Gardner Francis Cooper Fox was an American writer known best for creating numerous comic book characters for DC Comics. Comic book historians estimate that he wrote more than 4,000 comics stories, including 1,500 for DC Comics. Fox is known as the co-creator of DC Comics heroes the Flash, Hawkman, Doctor Fate and the original Sandman, and was the writer who first teamed those and other heroes as the Justice Society of America. Fox introduced the concept of the Multiverse to DC Comics in the 1961 story "Flash of Two Worlds!"
"The Lady from L.U.S.T. #1": AKA: "LUST Be a Lady Tonight" by Gardner Fox (as Rod Gray).
"A fair exchange can be robbery—sometimes. Count Guido della Faziola wanted my body. I wanted the pictures that were hidden in the stateroom of his luxury yacht, I would give him the flesh fest he wanted. But the Count was not likely to hand over the negatives even in exchange for little old me, I was going to have to steal them. My skin tight evening gown with its low, low-cut bodice was an open invitation. The Count’s hand accepted the invitation. Oh, well, I, was in the service of my country. Vive la patriotism!"
Our hero is Eve Drum. She’s called Agent Oh Oh Sex . She’s called that as a joke by her fellow workers at the federal agency called L.U.S.T.
L.U.S.T. stands for “The League of Underground Spies and Terrorists.”The Other Side is called H.A.T.E., the "Humanitarian Alliance for Total Espionage".

I thought this was going to be innocent like a James Bond film or a Dean Martin spy movie, since those seem to be the inspiration. It's similar to those two but but more of a romance novel with spy elements. It's graphic with it's sex scenes but avoids any hard language. It's all "her privacy" and "his privacy".
Most enjoyable. Used to buy these at a used book store back in the 60’s. A fun and educational read. This series does not let you down. I am sure you will enjoy your journey with the L.U.S.T. series!
Remember the 60's James Bond? crazy gadgets, ridiculous schemes by cartoonish bad guys, bedding everyone he meets? Now imagine a woman in the role and a mandate to sex it up, that is about what you get with the L.U.S.T. series.
First off, the sex itself - this is not porn, its not really even erotica, this was the 60's after all. This is more of a mildly titillating comedy story. Typical examples are passages like: "The Count discovered that my evening gown afforded his hand an entrance into the low-cut bodice" and "Right before his face I waved my twin titillators. His eyes grew very wide. I hit him with both barrels. He forgot to duck"
The story itself is a throwaway one about a scientist who has discovered something and is wanted by both the good guys and the bad guys. In typically 60's spy fashion, he refuses to tell anyone but insists on living in his house and commuting to work every day, thus affording plenty of opportunities for the good guys to protect him as the bad guys cook up nefarious schemes.
So if the sex is very mild and the story is very mild, is the book worth reading? I think so. Its enjoyable like the old James Bond movies are, watching them get into preposterous situations and then the equally preposterous ways they have to get out of them. She has to steal documents from his safe, so instead of knocking him over the head or using her karate-chop on his neck, she decides she has to sex him into unconsciousness. Then instead of using the 2 seconds it would take to put her clothes back on she has to jump out the window naked (with the documents). She has to use her exploding panties (yes!) to get away from the alligators. Instead of using a male bodyguard she has to "prove" she is a lesbian in order to pose as his wife (yes it gets convoluted) - so its fun to see the situations the writer dreams up for her to get into (and the clothes she must get out of to escape.)
The ending (such as it is) isn't much and you really get the feeling that the editor said "this many words and no more" because it just ends after a minor scene. Its obviously a setup for sequels but they were a lot more forgiving of story wrapups back then.
So, to summarize, there were 20-something of these books. This one makes for a quick evening read if you find one in the bargain basement pile. Expect to have fun reading about her misadventures and sexy scenarios on her way to becoming a L.U.S.T. agent.
A solid erotic thriller. My copy was a reprint and seemed to be badly edited, with a lot of misspellings, punctuation errors and oddly truncated paragraphs.
The most remarkable thing about this book is that the author didn’t even care enough to make sure the scientist’s last name was spelled the same. There is a paragraph with two different spellings.
