Once he hears her sing, he'll never want anyone else. When aspiring opera singer Melynda Taylor’s date stands her up on her twenty-first birthday, she’s ready to give up on love – until she meets an irresistible older man who shares her passion for music. Despite their incendiary attraction, when they discover he’s her new professor, she has no choice but to walk away. If only she could forget how he made her feel.
For Dr. Liam Jacobs, a position with a prestigious university music program is one step closer to his dream of having his own opera company. Getting involved with a student could cost him everything he’s ever wanted. But no matter how hard he tries to keep his distance, their connection proves too strong to ignore.
Will the music that brought them together be the very thing that tears them apart? Indiscreet, book 1 in the Love Song series, is a standalone, spicy, age gap, professor/student forbidden romance with a guaranteed HEA.

I'm sorry, how can this be a debut? Cara is an awesome author already! Wow this love song book was definitely music to my ears and heart. Played with my heart string all the way through. It's description was so good, you felt like you was there and you was feeling it all. The angst was sooo high, I thought I would die haha. I don't do high angst but it was soooooo worth it. Min was a student at the music school. On a night where she was stood up once again by someone that doesn't really acknowledge her. Anyway that fateful night she met Liam. Absolutely fire blazing hot Liam. Their chemistry was off the chart already. When a book can make you have butterflies you know it's good writing. Things almost got Steamy until Liam's friend came and recognised Min and introduced her to her new Professor aka Liam!!!. Well that sucks. They had to forget each other and fight the feelings.
You really need to read the book. They do so well to fight it all, it hurt so much to see them so broken. Read to see can one have the dream career and dream girl or will the the whole thing explode like their chemistry. Be prepared for lots of heartbreak and lots of love and Steamy moments. Liam really knows how to please a woman. There is a trigger warning, recall of rape but not so descriptive. Cara I can't wait to read Noah's book.
DNFing. The first half was a brilliant mix of pining and will they won’t they. One of the VERY VERY FEW prof/student romances I haven’t found cringeworthy. But around 50% it became a bangfest and the thread of the plot disappeared.

Classical musicians having crazy hot sex? Sign me up!
Indiscreet is a beautiful erotic romance debut by Cara Dion. She immerses the reader in the competitive and highly emotional world of professional opera, exploring how lines between directors and performers can be blurred in a forbidden romance. Liam initially appears as a typical alpha hero, but his attraction to Min, an opera student in his program, starts as lust but morphs into powerful love because of her talent and intellect. Instead of wielding power over her, he builds her up into a powerhouse of her own.
This book is steamy, but like the work of Sierra Simone and Sarah Cate, the sex advances the character arcs, and we see Liam and Min grow in their understanding of each other and of themselves in each intimate encounter.
Her side characters are masterpieces in themselves, and I’m thrilled to know that Noah (Liam’s best friend) will be getting his own story soon. My fingers are crossed for a story for Jeff (Min’s best friend) and Bobby!
Pros: LOTS of good, emotional sex; smart conversations; tremendously satisfying and realistic ending
Cons: The soprano gets the guy at the end. As an alto, this one hurt.
At the last minute, Aidan tells Melynda Taylor that he won’t be able to make it to the opera for her special birthday. Thoroughly disgusted, she asks him whose name he put the tickets under because she intended to enjoy the performance alone if he didn’t care to make the effort. She wasn’t expecting to hear him claim that he figured she would be buying the tickets. He offered that she could hang out with him later if she wanted; he and the guys had already had a few rounds.
Melynda hung up, angry with herself for wasting a year on him. It was so obvious he just didn’t care. Tears in her eyes, she called her best friend Jeff. He told her he would take her to the diner for pancakes and spiked milkshakes. But she wanted to check to see if she could get a last-minute seat. A handsome man, Dr. Liam Jacobs, the head of Burnett University’s opera program, overheard her and offered her a free ticket! With their common interest and obvious enjoyment of the opera, it was easy to become attracted to each other… at least until they find out he is her professor and they can take this no further.
The two of them have dreams that blend perfectly with Melynda’s beautiful voice perfectly suited as an opera singer and Liam’s dream of his own opera company. Those dreams would crash and burn if they pursued an inappropriate relationship. What kind of choice does that leave them? Will they walk away from a future together?
Dang, this book was an unexpected but WELCOMED surprise in how much I loved it! I had initially read the second book first, since it was part of a book subscription, but it wound up being just find to read out of order. I was all about the taboo tropes in this book, and was DYING for the tension to finally culminate. This was so good!
It took me a minute to get into the book, but once it started getting good, it was GOOD!!! Steamy, sensual, delicious! There’s a yummy age gap, a forbidden romance between a delicious professor and his delectable student, and enough steam to fog up the windows (literally… I was reading it while my husband was driving and my windows fogged up)! It’s definitely a slow burn, a lot of frustration as the main characters navigate the reasons they shouldn’t be together but a tantalizing excitement as they accept their inevitable draw to each other! Cara Dion does a phenomenal job with her descriptions of the various scenery, costumes, and characters, bringing you right there into the novel with them. I can’t wait for the second installment to see what Noah has in store for him! I hope we will get to see Jeff find his happiness as well!
I love my romance reveal box but the books can be really hit or miss. But this one was a freaking hit.
I will say, I wasn’t totally sure in the beginning. Their first encounter was amazing and hit and electric, but about 50 pages in, Dion skips about a year of time and it’s clear a lot has gone on in that year. Not just Min with her schooling but Liam’s career, their attempts not to want each other, and in Min’s personal life. And the transition was a little awkward.
But it didn’t last long. And if you like a good slow burn pining… of course you do. Who doesn’t love that?
And I love Min because she takes real time to figure out what she wants, really wants, and do it in spite of what Liam (thinks) he wants.
Also, did I mention the sex scenes were off the charts hot?
Overall, I just really enjoyed this book so much. 💖💖💖
Melynda was waiting for er date when he cancels at the last minute. She was going to see if she could get a ticket when a stranger offers her an extra ticket he has. Liam has been drawn to the young woman since he saw her reading. Now he gets to enjoy an evening with her instead of being alone. At intermission they start talking about the opera and this leads them to going to a bar Liam knows that has open mic night. The each perform but Mel stuns him. Just as things are heating up between them a friend calls that needs to talk and he invites him to the bar. Things get very complicate when Mel recognizes his friend as one of her professors and realizes Liam will soon be a professor of hers as well. She leaves upset but promises to let him know she got home ok. They fight their attraction but it soon because to hard for them to continue. Will they becomes something serious? What about school? Can Mel open up about what she's dealing with?
This is an emotional rollercoaster ride of a story. Once I started, I couldn't put it down until I finished it. What Mel has been dealing with will just break your heart and have you rooting that she gets a happy ending. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.

