From the moment I laid eyes on him, I knew he wasn’t my type. The arrogant, frigid and pompous billionaire was a sure recipe for disaster and heartache.
Been there. Done that. Moving on.
But when tragedy hits, he’s there for me. He offers me a job I can’t afford to refuse.
Things between us start to shift. The passion burning between us is undeniable but there are secrets all around us that could break our fragile bond.
Can we leave the ghosts of our past behind us and look forward to the future?

Workplace romance Billionaire romance Secrets Tension Forced Proximity Marriage of convenience
This book was amazing! I was in a slump before reading it and I read it in one sitting. To be honest I usually do with an Eva Winners book, her writing just has me immersed into the plot and the characters.
The book follows Livy, who is helping her sister out but working for a rude Billionaire and his company. She is still dealing from her mothers death and the secrets she kept and took to the grave with her.
The tragedy mentioned in the blurb??? Yeh, I did not see that coming at all!
The book was perfect, it had heart, banter, tension and a hell of a plot to back it up.
I literally read this in one sitting, I was so intangled in their love story I feel like I stopped breathing a few times. Amazing story line. Even better ending, there were definitely happy tears. This is the type of book you read when you want that warm fuzzy feeling in your heart!
If you want a book with drama, then this is for you! This book had me all up in my emotions 😂 Alexander is the grumpy billionaire that needs a secretary, and Liberty’s sister gets her the job. Liberty works for Alexander for a week and is ready to quit before she strangles him. But a lot of things happen and Liberty’s left in a situation that I didn’t expect.
Apparently Alexander has ties with her family in the past that affected Liberty today, but he becomes obsessed with her and wants to do anything to make sure she is taken care of and to secretly make amends for past situations. When Liberty is left in an overwhelming life changing dilemma, Alexander finds his in and comes up with a plan to have a marriage of convenience to fix her problems. Now she will be tied to him and he has no plans to ever let her go. Liberty went through a LOT in this book, and most of it was in a short period of time! And Alexander helped her through it and became her rock when she needed someone the most. I also loved how his family took Liberty in and really treated her like a part of their family 🖤
The audiobook was done in duet, and the narrators were fantastic! The emotional performances really hit me and even had me crying in a few parts 😂 The only complaint I have is the third act breakup was a little drawn out and I wanted to thump Liberty in the forehead and tell her to go back to Alexander! He loves you stupid! Get out of your head! But she finally realizes this and the HEA ended up being a perfect conclusion to this book 🖤
shoutout to MLA for once again finding me a new author to love! adoration was my first book my eva winners and i had such a good time with this listen! from the moment they meet in the elevator, i knew i was gonna love liberty and alexander. they had so much tension, angst, and passion between them! The story was emotional and heartbreaking at times and the way Alexander cares for liberty in the aftermath was really sweet. they worked so well together but definitely had their clashing moments, mainly due to alexander’s brooding personality🤭
dual narration by Vivienne LaRue @viviennelarue & Shane East @shaneeastreads and it is perfection! shane perfectly captures the brooding possessive nature of alexander and vivienne shines at bringing liberty’s strong determined personality to life!
special nod to my favorite character: brandon!!! 🥹
read if you life: 💰billionaire romance 💍Marriage of convenience ❤️🔥workplace romance 💰boss/secretary 💍the sweetest family dynamics ❤️🔥angsty tension
ADORATION: deep love and respect. “All my love and adoration belongs to you, Alexander.” The beginning of the book left me weeping, what a way to connect with a character! Liberty believes everyone leaves. But Alexander is here forever, whether she knows it or not. Alexander Caldwell is a man who knows what he wants and is willing to get it by any means. Aka arrogant, rude, and a Neanderthal. I won’t give details on Liberty because her characters life is tragically beautiful and it’s worth a read, that’s the only way to do her justice! This is book 2 of the Love isn’t what it seems series,(and my new favorite, sorry Lachlan🤣). This book was like a storm for me I cried through the hard parts but in the end I made it to the other side and saw beautiful clear skies aka a happy ending X’s 3 😉‼️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and if you haven’t read anything by Eva Winners this book would be an EXCELLENT place to start you will not be displeased. Also shoutout to little towns in Maryland and may we all dance to a country song with our loved ones🥰.
“I wanted those eyes worshiping me, full of adoration for me, everyone before us forgotten.”
