Men who do the right thing to protect others and especially those they love. They love with their whole beings. Good story and loveable characters but there is also those who will do them wrong and will do anything to stop those on the right side of the law.

I think this is supposed to be a comedy.

🚩”As an anthropologist, I can study a man’s posture and movements and understand what his issues are.”- I think she’s got the wrong profession here 😂

🚩”No, I told Alex to rest more,” Jack says from the living room. “He just won’t listen, and now he’s hurting.” “Hey, I’m going to get better. I know it. I just need a little more time.” - Jack is the professional coach, what he says goes.

🚩”Maeve,” Alex says. “Is this true?” “Yeah,” I whisper, unable to find any other words to say…. “Whose is it?” he asks. “Mine or Jack’s” - they had a threesome 🤦‍♀️

🚩”Maeve?” is all Noah can say as he looks at me, understandably stunned. Oh fuck. “Is it mine?” Noah replies” - he knows she was sleeping with the other two at the same time

🚩”Now, all of that being said, the doctors here have already sent your test results back to your doc in Lansing, and the final verdict is that you need a couple of weeks’ worth of bed rest.”- bc doctors always release confidential medical information

🚩”Alex is too young to be a father.” - he’s in his 30s and retiring from professional hockey 🤣

🚩”Margo adds, nodding at my now visible bump.” - damn, she’s growing a super baby at less than 3 months along

So, enjoy the laughs if you choose to delve in.

I am a big fan of why choose and accidental pregnancy. Unfortunately, this one didn’t work for me. I think a big part of it was the three MCCs didn’t really know about the others being involved until pretty late in the story so instead of why choose it honestly felt more like cheating until the end. It also just all felt a little too make believe. I mean I read romance so of course I know realistic logic is often thrown out the window lol. But this one, idk it just didn’t flow well in my opinion which led to me not really ever feeling connected to the characters or really into the story. Also, the guys talking through everything and coming to terms with what they all wanted, primarily happened off page so that wasn’t great.

*****
• why choose
• secret relationships
• accidental pregnancy
• third act breakup
• brother’s coach & teammate
• neighbors to lovers
• virgin FMC

Great why choose romance, it was a very cute and fast-to-read book. I definitely wanted more but the ending also tied it off perfectly.
I loved the brother. His character had a great arc that helped the rest of the story flow and progress perfectly.

4/5 stars.

