If a secret wolf society thinks they can take me down, they’ve got another thing coming. There’s a reason they call me Graves.
The steamy, crazy Rebels and Psychos series is now in one collection.
It’s not my fault I’m a psychopath. What else would happen to someone who witnessed her sister’s murder? Without magic in my arsenal like the rest of my family, I have to rely on other sharp knives, stealth, and killer instincts. And hey, killing pays the bills.
I’ve been a magical dud all my life, the black sheep of the Falcon witch line, but my family are liars. When I’m stalking my next victim under the blood moon, I sprout fur, sharp teeth, and a fuzzy tail.
It turns out I’m a dual-blood, both a witch and a wolf, and now I’m on the radar of the Crescent Club, one of three ancient societies of witches, wolves, and vampires.
I’m given two move into Blake Hall, a dark gothic mansion in the middle of nowhere, or get my power stripped.
Luckily, I have five dangerous psycho mates on my dominant alpha Dean, insane vampire Slasher, sweet bookish Brannigan, my silent shadow Hugh, and cruel Edison who rejects me but can't deny our chemistry.
Rebels and Psychos is a spicy, snarky, funny paranormal romance with psycho men, a badass FMC, twisted romance, and lots and lots of bloodlust. Secret societies, killer wolves, dangerous vamps, and cunning witches lurk in these pages, but all of them will meet the sharp end of Rebel Falcon’s knife.
Leigh Kelsey is the author of romance and reverse harem books for anyone with a soft spot for steely women and the tortured men who love them. No matter what stories she's writing - vampires or shifters or bad boys - they all share a common thread of love, heart, and action. She is the author of the Lili Kazana series, the Moonlight Inn series, the Dead Space stand alone, and the Blacktower Prison for Supernaturals series, plus many more books.
I'll start by saying that I'm not a huge fan of murder/ assassin stories. Yes, I'm aware that the title tells me what kind of story it would be and that the author gives a warning at the beginning. The story doesn't trigger me. I just don't particularly enjoy reading about people being serial killers and it being justified, regardless of the excuses. I tell you that so my review isn't seen as ridiculous.
Rebel is supposed to be funny in a cutesie kind of way. I didn't find her particularly funny. Occasionally, she was funny. Mostly, I found her annoying. She experiences one traumatic event in her youth and it turns her into a serial killer. I have no idea why when she could've been fine with killing the responsible party and moving on. However, that's what happens.
It's not explained why she has so many mates. She's a witch, so I can see her having the witch mate. But, 2 wolves, 2 vampires, and a witch is weird since it doesn't appear that other people have multiple mates. Why did she? While I didn't have a problem with her having a harem, it would have been nice to know why.
That brings me to other questions.... Why did Rebel not have magic before she got her wolf? Why did the seers not consider her a threat before she got her magic? Why were there trials when they were being forced to be there because seers said they were a threat? None of the trials seemed to have a point to them that would reason why that trial proved them worthy of being at the facility. What was the point? The facility didn't even seem to do anything with the prisoners, so why were they there? What were they supposed to be proving and to whom? Was there an end goal?
I basically felt that there was little to no plot in the series. There was no real relationship build up. All of a sudden a guy would show up and "bam"! Instant mate and physical relationship. The ending kind of leaves you hanging wondering about how they'll be let go from the facility.... If ever. Who's in charge? It ends with the appearance that the students took over the facility. The end. It's just an odd series. While it wasn't the worst series I've read, it was more of a brainless read with no depth of thought necessary.
If you like silly and pointless stories then you'll probably like this.
This is a fun and quirky duet, where it is best to lay aside belief and normal comprehension about how things usually work… because Rebel will pretty much turn it all on it’s head.
Rebel is an Assassin and a dud witch. Or she was, right up until she suddenly turns into a wolf- which pegs her as an apparently dangerously powerful dual witch-wolf. Carted off to Blake Hall, an institution for the rehabilitation of said dangerous persons, she meets up with an array of attractive, dangerous males- kind of a good thing since someone seems to be out to kill her!
This is a funny, and mad tale, and it’s not for those who don’t enjoy darker themed stories. Rebel is crazy, and possibly also suffering PTSD, but not to worry, most of her mates, and the rest of the inmates at Blake Hall are the same way! The rest of the characters are at times, laugh out loud absurd- but in a good way. The book itself is entertaining, the author obviously having come from the Terry Pratchett school of “how to use footnotes”, which adds an amusing commentary to almost the entire book. This one is a book almost in a genre of its own- a twisted, horror/comedy/paranormal tale that will be enjoyed by those who love the monsters, and reverse harem.