Eva Winners does it again. And each time, the books get better and better. I thought that Devotion, the previous book in this series was good and the hero, Lachlan was drool worthy. But he has nothing on Alexander. The focus of his possessive, over the top, “she’s mine” thoughts and actions is Liberty, a woman who has lost just about everyone in her life and may lose the last one without Alexander’s help. Will their business arrangement become more? Will past secrets bring them closer together or will they tear them apart? Winners weaves a delicious tale of love, betrayal and redemption in this wonderfully crafted story of broken people coming together to become whole. A must read.
Where to start with this, I bawled during this book! And not in a gosh this sucks but omg I was feeling what the characters where! I got sucked into this book and didn’t put it down stayed up till 2am reading it, was beyond worth the lack of sleep, I loved the characters in this book and even if Alexander made me wanna smack him a few times he still was amazing! Trust me you want to read this book just have tissues near by.
I completely wrapped myself up in this story from the first page. I loved how Alexander and Livy really challenged and questioned their chemistry because it was so intense. Definitely a slow burn considering what it took for them to finally come together but thats also when their relationship was truly tested since there was so many hidden truths. I loved the sweet moments and couldn’t get enough of the steamy scenes.
Highly recommend and I can’t wait to see who gets their story told next
Liberty goes to work for Alexander's company. There is friction between the 2. Liberty suffers several losses, and does not know much about her past. Love between Liberty and Alexander grows, but so do the secrets.
I absolutely love this book, beautifully written, endearing, l felt every emotion possible!

Get your tissues ready!!! This book had me sobbing, the emotion in it was so strong. As much as i loved the first book in this series this one is my favourite. I'm eagerly awaiting book 3 ❤
I jumped right in! This is the first book I’ve read by this author and to say I was pleasantly surprised is more than an understatement. Drawn into the emotional morass of Liberty’s life I never knew what to expect next. Will Alexander be able to break down her emotional walls and win her love? Be prepared to put the book aside for short “emotional recovery” breaks, as the story is exceedingly emotional! Definitely not “light reading”! (I’m planning on reading Devotion shortly!) I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Oh my gosh! There are no words to describe how amazing this book is. I was blown away from the beginning to the very end. The plot was exceptional. Lots of twist and turns to keep you guessing. The characters are extremely well developed. I could easily relate to Liberty. The chemistry between her and Alexander was so explosive my iPhone almost melted (BTW my panties did!)The storyline flowed smoothly throughout. This is my first time reading this author. I can tell you it won’t be the last! I’m hoping maybe we’ll get Maxim’s story in the future.
I voluntarily read and reviewed a free copy of this book.
Alexander and Liberty give you all the feels! Alexander the brute is possessive in all the best ways and has you head over heels the whole way. Liberty is doing her best to recover from her loss and convince herself that not everyone leaves. If a snotty nose and drama are your thing then this is a must read! You won't put it down once you start!
This is the first book I have read from this author and I am a huge fan now! Adoration was such a good read. I had only read the first couple of sentences of the synopsis so I didn’t see the accident with her sister coming. I could not put this book down. I was on the edge of my seat to see what was going to happen next. It was a touching story with all the emotions. And a hea. I cannot recommend this book enough!
First off this is NSFW!! If you plan on reading this book make sure you have tissues on hand. So if you read Devotion then you will notice we have a returning character. So when I started reading this book and Calen's name came up and reading what he did, I was shocked. I did not see that coming. So Liberty becomes a jilted bride on the day of her wedding. Well as time goes by she remains to herself but you see that she has issues. Which stem from many different things. Her and her sister moved from the US to Scotland to start over. Why does she need to start over you ask? Well its heart breaking to tell you. So you need to read to find out. So as she is making ends meet, her sister asks for her help to do a secretarial job for a big time company. Now the elevator scene is hilarious and I loved it. So when she meets Alexander he pretty much takes her breath away but also rubs her the wrong way. He seems to a have a RDF you know the male version of RBF. He is seems to have that whole I own everything, and he gets what he wants. So Liberty cannot stand it and she is not afraid of him which is funny. He seems to be entranced by her but does not show it. Then Liberty's world gets turned upside down and Alexander is there for her. She sees a different side of him. He gives her an offer to help her out. She is doesn't think that it will work but it could if she gives it a chance. However there are secrets that could destroy them or will she manage to ruin it herself. Alexander just wants her to adore him and no one else. He will not give up and will do whatever because he needs her in his life. What will she do? This is definitely heart-breakingly good. As you learn more about both Alexander and Liberty, you can clearly see that they are meant for each other. Their chemistry is off the charts and hot as hades. Eva Winners this book is amazing and I cannot wait to read more of your work.