Professor Liam and his student Mel's forbidden romance is a captivating and exhilarating love story that kept me on the edge of my seat. Their chemistry is undeniable, and their emotional connection is palpable. Despite the obstacles and challenges they face, their love shines through and proves that true love knows no boundaries.
I was drawn in by the forbidden nature of their romance, and I couldn't help but root for them to overcome the odds and be together. Professor Liam's wisdom and experience complement Mel's youth and passion, creating a dynamic and compelling relationship that is both heartwarming and thrilling.
The writing is beautifully crafted, and the character development is superb. I found myself fully invested in their love story, eagerly turning the pages to see how their relationship would unfold. The forbidden romance between Professor Liam and Mel is a tale of love, courage, and sacrifice that will stay with me long after I've finished reading.
Overall, I highly recommend this forbidden romance to anyone looking for a captivating and emotional love story that defies societal norms and celebrates the power of true love. Professor Liam and Mel's love story is a testament to the enduring power of love and the strength of the human heart.
The characters in this book were phenomenal. I absolutely loved the opera theme and getting the inside scoop on how things are run in the music world - fiction or not, it felt real, okay?
There IS a third act breakup - HOWEVER. I've never seen a third act breakup done so well. Usually it's done over a misunderstanding, but this time that wasn't the case. It was a legitimate reason on both sides.
If I were Liam, I'd have been pissed that her keeping the secret of what Aiden did her to herself and not reporting it. But, being in those shoes and knowing what could happen if it's reported is also a heavy burden to carry - all of her questions of "what if" were things that are actually concerns when in a situation like that.
Jeff is my favorite character. I hope book 2 is about him and Bobby, because MAN do I need something to happen between the two of them.
I really had nothing bad to say about this book. Noah's part was important, Jeff's part was important, Aiden's part was important... every character had meaning and that's really hard to find in a book.
VERY well written and I will be finishing this series.

