Write a query letter that gets an agent's attention Build an effective marketing platformCreate a timeless bestseller Packed with interviews from best-selling authors, leading book editors from Penguin Random House, Simon & Schuster, HarperCollins, Hachette, and more, Get Signed is the indispensable roadmap you need right now to get noticed and become a published author.
Such an easy read full of tangible, useful guidance for writers. I really appreciated the advice on choosing your title, and the different types of authors there are (and considering how I can leverage my natural “type”). Plenty of examples of language to be used in a query or correspondence with potential agents- my book is underlined and marked to come back to time and again through this process!
I picked up some great suggestions from this book. Although, some of the stories about other authors were a little long. I like just the facts. So that’s about me.
The bottom line is you need a well written book and a built in following. There's no getting around it. But the book gives good guidance for trying to land an agent. It forgets about the luck needed though.
As a debut author I am very encouraged to keep on looking for representation to publish my book. There isn’t a magic bullet but this has helped me be realistic in my dream of publishing my work. Thank you Lucinda! I definitely will send you a query! LK