dnf @ 47% wow the characters were so flat and 2D, the dialogue was so cringe. i cannot believe how many 4 and 5 star ratings this book has. maybe im the one not reading the same book as everyone else 😭
I chose to read this book based on the incredibly evocative blurb. It was a thoroughly entertaining story filled with unbelievable emotion and love. I cannot wait to read the rest of the books from this author.
I requested a copy of this book so I could provide an honest review.
I do so love a Eva Winners story as her talent is so amazing that we all need her books in our lives! Holy hell, poor Liberty, the things this girl went through with life's mean hits would have had me under my blankets never to get up, and I could totally feel her pain like it was my own. She told herself she couldn't stand the arrogant billionaire, Alexander, who really did come off rude quite a bit. She has to get it together, and pleads to him for a job, so from there on out, their real journey begins. Alexander knows what he wants, and he wants Liberty but it is slow going. There's no doubt that the sparks they create are potent and it's only a matter of time before those sparks really ignite. And if that wasn't enough goodness, there are secrets that don't make friends swirling about and it's only a matter of time before they're revealed which left me on the edge of my seat waiting. Adoration is an emotional story that I couldn't get enough of, and I believe you'll feel the same way so what are you waiting for?! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
loved it !!! love this series !!! Love Alexander !!! swoon worthy , truly !!! Love liberty !!! so broken... fast paced emotional heart breaking story...keep tissues ready.

So many secrets, pain, loss and love. This book has it all. Livy has been through so much and it feels like the hits keep on coming, but she is strong and loves fiercely. Alexander is hard and ruthless, but when secrets are revealed and truths come to light, will these two survive?? Definitely a must read romance.
WOW!!! Eva is such an amazing writer. Fell in love with this book from the first page. Had me hook line and sinker. I cried through this to know how much one person can lose the people that she loves the most in the her world and then to fight to love again to not get hurt. To have that one person rock your world in so many ways. I had trouble putting it down.
ADORATION is the second instalment in Eva Winner’s contemporary, adult LOVE ISN’T WHAT IT SEEMS erotic, romance series. This is forty-five year old, billionaire businessman Alexander Caldwell, and secretary/ ghost writer Liberty Smith’s story line. ADORATION can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary. Some of the events of ADORATION, cross over with and run parallel to some of the events of book one DEVOTION. ADORATION is the re-release of the author’s 2021 book of the same name .
NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Alexander and Liberty) ADORATION follows the tempestuous relationship between our story line couple. Alexander Caldwell claimed he needed a new secretary and used a temp agency to secure access to our story line heroine. Liberty Smith’s is an American born ghost writer who moved to the UK with her late mother and adopted sister Lena, and agreed to help Lena with her latest temp agency contract but from the outset Liberty struggled to find her place at Caldwell Enterprise, and any sort of detente with the man in charge. Alexander Caldwell’s attraction to Liberty was out of control, and his need to claim Liberty only added to his obsession with our story line heroine but tragedy would strike, and a marriage of convenience ensued, a marriage Liberty struggled to accept was real.
The world building follows several intersecting pathways including death and grief, secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, forgiveness and love. The connection between Alexander and Liberty began years before, a connection our heroine knew nothing about. As the Caldwell family secrets and skeletons slowly reveal, Liberty battles between head and heart in the face of dishonesty, heart break and continued loss.
The relationship between Liberty and Alexander begins acrimoniously. Alexander is often angry and rude much to Liberty’s confusion, and in this, our heroine struggles to work for a man who is at war with himself. As their relationship slowly turns into something more, the revelation of more secrets threatens any chance of a happily ever after for our story line couple. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
There is a large ensemble cast of colorful, energetic and sometimes questionable secondary and supporting characters. We are introduced to Liberty’s friends Layla, Lena and Larry, and their son Brandon ; Alexander’s brother Maxim, their father Alexander II, and grandfather Alexander I.
ADORATION is a story of grief and loss, secrets and lies, forgiveness and love. The character driven premise is heart breaking, emotional and dramatic; the romance is edgy ; the characters are determined, charismatic, broken yet struggling to heal.
