Rich, successful, privileged are a few of the words that describes the course of his life. Not only is he a gifted author, Darren Metcalf also has the ability to leave his body and wander where-ever he chooses in his spirit form. Lately, however, without consciously willing himself to, he has found his astral self in strange places. Detective Teddy O'Haleran Jr. is angry and frustrated. Someone has been kidnaping children and killing them in a ritualistic fashion. Teddy leads the task-force assigned to bring the perpetrators to justice, but he is always several steps behind the killer or killers.