BROTHERS BEST FRIEND, COACH🏆 AND NEXT DOOR NEIGHBOR🏡 MFMM NO MM 🔞Spice level 🌶️🌶️🌶️

💬Call Jack over and make it a foursome while you’re at it. I’ve had enough. Yes, I’m pregnant, and no, I don’t know who the father is.” “Are you serious?” Kyle croaks. “Yes, Kyle. I’ve been with Alex, and I’ve been with Jack. I’ve been with Alex and Jack since they didn’t mind sharing and I didn’t mind being shared. And I’ve been with Noah, too. So yeah, my sexual revolution began and ended swiftly. No, I don’t want to share any of the lurid details. It is none of your business. It’s nobody’s business but mine, actually. I just want to be left alone.”💬
💬I can’t help but giggle. “It’s like the baby knows. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or worried about the birth or raising a child on my own, this wave of warmth sort of washes over me. As if my own body is taking over to tell me that we’ve got this. The brain may be the overthinker, but the body always knows better. I forget that, sometimes.” 💬
📌She didn’t even give the fathers 👨 a chance. The problem I have with the female lead is how irresponsible, rude and just plain infantile she is.
The fathers know about the baby 👶 they are begging to talk to her and she runs away.
📌WOW,🤯 SHE GIVES WOMEN A BAD NAME. It just made me upset 😭 because she is whining about being overwhelmed by the birth and raising the baby 🍼 but it is all her own darn fault.
📌Maybe if she quit acting 🎭 crazy 🤪 and like a whiny 😫 little baby. She would have help.
📌If I were one of the guys I wouldn’t want to be with her at all. I would take her to court and have my rights put in place. At least with the courts they would order a DNA 🧬 TEST that way they could find out who the Dad is and then he could set up child support and get visitation.
💬“Have you considered a DNA test for the baby?”I shrug lightly. “I’m not sure if I want to do that unless it’s to simply screen for possible genetic issues or whatever. But certainly not for paternity purposes. I don’t think I want to know, to be honest.” “Have any of them been in touch?” “Repeatedly, but I keep sending their calls to voicemail and leaving their messages on read.💬
👆👆👆👆👆👆👆
📌How totally arrogant….
📌WOW 🤯 I AM AT A LOSS FOR WORDS.
💬I shake my head slowly. “Noah is a dominant guy. A possessive type. He wanted me all to himself.” “But he didn’t want you two to be official.” “No. Not yet anyway.” 💬
💬Margo scoffs. “That’s bull. Either he wants you or he doesn’t. Or he doesn’t want you enough for a relationship. For him to be mad that you didn’t stay exclusive when you weren’t officially together, well, sorry, but that’s just plain bullshit. You shouldn’t feel guilty about any of this, honey. If he wanted you all to himself, he should’ve put a ring on it.”💬
📌Now that above. 👆👆👆👆What a joke. Yes make the guys look bad. She was the CHEATER. 📌Jack and Alex made it official with her but she continued sleeping with Noah and didn’t tell either party.
📌She is making herself the victim in all this and making the guys look bad. Are you sure she isn’t like 16 instead of 29?
📌Does the author have someone against men. ⁉️ Because it seems like a deliberate attack against men.
📌And it isn’t an actual valid attack.
📌She was the one sneaking around, she was the one that cheated, she is the one that ran away, she is the one that is lying about the guys and trying to get sympathy for her girl friends.
📌It is gaslighting at its finest.📌
📌I like strong female lead characters that have character.
📌That would be a woman sit down and talk and put a plan in place for the baby.
📌The female character in this book is a nightmare.
📌I liked her up until she ran and then started all her victim routine.
📌Here are the facts…THE BABY ISN’T JUST HERS.
💬“I guess. I still feel bad since I never told him about Jack or Alex. He saw us getting it on at the hotel lounge and figured it out.” She laughs so hard, she nearly falls out of her seat. “By the stars, Maeve, you sure pack a whole lotta spice for a bookworm who stayed a virgin deep into her late twenties…”💬
📌Ohhhhh YES 👆👆👆HILARIOUS
📌SO funny😂that she is a cheater,and hurt 3 separate men,which one of them is the babies 👶 Dad👨.
📌And she guesses she feels bad. Good Grief she needs to go to counseling and get some
💬Margo shakes her head. “You have nothing to be sorry for. But you do need to take it easy until the baby is born. You weren’t supposed to overexert yourself the way you did. Then again, there’s a lot your OB/GYN told you not to do that you went ahead and did anyway.”💬
📌👆👆👆👆👆AND SHE IS EXTREMELY SELFISH AND SELF CENTERED. She kept secrets big time she was having a high risk pregnancy and continued to put the baby at risk.
📌Good grief there is seriously something wrong with this woman.

Playing Pretend with my Brother's Best Friends takes readers on a wild and passionate journey filled with secret trysts, intense emotions, and unexpected turns. From the perspective of Maeve, the author skillfully weaves a tale that explores the shifting dynamics from friendship to an undeniable sexual chemistry, keeping readers hooked and yearning for more.

One of the book's strengths lies in its well-developed characters and their relationships. Each man in Maeve's life brings a distinct personality, treating her differently and contributing to the overall tension. The author successfully creates believable characters and relationships, incorporating just the right amount of sexual tension to keep the story simmering.

However, the story could have benefited from stronger communication between the characters. The lack of open dialogue often leads to hurt feelings and misunderstandings, causing Maeve to run away and put herself at risk. This aspect of the plot emphasizes the importance of effective communication in relationships, but it could have been explored in more depth.

