Sleeping with the Demigod of Desire could cost Deacon his life, but falling for him could cost him everything.

Deacon St. James' search for his missing brother has led him straight into the arms of one of the Deadly Sins that rule the world. Lust is charming, captivating and powerful and Deacon all too willingly falls to his knees at his command. The connection and heat between them could consume him whole, if he lets it.

The forbidden fruit has never tasted so good.

As one of the Seven Deadly Sins, Lust has the world at his fingertips, never wanting for anything. From the moment Deacon walks into his life, Lust is enamored by the spirited man who can shake off the very magic that he uses to control the world. Once he has him in his bed, Lust has no intention of letting him go.

Nothing is as it seems and survival is a fickle beast.

The harder Lust falls, the more everything falls apart around him. Enemies plot from the shadows, and secrets that both Lust and Deacon hold have the potential to destroy them from the inside. If they’re going to survive, they have to learn what it means to trust… and to love.

When the first strike lands, will they risk it all for a glimpse of a future together?

Lust is a high steam MM urban fantasy romance with dark themes, morally grey characters, violence, gore, and adult situations. It has a happily-for-now (HFN) for the couple featured, and ends on a plotline cliffhanger.

Well I'm hooked on this series already! I loved the Horsemen series and honestly any author that can make me love a Labrador sized spider (miss you Paul!!) when I have severe arachnophobia is always going to be a favourite!

I loved the set up for the ongoing plot where there's going to be a war between the seven deadly sins and the Light Fae, plus there's so much mystery surrounding the fate of the Dark Fae and whoever 'the order' are! I'm anticipating that this will carry on throughout the series and we won't get any real resolutions until the final book - but like I said, I'm already all in and can't wait to see where this series goes.

I actually really liked Lust and Deacon together too. They're both untrusting but their instant connection definitely made for an engaging story. I'm excited to learn more about Deacon in future books, and I already have two Sins I'm very eager to read about - Envy and Greed!

I'm diving straight into Gluttony's story next...

This was a 3.5 for me. Story wise, it's pretty great. This author is very talented. I fucking LOVE the Horsemen series from this author (omg I'm waiting and wanting for Atlas' story sooooo bad). Although I didn't like this book as much Horsemen, it was a decent kick off to the series.

✅️ The world is interesting, and the basis for the magic is fairly unique. The seven Sins have been around since forever, but they're not the only magic/supernatural creatures, far from it. Lust and Deacon are drawn to each other, and Lust can't figure out why a human like Deacon is immune to his magic. But both men are hiding things from the other, and their secrets threaten to destroy what they both desire--each other.

✅️ I really liked the characters and the story progression. I had a lot of fun reading it. It snares you and makes you want to keep reading until you're done or pass out, whichever occurs first. I'm very interested to see how all the larger plot elements involving other magical beings evolves, especially knowing what the author did with the Horsemen series. Deacon was slightly annoying here in the beginning, but it's not egregious. These two are very passionate and hot together, and there's plenty of sex weaved into this.

I have a few issues, though, which is why I can't do a 4.5 or 5 star. Before I get into that, it's worth noting that this book feels similar-ish to the Horsemen books. That's not a bad thing, and it's definitely not a copy/regurgitation of anything. I wasn't ever bored or thinking I was repeating something I'd already seen. But the Sins did remind me a bit of the Horsemen, hence my references to that series here and there.

Also, for more context before I talk about issues, keep in mind that these Sins aren't good people. They are heartless in a lot of ways, including Lust, who is arguably one of the more tame of the group. For example, (this is a teeny tiny spoiler maybe but probably not) since Lust has control over people's desires, he can literally make them fuck themselves to death. Like, fuck and fuck and fuck continously until they die. It didn't happen on page, but he flatly says he's done it more than once just on a whim or to get off on it. There's also a lot of reference to killing people in a variety of horrible ways, such as hollowing out their minds and making them mindless drones for a workforce. There is basically no empathy whatsoever for people (innocent or not), and the Sins see themselves as gods over humans, and humans are basically their slaves to do with as they please. Lust says that almost verbatim to Deacon. So, don't go into this book thinking that the Sins are going to be redeemed or that Lust is a great guy. And, that's where my first issue starts...