It was quite good, fast, and steamy read. I won't do any spoilers but I will say the bad guy was a complete suprise. And FYI, I usually guess it...but not this time. Top loves of this book: 1. Each charcter (FMC, and the guys) all had there own personalities that not once blended with another. Each held true and that alone would make me read more if there is more about Rebel and her family. 2. The smut is 100% 3. Crazy, candy, Snack loving fun
Downfalls or reason for a four star: 1. I got lost during the epic twist. It was pretty fast and almost confusing. I didn't really get what was happening. Though this added to the suprise but you will get what I am talking about when you read. It's the one are that wasn't dragged out in detail. 2. No real background when it comes to the guys....hopefully room for more books.
Overall, yes I would recommend. No, not five stars but dang close. Favorite thing about the book is the pet names. You will understand pretty quickly. I also loved the possessive attitude of all the charcters.
Overall, this duet is amusing, but not laugh out loud funny. I think part of the problem is that the funniest parts of Rebel's internal dialogue are in footnotes, so you have to flip back and forth (or click a lot for kindle) to get that part. You can't skip it though, because the narrative is not particularly funny without those footnotes. But needing to constantly look at the footnotes is jarring. It would have been better if the funny bits were integrated into the main narrative. The last 25% isn't really funny at all. It's a big action scene and then big sex scene, but the footnotes are abandoned, and without the footnotes, there are no funny bits.
Comedy PNR is one of my favorite subgenres, but it's hard to get quite right. This one was fun enough, but fell short. It didn't succeed at being hilarious, but it also didn't succeed at making me care about the story or the characters.
I finished book 1 but wasn't bothered with books 2&3. Rebel is quite annoying and not in a fun Harlequin-esk kind of way although it felt like she was trying to be. Her wolf is cool though. I didn't understand the trials. They were weird Harry Potter style tests that were meant to prove she could stay and she kept failing?!? I really expected more from her. For a psycho and someone who doesn't get scared she sure was scared a lot. Hugh and the crazy vampire are pretty cool. Loved the sweet nicknames but Sexy Sir and that other one can get in the bin.

Honestly, this is the second time I've read this wonderfully funny series. It's been awhile, but it was just as good the second time around! I love the snark of the characters and their interesting, and sure psycho, personalities. Great read with a lot of laughs, how could you go wrong with giving it a chance? I would definitely recommend!
Lmao. There's just something about a bada** b***h and her equally messed up mate or mates that gets me all gooey. Lol. This FMC isn't whiney and TSTL. She is #goals. Just saying. Love the various relationships with her mates. No two are alike and each are perfect for her. Well worth the read.
Let's take account shall we? 2 serial killers, one of whom is mentally unstable. 2 werewolves, both alpha, one of whom is one of the aforementioned serial killers, 2 vampires, one completely unhinged with a penchant for calling the FMC adorable, yet ridiculous dessert names. 1 witch. Yep, sign me up.
An intriguing story and series that allowed a look inside the minds of killers. The author created a story with a unique and complex cast of characters who were equally captivating and refreshing though a few times a bit repulsive. An imaginative tale which became an exhilarating experience.
I love when my favorite books comes in a binge read. Where I can read and not stop. I adore these characters and the crazy psychos. Such a great and amazingly crazy read.
Ok so this fucking book is amazing. I laughed my butt off like constantly. There's these hilarious foot notes and there like little nuggets of fun. I love this series and can't wait to read more.
Love love the characters and the story line! Rebel and her men are awesome! I would read this over and over! Highly recommend to those that love the crazy and murdery MFC and even the guys!
This book series was great. It had all the men and chaos that made my heart happy. There was a good storyline, it was fast-paced and a good amount of twists and turns. Great book. I look forward to reading more from this author.
This was a fun and twisted, unexpected romp! Loved the sarcasm and tone of the FMC. It took a while for the spice to flow, but then flow it did! Five stars and four 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️ for spice.
I really loved this book, I thought the storyline flowed, once it started flowing, and I loved every character. Rebel's sense of humor was spot on, as well as Slasher's, and can I get an order of Edison, for myself 😜
Excellent series couldn't put it down unusely weird and wonderful not to mention bloody funny as help wow absolutely excellent and well deserved five stars would highly recommend this series
She calls one of them "my Sexy Sir" in casual conversations with anyone and everyone. Skipped the last 100 pages and didn't feel like I missed anything.
This duet was enjoyable. I love the footnotes the most. I loved Rebel's Crazy mind and Slasher was so cute as well. I wish there was more of their story.
So you know that voice over where they’re rating books and go “psh this one makes me question things about myself: smash”??? Well that’s currently running through my brain 🙈😂