The pacing of the book is generally well-executed, but the pregnancy subplot feels rushed. Although it is mentioned as a risky pregnancy, it is introduced abruptly after an accident involving Maeve. Providing more foreshadowing and development regarding this aspect would have made the plotline more cohesive and impactful.

The author excels in delivering a steamy and passionate romance. The interactions between Maeve and her three love interests are sizzling, igniting butterflies in readers' hearts. The steamy scenes are plentiful and leave no doubt about their intense physical connection. If you enjoy scorching MFMM and ménage encounters, this book will undoubtedly satisfy your desires.

Playing Pretend with my Brother's Best Friends is a standalone reverse harem romance that successfully combines humor, danger, and generous amounts of love. The promise of a happily ever after is guaranteed, leaving readers with a sense of satisfaction and warmth.

Overall, Playing Pretend with my Brother's Best Friends is a well-written romance that balances intrigue and passion. While some areas could have been further explored and developed, the book delivers on its promise of a steamy and entertaining reverse harem adventure. Fans of the genre will find this novel to be an enjoyable and tantalizing read.

Delayed Dating Lessons

While still a child, Maeve Jensen understood love and death and responsibility. When her mom died during child birth, Maeve at age 7 and her handsome, athletic dad, a skilled, star ice hockey player, who understood sacrifice and responsibility, became the only family of the newborn baby boy, Kyle. The grieving father, his young daughter and newborn son, Kyle, became a team of three. And so, the father and his young daughter, while grieving the loss of wife and mother, dedicated themselves to baby Kyle.

Now, 22 years later, Kyle is a rising star on pro ice hockey team based in Lansing, Michigan, the home of the Jensen family. With her athlete brother, the 29-year-old older sister Maeve, a beautiful blonde with sparkling blue eyes still lives in the family home, even now that their dad is dead. And in the intervening years, Maeve has also blossomed physically into a beauty. And, intellectually, her academic curiosity has led her to become trained as an anthropologist whose specialty, life and customs of indigenous people, has recently received an invitation to partner with the local archeological dig located nearby at the Mount Pleasant site of a Chippewa ancestral settlement

And since Kyle is an independent adult who has achieved his professional goal at an early age—being a member of an ice hockey team bound for the Stanley Cup—Maeve has decided to allow herself to investigate a part of her life that she has ignored—her own sexual evolution from innocence to experienced.

But, she doesn’t really know how to step into the dating world at the age of 29. She has no knowledge of how to play the dating game. She needs help—trainers, coaches—who can guide her from innocence to knowledge. So, she turns to three men whom she trusts and whom she knows to have firsthand knowledge of the game of love—neighbor Noah, a man whom she has known her whole life, Alex Parrish, an older player on her brother’s hockey team who is a player—both on and off the ice, and a father and son—Jack Bogdanovich, an assistant coach and his young Trent, both of whom are dealing with the fallout when a marriage goes very wrong. With three men with different perspectives on relationships and how to engage with a woman, Maeve has the means to catch up on her dateless years of serving as big sister and surrogate mom for her brother.

Hockey, hunks and harems… what not to love?

I’m a big fan of Kai’s RH stories. Mostly because you know that regardless of what hardships these complex relationships face, love always wins… but also because they are relatable. The characters are loveable and instantly pull you in. The plots aren’t just all about the bedroom antics as there is usually an aspect of mild peril that makes the story more interesting. Overall, they’re good… especially if you like a good ‘ooopps’ pregnancy twist.

Where this one slightly differs from most of her other books, is that not everyone in this RH scenario is fully onboard; nor is everyone aware that our female lead, Maeve has not one, not two but three hot hunks at her beck and call.

There’s also the fact that the beautiful Maeve is a nearly 30yr-old virgin at the start of the book only to find herself catching up on lost time when she takes three men into her bed within just a few weeks of finally popping that cherry! Lucky Lady indeed!!