❌️ Deacon is a man of principle but then forgets it. Going into the first chapter, it's clear that he has strong opinions on how the Sins abuse their power. They are evil in his mind, and he's right. He is appalled by their violence and careless treatment/torture of humans. He sees more and more of it as time goes by while he's in the company of Lust. But he just seems to... forget that he cares? Not really sure, but he just starts accepting all of this abhorrent shit from Lust because he's in luuuuvvvvv. Alright, I get that he's in love and that he can't just walk away because of that, but he shouldn't just be blindly accepting it either, based on his own character setup.

If a book establishes a character as a piece of shit psychopath, and then they go and do piece of shit psychopath things, I'm cool with it. I may hate their character for it, but it's consistent. But when a character is established to be a morally sturdy person that abhors what the Sins do to people, but then suddenly becomes cool with it all to the point of not even batting an eye, you're gonna need to convince me how that evolution (regression) happened. I didn't get that explanation at all, and it seems that Deacon has just given in to being an evil accessory to the Sins domination of humanity by way of his relationship with Lust.

I expected Deacon to challenge Lust more than he did, and I expected to see some movement on Lust's part to be better. Not a perfect person, just better than thinking about making people fuck themselves to death. Or at least on the road to that redemption. This. book doesn't deliver that, and it's disappointing. Yes, it's a "dark" book, but it seems to be made with the intention of "brightness arising from the darkness." But it didn't quite get there, that's the problem.

The book Conquest, from the author's Horsemen series, is a good example of how to properly handle that arc. Raziel (Conquest's eventual lover) is a very innocent angel who abhors violence, and Conquest is the exact opposite. He'd kill for the fun of it, torture for entertainment. He even tortured Raziel himself. But slowly over the course of the book, Conquest becomes less and less outwardly violent simply because it really bothers Raziel to see his lover carelessly hurt people. Raziel stands his ground on his beliefs of being good to people, and Conquest meets him there as much as he reasonably can because he loves Raziel. It's well executed and believable. It's also a great love story. That book is on my favorites of all time list.

Lust and Deacon fell short of that, but Deacon is supposedly just as strongly principled as Raziel. I just didn't really believe how fast he'd lose/forget his morals.

That being said, I think if this book were 100 pages longer, it wouldn't have been much of an issue. The author would have had more time to construct tension points between Lust and Deacon after they were together, situations that would force Deacon to speak up against harming innocents and Lust would be forced to reflect on whether he wants to be better for Deacon in that way. It's not unreasonable to assume the author is going in that direction, but we aren't shown that, and the next book deals with a different pair.

So in that sense, the book feels a bit rushed and incomplete towards the end.

❌️ Tangential to that point, the conflict resolution between Lust and Deacon was a problem for me. Without getting into spoilers, let's just say they are both hiding stuff from one another, except one of the secrets is way worse. It leads to a fucked up situation where Lust says some very hurtful things to Deacon. When they have their eventual reconciliation, it's not satisfying. It's over within a couple paragraphs. There needed to be way more said about it from both sides. It's possible to see/assume the characters feel remorseful for their actions against the other, but there's very little showing of that. It's a problem, and it leaves me with a sour taste for their relationship.

---

Other than those two issues (which are pretty important to me) there wasn't much else wrong with it. It's entertaining, as all Sienna Moreau books are. I don't regret reading it, and I'll re-read it right before the next comes out. Sienna Moreau is on my auto-buy author list... a list that is incredibly short. I'll definitely be continuing the series.

So don't take this review as a damnation of the book, it's not. It's rather a more critical look into the relationship aspects and what it would take to make this a 4.5+ star for me instead of 3.5.

If you liked the Horsemen series, I highly recommend this book. If you haven't read Horsemen, I strongly advise you do so!

Special note for those that care: there is NO S/M between Lust and Deacon. Lust is very much into pleasure, not pain. So they both enjoy lots and lots of pleasure. Even when he was furious, Lust didn't hurt Deacon during sex. Surprise masochism is one of my most hated tropes, so I wanted to be explicit for anyone that might also care about that.

This story is set in a time and place where
‘Seven demigods—each embodying one of the seven deadly sins—that ruled over the world with iron fists.’

Deacon, a homicide detective , is looking for his missing brother Conor . His search leads him to Lust.

‘A throne, positioned in front of the large four-poster bed in the middle of the room. Covered in vines, large fully open roses a burst of color across it. And someone sitting on it. Not just anyone. The Demigod of Desire. Lust.’

