This is book one in a why choose paranormal romance series. This title was previously published as Emerald but has since undergone a rewrite and extra added scenes.
Book: Embracing Emerald Read By: Ebook Author: Jenna Lee Genre: Reverse Harem, Fantasy Recommend: Yes < b>Age recommendation: 18-30+ Years My feelings:
We are introduced to Dara, a 25-year-old woman living a mundane life, unaware of the magical world and her true identity as a princess within it. One fateful day, she is unexpectedly whisked away and thrust into this world by four strikingly handsome warriors who have vowed to protect her and guide her back home. Dara's interactions with them range from timid and nervous to bold and infatuated, creating an unpredictable dynamic that keeps readers on their toes. The ever-evolving plot is rife with twists and turns, constantly leaving readers on the edge of their seats until the shocking end. Be prepared for an emotional rollercoaster that may require tissues or a breakable object to cope. While the book currently falls under the young adult genre, based on the author's track record, it remains uncertain if explicit scenes will be incorporated throughout the series, adding another layer of intrigue to this captivating tale.

Okay so it's written like twitches(the Disney movies) but sexualized I feel like the story alone might be cute if I wasn't told basically everything in the prologue of the story and the character interactions just don't feel natural to me
We follow Dara who goes from a very normal life as a 25 year old, to learning her past as a princess of a different world with magic. She has 4 gorgeous warriors that are sworn to protect her and are the ones who bring her back home. Dara seems hot and cold with them, which is a little challenging to follow (are you shy and nervous around them or bold and panting after them?) It very much depends on the moment so as a reader you never know what is coming next.
I love the plot of the story and how they move through it! It is consistently moving and leaves you with a "WHAT?!" towards the end, so have tissues or a smashable vase nearby so you don't hurt the book itself.
As of right now, I think a young adult could read the book and really enjoy it, but based on the author's other writings, I am not sure if that would continue through the series in regards to spicy scenes.
It was an interesting book, it focused mainly on the female lead characters point of view but we did get a rare version of one of her men/warriors. I found the beginning of the book, was well described. It was easy to like her character. We got some insight during the prologue to why she was a foster kid. It broke my heart. After she meets all the guys on the night of her birthday, it sorta had missing spots. More like, emotions, actions, training, went from zero to a hundred with not build up at all. Someone else’s review likened it to a Disney movie “twitch”, justa dirtier version. That was a perfect description. It wasn’t bad per se, but I didn’t always feel a natural connection between the female lead character and her guys. The plot was easy to enjoy, even if it was super basic. If there was more natural build up, it easily could a been a 4.5 stars.
Dara sent to earth from her home in Silvia by her father, after the death of her mother. With her memories wiped she is sent to live and be safe from Uncle. After 15 years with no memories things start to happen and 4 men crash into her life and change everything she thought she knew. Declan, Blair, Harlan, Oliver are her personal protectors, but they are so much more, but with her memories gone she doesn't know who anyone is. With her Uncle bringing danger and more to herhohome, she has to remember everything, including her power or lose everyone and everything. An amazing read, with unexpected twist, turns, action, and some steam, things get interesting and you won't be able to put it down. So can't wait for the next.
I thought it would be okay from the opening, even if I didn't understand why they needed to take Dara's memories. She seemed like she understood what was going on and why she had to be sent away.
Then we meet her when she's turning 25 and she is just a hot mess. Once the guys take her back to Silvia, I expected things to get better, but no. I can't even tell you how many times I rolled my eyes with this cheesy dialogue and the thoughts that were going through her head.
I will definitely not be continuing unless a book in this series fits a challenge task and I can't find anything else.
Wowza. This was a fabulous read and I just couldn’t put it down. Dara is from a place called Silvia, a princess actually and has her powers and memories bound. Sent to Earth to live a normal life until 4 handsome warriors are becoming known to Dara. Life as she knows it changes in a blink of an eye and Dara finds herself back home. The forest, trees and nature were always calling to Dara and now she understands why. What an enchanting place Silvia is and Harlan, Declan, Blair, Oliver and Jolie will help her claim her destiny and save Silvia.
I had higher hopes of more world and character building for this book. I felt like while it had good plot, it was more suited for a YA genre with a bit of spicy language. It's a paranormal fantasy, but felt like it was lacking something I couldn't quite pinpoint. while I would love to know the outcome of the story, I don't feel like the writing is a good fit for me.
Such a great book. Dara is fighting to get back to where she belongs.. and to restore her home. The friends she makes and bonds they're starting to form should provide an advantage.. but will they?? Cannot wait for the next book!
First of the fantasy series with sweet, naive main female character. I love how she feels the bond with her warriors before she remembers them. It's definitely a finding her feet type of book and I can't wait to see her grow.
A normal humans life has been turned on her 25th birthday taking her back to her home with her warriors. I can't wait to read About the journey for Topaz! I wish there was more male POV though !
DNF... I couldn’t finish this book. The main character and the plot were just too predictable, making it hard to stay engaged. The FMC's reactions felt unnatural and didn’t resonate with me, which made it difficult to continue reading.
This is a slow burn book. keeps you on your toes wanting to know more all the while the passion between the characters continues to grow. Ends on a cliffhanger and I can't wait to read more.
This book was good! I loved all the characters and that they learned about their previous connections. Dara and Blair were my favorite. I can’t wait to continue the series.
To be honest I am a little on the fence with this book. I love the whole concept behind the story and the opening chapter really frappes my attention. I thought the characters are all very unique and being so much to the story, however one Dara was with the guys I could not relate to her as much. She was very hot and cold and at times I was confused by her behaviour. When she was with her friends I enjoyed her character but could not warm to her when she was shifting moods so much. How we towards the end of the book I started to enjoy reading about her more. I like the connection that she has with the guys but this is definitely a slow burn book so don’t expect too much…hopefully that will start coming in book two. But holy cliffhanger…that ending really had me wanting to keep reading so I have hope that book two will grab my attention and have me fully invested in the story. Overall this is a good first book with a unique and intriguing new world that is created by this talented author and has me wanting to read more.
Very cliche, with lots of tropes and stereotypes found in these kinds of fantasy books. Not bad but I couldnt give a higher rating as it didnt feel very original at all. Still a good palette cleanser type read