I do like the dynamic in this because there’s a lot of self-doubt and guilt that creeps into this relationship, which I feel makes it more believable, especially as these guys didn’t know about the situation or the fact that they all have feelings for the same woman at first.

Really enjoyed this story, as I have all the others I’ve read from this author. Nice easy read with some interesting scenarios.

Maeve has spent all her life taking care of other people and putting herself second and as she approaches her 30th birthday she decides she wants to start dating and meet someone who puts her first for once - she’s 29 and a never been kissed before virgin.

Enter three men who have already been a big part of her life (and her brothers) who offer to help her get the man of dreams but their lessons soon show she’s already met him and there happens to be more than one of them.

What follows is a story of secret trysts, passion, jealousy and heartbreak as Maeve jumps from the frying pan into the fire so to speak. Each man is very different personality wise and how they treat and act towards Maeve. The author did a really good job of creating believable characters and relationships with just enough sexual tension to keep the relationship simmering.

One thing the relationship is lacking is communication and people’s feelings get hurt and rather than talk things through Maeve runs away and hides putting herself at risk.

The book is well paced but I felt the pregnancy part was particularly rushed. We hear it’s a risky pregnancy but none of that’s been mentioned at all until Maeve has an accident.

The story tells the tale of Maeve. She is "almost 29 and never been…"

When Maeve's neighbor, Noah, discovers she has never been kissed. At almost 29, he regrets not kissing her when he took her to the senior prom. That's a good start to an excellent story! And it only gets better from there.

Kyle, Maeve's brother, comes home for the weekend and brings his friends, Alex and Jack. Lots of teasing starts to get to Maeve when one of them says she has three willing guys to help teach her how to get better at the game of dating. Who could pass up an offer like that? Did I mention these three guys are outstanding and that Maeve has been drooling over them for some time now?

Over pizza, the guys start with the basics, body language, etc. One of them suggests that more self-confidence would help. Another says she is looking in all the wrong places. She needs to get out and go to places where people hang out. Do not rely on dating apps.

By the end of the story, Maeve has finally been kissed and more, not by strangers but by the three guys she had a crush on all along.

This story was fun and a one-sitting read for me. I had to know what had happened before I laid the book for the night. Good Job, Kai Lesy!

I really liked this book! Two hot hockey players and a next door neighbor make an agreement to help Maeve get out of her dating rut.

Maeve is 29 years old and finally trying to get into dating after taking care of her father and younger brother after her mom died. She’s also been busy getting her degree in Anthropology. BTW, I love that this woman is super smart and at the top of her field! I’m all for a woman not relying on a man, or men, to take care of her financially.

Noah is the hot, domineering neighbor next door. Jack and Alex are from her brother’s hockey team. They all want to teach Maeve the proper way to date. New clothes, information on how to hold a conversation over coffee or dinner, etc.

Of course, lots of sex occurs at the same time as the “teaching”. Maeve is keeping her ménage romance with Jack and Alex a secret from Noah. Of course, the whole thing blows up in her face. They do get their HEA in the end, but a little angst and a secret pregnancy happens before that.

I’ve read a few books by Kai Lesy now and I have to say I’m really enjoying her writing style. Can’t wait for the next book!.

Brothers friends romance

A great read, the characters were all easy to get to know. A woman almost 30years old and a virgin, has never had a boyfriend and never been kissed.
Her hockey playing brothers friends decide to help her, one with fitness one with new wardrobe megaton dates, but they all fall for each other, surprise surprise lol. The only issue is she doesn't explain to the men she's sleeping with each of them so drama ensues!
Then she finds out she's pregnant and more drama ( no spoilers ) so she ends it with them all and goes on long work trip.
Up to there I really enjoyed the story but the last part seemed rushed, her having the baby no the later, what I found I was left thinking was it seemed TechRepublic she had one boyfriend not three. Hidden relationships sent for me and they did it as omelette men wanted custody of a son, however that was ignored and left unanswered? also how were they going to live as a family unit when it was a secret relationship?
Other than that is read other books by this author.