I love when a book pulls me in from the very start. And Adoration did just that. From page one the story had my attention and kept it till the last page. I loved all the characters. Well except one. The main characters and the secondary characters are an amazing bunch of individuals and an incredible group of friends. I really liked Liberty, aka Livy. She is such a giving and caring lady. But she’s also sassy and capable, strong and resilient. Alexander is cunning and calculating. He runs his family’s empire, has the responsibility of them all on his shoulders. In business he’s ruthless and does want needs to be done to achieve his goals and objectives. The minute he sees Livy those traits bleed into his personal life. He wants her and will have her at all costs. I could feel the tension and sexual energy between these two. Things with them are intense and bursting with so much energy. Their banter is entertaining. I loved the elevator scene lol. The push and pull matches their personalities to a tee. Just when I think they have a chance and I’m breathing a sigh of relief. Nope. Secrets, lies and the past have come colliding and avalanching in the present. I really enjoyed reading Livy and Alexander’s story. The revelations, the truths and the lies that are revealed are stunning. I did not see all that coming. It added and enhanced to Alexander and Livy’s story. Took nothing away from the budding romance. The struggles, issues and the ghosts of the past added more complexity to their story. These two absolutely deserved to find peace and contentment. They both deserved to find love and get their HEA. **4.5 stars**
I loved Adoration so much! I am a huge fan of this author’s mafia books, so I was very excited to listen to this workplace love story. The angst was so good! These characters go through it and the book ripped my heart out so many times.
Liberty is doing her sister a favor when she interviews to be Alexander's secretary. Her sister just opened a new temp agency and the placement is very important. However, she didn’t make the best first impression at the interview. However, Liberty and Alex are actually connected in so many ways. These two are both drowning in secrets and my heart was beating so hard as everything was revealed.
These characters really go through so much, especially Liberty. She was really left to deal with the emotional wreckage of so many people’s actions. I loved the family she built with Alexander.
The audiobook is narrated in duet by Shane East and Vivienne Larue. Both of these narrators brought so much to their characters. I am a long time fan of Shane’s, but Vivienne was a new narrator for me. I always love Shane as a growly possessive MMC, but Vivienne was the perfect Liberty. I can’t wait to listen to more with her.
Adoration is the second book in the Love Isn’t What it Seems series, and I can’t wait for Revelation, which will be about Layla and Maxim.

Alexander and Livy
Eva Winners delivers another emotional story. The way I’m constantly surprised by her books is a testament to a great storyteller. This isn’t the first time I’ve settle into one of her romances only to be blindsided by a twist that changes the whole trajectory and hits me right in the heart. These characters were amazing, particularly Livy, with her relatable navigation of a life altering change. I was already a fan of her mafia series and now I see her range is limitless.
This audio production gets all the stars. Shane East is the epitome of a voice actor in every sense of the word. The talent at bringing so much emotion to life has me in awe every time I listen to one of his audios. Vivienne LaRue also gave such a passionate performance. Her voice is so beautiful and she made this one such an easy listen. I will not ever pass up an Eva Winners audiobook!
This was a totally different vibe then what I’ve read from Eva in the past, mostly mafia, and I loved this!!
This was such a surprise, and honestly kind of more emotional than I was expecting. Nearly got me there. 🥹 I’ll just say my flabber was gasted at what happened, and I was blindsided lol. 😆
If you know me, you know I love me a JP mmc, and Alexander fed me what I needed to be fed. I mean the man orchestrated a marriage between him and Liberty just cause he wanted her so bad. 😍 I really enjoyed their chemistry and the banter between them. And I really loved the relationship they built with Brandon, that was super sweet. 🥰
While this isn’t dark romance, I still say you should check the content warnings, because this does deal with grief and loss and I know that’s hard to read about. But I do think this was done beautifully in that regard.
Shane East and Vivienne LaRue performing duet narration was absolutely spectacular. They really nailed these two characters and all of the emotionally charged moments. I thoroughly enjoyed this an audio and I do recommend listening to this!
I can’t wait for more in the series to come to audio! Especially Maxim’s book! 🫶🏼
I'm just going to say it. I didn't like the FMC, Liberty/Livy. I found her character emotionally immature and unprofessional from the start. I felt the chip on her shoulder when one of her best friends, and "sister", Lena, asked her to work as the assistant to the CEO of Caldwell Enterprises, when she would rather be reading manuscripts in publishing. After assuming guardianship of her four year old nephew, Brandon, she still behaved like a single woman in her twenties with no responsibilities, and openly bad-mouthing her boss in front of an impressionable toddler. Unbeknownst to Liberty, Alexander Caldwell held a lot of secrets that involved her mother and his family. For three quarters of the book, the reader was waiting for the big reveal and what effect it would have on Livy. I almost gave up on the entire story because of Livy's waffling behavior, but I've read more recent stories by this author and trusted her to finish with a flourish for this frustrating couple. In the end, I still didn't like Livy's character and didn't feel like she evolved at all. I liked the man Alexander became after all the family secrets came out. I really enjoyed his brother, Maxim's character, and I look forward to his story.