A lot more poignant and bittersweet than some of Dion's other novels, which is why I waited for the right time to read it. My first foray into her books was Undeniable, so I had some foreknowledge of Liam and Min. But wowza, the chemistry, the pining, the spice — this couple was beautiful in how they related to each other and how they healed together.
I am a Cara Dion fan 100% and though this wasn't my favorite of hers (Peek my 5-star reviews of some of her other works), I still greatly enjoyed it. It was a tad slow in the beginning but once it took off, I found myself falling into this love story head first. There is something so romantic about using classical music as a backdrop. It almost unfolded like an opera, just like the ones discussed by the characters.
Sweeping romance, beautiful gestures, and characters to die for—Indiscreet should be on your bookshelf!
Lust turned obsession- passionate love? Yes, yes, and yes. This novel is one of those reads you can't put down. You get so drawn into the story, the characters, the raunchiness. Is it wrong for a professor to f*** his student in the dressing room? Is his not the thing people dream about, being bad and being pull into the hottest professor's office to be punished? If you found any of those questions interesting, you NEED to read this book!!
Not only does this book cover the wrongs of what is happening between the main characters but it also covers how love is love, sometimes it finds us at the wrong time. Sometimes we have to sacrifice things to be with the person we love. BUT it also covers the p***y clenching moments betweent hese characters. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!
Troupes - Age-gap and forbidden (teacher/student).
Debut-criticism? Nope, not with this one! The way Cara wrote was smooth and delectable.
This book follows Min who meets Liam one fateful night after being stood up at an opera show and from the very beginning, you can feel the altercation between them. But, this hope of a relationship comes crashing down when Min realizes Liam is her teacher!
This book was an amazing read with a well-written push and pull between the characters who are trying to forget their feelings for each other. With the sweet moments, you are sure to feel a series of emotions from heartbreak to pure happiness for the characters within.
In the book “Indiscreet” Min and Liam meet at the opera when Min was stood up by her boyfriend on her birthday. They connect with the opera and with their analysis of the opera. They have incredible chemistry and just as they are about to explore it further when Min discovers that he is her professor. The attraction between these two sizzle although they try not to give in so they don’t ruin their dreams. Great story. The forbidden relationship between a teacher and a student is angst filled especially when they are adults. Adults who know what they need and want in their lives. There were some steamy moments in this book and there were some things mentioned that may cause triggers. I truly enjoyed this book.
This is the first in a new series and this is Liam and Melynda’s story. Liam has just become the chair for a university opera program, and his ultimate dream is to own his own opera company. Melynda is dedicated to becoming an opera singer. This is a well written story which is an emotional roller coaster, with sacrifices, challenges, romance, undeniable chemistry, and is a steamy and heartfelt page turner. This did not feel like a debut novel, it was well edited and had a great balance of angst and steam. I did feel it was a little slow in places but that could have been a tool to reflect the timeline of their interactions. I liked the sub plots happening alongside and Jeff was an excellent friend. Opera is not my music of choice and nor is 'academia' set books but I liked that it didn't feel too stuffy or high brow overall. I'm intrigued to continue the series.

To me, it felt like a definite slow burn. Just when you think they are finally getting together, something happens and it's back to being student/teacher and I wanted to throw my phone in frustration lol. But that was my only gripe. While I hated how long it took for them to get together, I also think that helped them as a couple too. They had that time to think about their feelings to see if it was just lust or if it was love. This book and the characters had me hooked from the start and it was hard to put down each night to go to bed.
🌶🌶🌶🌶 Forbidden Professor/Student Age Gap Mutal Pining
What a great story. Love the opera/theater storyline to the professor student trope. The descriptions the author used to weave the music was beautiful. The way the music and literature was used in this story was inspired.
Both Min & Liam were strong to be able to resist each other for as long as they did. Loved that they got to know each other on a deeper level in Italy. Love the side characters Noah, Jeff & Bobby. Liam made Min a better performer, and Min made Liam a better conductor.
I loved all the literature and opera references as a backdrop to this sweet, and spicy, slow burn novel, as I was both a soprano and literature major in college. It made me young nerd self so excited to read this heroine. The story has a whole mood to it. It mesmerized me and kept me captivated the same way Liam’s cello playing did to Min. It was refreshingly different to other romances and deeply romantic — the poetry cups were so swoony! Add in high heat and you’ve got an un-put-downable read. Can’t wait to start the next book by her!
Age Gap ✔️ Forbidden Romance ✔️ Spicy (from beginning to end, like whoa!)✔️
If you like these tropes, this book is for you! While I’m not into Opera, this story sucked me in. It was easy to read and understand the concepts they talked about regarding that.
Liam and Min’s story, with their chemistry, is 🌶️🔥🌶️🔥 🌶️ I had a lot of feels during this book. I was like whoa, shocked, ohh that twist, mad, sad, and wanted to scream at Liam a few times lol but the ending…the ending was good.
I was a little unsure about the age difference once I figured it out…unsure of how the story was going to develop but I’m glad I stuck with it! Turned into a great love story full of obstacles, ramifications and unity. I thought the reality of women reporting assault within college programs was nicely done and enlightening to those that don’t realize the hurdles a woman can be left with. I’ll read more of her books!
If you want to read about an age gap between a music teacher of opera and a student, then this book if for you😉 It brought the spice, heat and everything else😳🥵🌶️ Liam and Min together brought on a slow burn of passion and romance into one. I could not put this book down 5🌟 5🌶️ Please read and you are welcome😊
Completely obsessed with this. Indiscreet is the perfect balance of spicy, emotional, and the PINING? Amazing. I'm such a sucker for professor/student as a trope and Cara absolutely nailed it.
I seriously struggled to put this down once I started it and I can't recommend it enough. So incredible!
This is the first book that I read by Cara, and it was fantastic. The forbidden relationship between Min and Liam was one that I was not able to stop reading! I can't wait for the next book that she writes to come out as I will definitely be reading it! Great job!
This age gap story had me in Liam and Min's corner t get their chance for happiness. This age gap romance drew me in and kept me glued to their drama from start to finish!

I didn’t know what to expect from this new to me author. Ms. Dion definitely hit the ball out of the park with this book. I cried and laughed my way through it. In some parts the pacing was too slow but overall, the books was delicious.
These kinks weren’t really MY kinks, but I appreciate the commitment to the spice. I only cared about this story after 50%, there was too much angst and longing in the first half for my taste. Like the angst and longing would’ve been good if it hadn’t been the whole plot, I guess.