Maeve put herself on the back burner as she did her best to raise her younger brother Kyle after her parents' untimely passing. Now almost 30 and trying to date, Maeve realizes she is way out of practice. Thankfully, her friends & Kyle's best friends, Noah, Alex, and Jack, offer her their support & guidance by becoming her dating coaches. One thing leads to another and soon, Maeve has her hands full with 3 sexy hot men and no time or desire to date anybody else. But what happens when feelings grow stronger and more than feelings develop?

Playing Pretend is well-written and even though it is from Maeve's perspective, there are plenty of insights shared from other characters. The dynamics shifting from friendship to sexual chemistry is intriguing and the steamy moments leave you wanting more. Highly recommend!

Finding Her Happiness

I love stories where the guy offers to help the shy, inexperienced girl get experience by teaching her how to date. So what could make that even better? Three times the guys of course lol. That’s the situation our fmc, Maeve, finds herself in. There was actually a good level of realism and believability in this story as far as how Maeve ended up with all her guys. They did have to deal with a lot of communication issues though, and a bit of an unforeseen complication that brought reality crashing down on them. They all have to decide if they really want to untangle their complicated love lives and move forward together, or accept that the game was fun while it lasted. Watching them work for their HEA was an entertaining afternoon read that I definitely recommend if you love RH stories 🥰

This was a really cute read, Maeve and her men! Maeve dedicate me her life to raise her brother and further her career, leaving no time for herself. No dating, never been kissed and still pure of all things. She had a crush on Noah her neighbor since forever and her brother Kyle, a professional hockey player brings his coach Jack and fellow player Alex around. The three delicious hunks have had eyes on Maeve for some time and agree to help her to become more comfortable in her skin and into the dating field. That was the beginning of so much learning and experiences for Maeve. Not all things are always good times and Maeve discovers she is pregnant. She runs away from her men when she feels the pressure of dating all three goes amiss. But never fear HEA!.

Maeve was so focused on taking care of family and work that she didn't have time for herself. Including not having dated or even kissed anyone before. Noah a close friend and neighbor for years offered to help train Maeve for dating. Alex a teammate of her brothers and Jack the teams Coach also offered to help with her training. All three have been carrying torches for Maeve for varying years. Maeve has also crushed on the three handsome men but never really thought much would happen as all are off limits so to speak. So as relationships blossom it becomes harder to keep secrets from all involved in the small tight knit group of friends. Especially as hearts become more involved causing fits of uncertainty and even jealousy.

Maeve has neglected herself and her sexuality while raising her brother and pursuing her career. She has had no luck dating and her neighbor, Noah, her brother’s coach, Jack, and a fellow player, Alex, offer to teach her how to date successfully. These men are gorgeous hunks and she is completely mesmerized by them.

Kai’s storyline, dialogue, and sexy scenes are really good. The characters worked well together except for keeping secrets from each other. Relationships are vulnerable and Maeve learns the value of communication and trusting her instincts to say what she’s thinking and feeling. I loved their HEA!.

4.5 Stars!! There is Maeve who is always helping other people, her dad then her brother while working her butt off to get a degree in anthropology. She raised her brother Kyle who is now a hockey player. Almost thirty and still a virgin, she decides it is time into herself and start dating. But where to start? Her friend through her brother offer to assist her and be her dating coaches. There are Noah, Alex, and Jack. Well, you know one thing leads to another and she has three extremely hot men showing her (in a practical sense) how to date. What will she do when she starts having feelings for all of them? Well written from Maeve's point of view. Good steam.

Brilliant reverse harem with a HEA.
Inexperienced in all things love Maeve is tired of going on dull, lustlacking dates. Enter Noah, Alex and Jack who all provide the idea of being her dating coach. All three though have underlying feelings for our leading lady, and she definitely has feelings for them.

