“One of the best thrillers I have read this year. The plot is intelligent and will keep you hooked from the beginning. The author did a superb job creating a set of characters who are fully developed and very much enjoyable. I can hardly wait for the sequel.” --Books and Movie Reviews, Roberto Mattos (re Any Means Necessary) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
From #1 bestselling and USA Today bestselling author Jack Mars, author of the critically acclaimed Luke Stone and Agent Zero series (with over 5,000 five-star reviews), comes an explosive new action-packed espionage series that takes readers on a wild ride across Europe, America, and the world.
After a brazen theft from the basement of the Louvre, a terrorist organization holds a mysterious, un-catalogued relic for ransom. When a pyramid is destroyed—and hundreds killed—the stakes escalate, with other high-profile targets—and civilian lives—in their sights. With lives on the line, Jacob Snow, elite soldier-turned-CIA agent, must team up with his mysterious archeologist partner to figure out what they stole, who they are—and how to stop them before it’s too late.
An unputdownable action thriller with heart-pounding suspense and unforeseen twists, TARGET SIX is the sixth novel in an exhilarating new series by a #1 bestselling author that will make you fall in love with a brand-new action hero—and keep you turning pages late into the night. Perfect for fans of Dan Brown, Daniel Silva and Jack Carr.
Future books in the series will soon be available.
Jack Mars is author of the bestselling LUKE STONE thriller series, which include the suspense thrillers ANY MEANS NECESSARY (book #1), OATH OF OFFICE (book #2) and SITUATION ROOM (book #3).
It's an entertaining story and if it was a one off, a good book. Unfortunately it's book 6 and the similarities between books is becoming too obvious to ignore To put it in a nut shell terrorists do something bad, the couple get dragged into it, they chase around a bit, Jana makes a historical discovery, they rush to whichever part of the world they need to go, they save the day Please try something different
Insanely impossible but Mars keeps his two characters alive and almost on time every story. I prefer the Kindle Unlimited series of Ben Porter. See if you agree.
Target Six is the latest thriller from author Jack Mars, known for his gripping narratives and fast-paced plots. This novel is part of the protagonist, former elite soldier turned CIA agent Jacob Snow, a character series that Mars has created. With his distinct storytelling style, Mars once again proves his prowess in crafting a story that is both engaging and thrilling.
The novel opens with a high-stakes scenario that immediately pulls the reader into the action. The protagonist, who weaves through layers of intrigue and danger, is tasked with a mission that seems innocuous at first but quickly escalates into something far more complex and dangerous. Mars does an excellent job of setting up the stakes right from the beginning, igniting a sense of urgency that propels the narrative forward.
The plot opens with a well-planned and executed heist from the basement of the Louvre Museum, Paris by a terrorist organization that is allegedly operated by “The Order” of an ancient, mysterious and uncataloged Egyptian relic and demands a huge ransom from the French government in return of the relic. Miles away in Egypt, an explosion rocks one of the long-standing pyramids, killing hundreds of civilians. Jacob teams up with his archaeological partner, Jana Peters, to find out what they stole from the museum, what threat it poses to humanity, who is the mastermind behind the heist and how they intend to use it to wage war against the West.
One of the most significant strengths of Target Six is its pacing. Mars employs short chapters filled with tension and cliffhangers that keep the reader on the edge of their seat. Each twist and turn in the plot builds upon the last, creating a crescendo of suspense that culminates in a finale that is both satisfying and explosive. As the protagonist navigates through perilous situations, readers will find themselves racing through the pages, eager to uncover the outcome of the intricate web of conspiracies at play.
Character development is another highlight of the novel. The protagonist is portrayed as a rugged, seasoned agent, shaped by a past filled with both personal and professional challenges. Mars expertly crafts his inner thoughts, showing not only his capabilities but also his vulnerabilities. This depth allows readers to connect with him on a more personal level, rooting for his success while fearing for his safety amidst dangerous encounters. The supporting characters are equally well-developed, each bringing unique perspectives that enrich the narrative and enhance the protagonist’s journey.
However, Target Six does encounter a few predictable plot points that seasoned thriller readers might see coming. While the narrative is packed with surprises, certain outcomes can feel slightly formulaic. This could deter readers who are looking for completely unpredictable narratives, but it can also be viewed as a nod to traditional thriller tropes that many fans of the genre enjoy.
In conclusion, Target Six is a taut, suspenseful read that showcases Jack Mars' knack for storytelling and character development. With its compelling protagonist, swift pacing, and a plot filled with intrigue and moral questions, the book is sure to capture the attention of both new readers and long-time fans of the genre. Despite a few predictable beats, the novel effectively delivers on its promise of thrilling entertainment. Whether you are a fervent follower of Mars' work or a newcomer to his narratives, Target Six is a recommended addition to your reading list that will leave you eagerly anticipating the next chapter in this exciting series.
Espionage action thriller - one of my favorite genres! In this story, where history is wrapped up with terrorism and international threats, there is plenty of action and mystery. It's a matter of figuring out who is behind it all and where they will strike next.
I very much like the partnership of G man and educated historian. They each have their strengths and learn to work together despite the obstacles thrown in their way.
The whole concept is also intriguing - that there is naturally occurring uranium found in ancient artifacts. Not only do they need to figure out who is making bombs, they need to find the next target plus find the next place the terrorists will look for the ancient uranium. Quite a challenge!
Again very repetitive, same plot as Target 5'4'3'2'1 in my opinion, it was the weakest one so far in the collection." this one should have been called Missed The Target. Not a fan of how short these books are and now how many, that could have been halved by combining the books now I'm in too deep I have to wait for the rest to be written and that should not take long for it's the same plot in every book.
Old foes reappear and steal a mysterious ancient relic from the basement of the Louvre. And it appears, it's a very dangerous one, that terrorists want use. And Jacob Snow is asked to go after them, and to bring Jana. Again a very entertaining fast paced archeological thriller in the Spy Game series. I'm looking forward to the next one.
Repetitive. Predictable. Sounds like it was partially finished. Narration of Man1, Man2, Man3, Woman1, Woman2 and Woman3” in a conversation of six people made it sound unfinished. I like the stories and characters nonetheless but this was painful to listen to.
I gave up on this series. The cost of each book went up and the number of pages went down with each one. Good story but it looks like I could spend a lot and get a couple of paragraphs by the end. Sorry but done
I thoroughly enjoyed this clean, fast paced story that takes place in a number of different countries. Terrorists and nuclear weapons which are tied an ancient Egyptian relic that will impact the entire world… all of which makes for an entertaining storyline. RECOMMENDED.