Give this a read if you enjoy off limits romance, taboo relationships, unexpected pregnancy, spicy scenes, friends to lovers, no cheating (technically) and happy endings.

5/5 stars brilliantly written and engaging.

Maeve has had to take care of her younger brother her entire life and has sacrificed her personal life for him. Now that he is grown she has decided to take on her love life and it is disastrous. In steps her neighbor, Noah, her brothers teammate, Alex, and his coach, Jack, to help her figure things out and "coach" her on dating. Things get steamy and challenging between Maeve and all three guys. Feelings get hurt, secrets come out and things get complicated. Lots of steam, a little drama, not much action but this is a quick easy read.

After many dating disasters, Maeve's neighbor and her brother's hockey teammate and coach offer to give her dating lessons from gym workouts, to clothes, to dining together. This leads to bedroom games and before long the teammate, Alex, and coach, Jack, are sharing her in a threesome. Finally, the neighbor, Noah, catches on and they all split up until she turns up expecting and has some complications. Decent plotline, a couple of good hockey scenes and some great descriptions of Maeve's work at the museum. HEA.

Maeve has been very much the mom for her kid brother from a young age and has never given herself the time to explore dating. She has no skills to help her navigate the dating pool so takes the help offered by her brother’s friends. However practicing her skills with her secret crushes brings a whole heap of feelings into play. Trying to keep everything on the quiet from both her brother and the guys becomes impossible and the whole situation becomes messy. Add in two pink lines and nothing is simple to resolve. Not going to spoil all the details but never fear a HEA is on the cards for Maeve.

Maeve is almos 30 and her love life i totally non existent. It's very upsetting that she can't even get a second date. She's about ready to give up and become that old cat lady. Then she has a discussion with her next door neighbor, Noah, is an eye opener for him. Then along comes Jack, her brother's coach and Alex a teammate. Then these three gorgeous men decide to come up with a game plan to help me get a man. Then she hit a tad bit of a snag! Now what does she do?
Fantastic story with lots of ideas from men on how to seduce men. Sweetly funny (come on men giving advice!!) and romantic!.

I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.

In this book we meet Maeve, Noah, Jack, & Alex. After another disaster of a date she finds herself not only drinking her problems away but also crying on one of her brother's best friends' shoulders. When the guys decide the best way to help their friends sister. They let her know as much but she is sure they must be joking. Can they all find a HEA or will this just be another disaster in her dating life?

Another amazing story by this author. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Wow, this was a great book to read. It really pulled on my emotions and made me cry in one section of the story. I loved how Noah, Alex and Jack all offered to help Naeve with her dating issues and how each of them fell in love with her. I loved how her brother Kyle was there for her as well as her best friend and also her boss. This was a really enjoyable story that I highly recommend. There is a happy ending for all involved.

Maeve feels like a dating disaster until her brother's three friends step up to assist. Jack, his hockey coach, Alex his team mate and Noah their next door neighbor.
This is steamy, romantic, dramatic and a little intense but a wonderful happy ever after.
I liked the three guys who were so different and their sweet approach to Maeve.
This was well done and Kai Lesy writes a contemporary story that is a delight to read.

party of four

Playing Pretend with my Brother's Best Friends is book four in the series Lucky Lady by author Kai Lesy. This one is more sweet than the others- there’s a gentleness to it- don’t get me wrong it’s spicy. Yet the male character all genuinely gentlemen. And the female chis having the time of her life- until…. I’ll let you get to that yourselves.
Anywho, it’s a really good read and you get your HEA.
Enjoy!!.

This is an enjoyable new RH romance! It's easy reading, low angst, and the characters are all likeable. I enjoyed how the RH wasn't a pre-set thing like you see in so many stories where it's a group of guys and they are all in from the word go to share one woman. This is a much more natural progression that seems far more realistic to how I would imagine this kind of thing would come about. I found that refreshing. All in all, I recommend this book for a nice afternoon of losing yourself!.