The first time Lust see’s Deacon , remember it when reading book 2 because it will be more meaningful.

“Lust couldn’t remember the last time he’d been intrigued by anyone. If he ever had. Pursuits of the flesh only ever left him wanting, with an uncomfortable aftertaste like ash and an aching heart filled with a strange sense of guilt. He’d given up on finding a reason or a cure a long time ago.”

Deacon is immune to Lusts powers but that doesn’t stop the sexual chemistry.

Unfortunately Lust keeps Deacon locked at his house, unknowingly because of his brother and what happened with the Demogods.

There’s talk of light fae. There’s Chimera’s. Demons.

After some sexy times Lust decides to himself that Deacon is his and he will keep him.

‘He did know this man; deep inside, Lust was sure he’d met him before. His soul knew those brown eyes, those lips, that deep intelligence, and that prickly disposition. Their souls had touched before, a meeting long past lost to time. Who are you, Deacon St. James?’

Lazarus, Lust’s right hand man, looks into Deacons background and finds out there’s nothing to be found before he turned 8 years old and nothing about having a brother. Someone has hidden the information but who? Why? What was so important that it needed to be erased?

Lust releases Deacon. Deacon has a contact helping him find his brother, which leads him to a building Lust owns. Where Lust is. There’s the usual push and pull between them, the sexual tension and the mystery of Conor’s whereabouts.

‘It was an inadequate way to describe just how Lust had broken him. He’d completely turned Deacon inside out and made him feel things he’d never experienced before. There was an ache deep in his gut, an emptiness like a gaping hole that had been ripped open.’

After sexy times, a silver necklace appears around Lusts neck, while a white key tattoo is found over Deacon’s heart. Deacon is all like what the fuck but then falls back into orgasmic bliss with Lust.

Lust finds Deacons phone and reads his messages. He’s hurt and thinks Deacon is playing him. Poor Lust, he just wants to love Deacon but secrets are keeping them apart and his brothers want to kill Deacon.

More chimera’s, blood and action. Deacon saves Lusts life by sacrificing his own … or so he thinks. But he survives it and is healed . He’s not a human but what is he ?

It’s the night of the Gala and Deacon meets up with his contacts. They hand in a syringe of nothing good to inject into Lust. Deacon isn’t about to do that but plays along. Lust catches them and feels betrayed.

“Tell me why.” “I already told you!” Deacon snapped. He tried to straighten and push forward, and Lust tightened his hold, securing him against the wall. “I want my brother!” he choked out, tears springing at the corners of his eyes. It was all he’d ever wanted. Why couldn’t Lust have just helped him? Why did they have to get to this point?’

Lust feels alone in his feelings towards Deacon and questions him. There’s more action, more revelations and the big dramatic climax.

I love you’s are exchanged.

‘His chain had changed, and now a locket in the shape of a heart was resting against his chest, a keyhole in the center. “That’s…” Deacon pressed a hand to the tattoo over his chest. A key. To this locket? Metaphorical at the least. He couldn’t pull the key off his chest and use it. “You own me,” Lust said. “And now we’re connected.”

A well written Fantasy/smut book series.

Oh, how this book will grab ahold of you and won't let go. I don't think I've read a book by this author under this alias, I have read books by Aurora Crane (Sienna is the same author but under a different pen name) but I've never read books of hers under this penname. So, for me, seeing the difference in her writing styles when she write a different genre than what I'm used to reading by her, was immensely fascinating. How her writing style shifts with the genre she's writing is so extraordinary, how she manages to make it seem like there's two separate people writing these books is absolutely astonishing. And I mean this in the best way possible. I'm honestly floored!

This book starts of with impeccable detail to the world in which those story takes place in. We as readers are thrusted into Lust's mansion, and are taken along on Deacon's journey of him trying to discover the secrets behind his brother's disappearance. Besides the world building being so detailed the characters are as well! Each one tells a different story, and each one makes your mind wander. When each brother got introduced I was immediately captivated by each one, and I desperately wanted to know what their story is. What makes them tick? What story are they going to tell? And when an author can create side characters that captivate you as much as the MC's you know they are a good writer.

The plot line is so so good! I will note that this did end on a HFN. There is a cliffhanger in regards to the main storyline. A lot of questions did not get answered, but the way the book ended definitely set it up for some of those questions to get answered in the next book. Which is super exciting!! I thought the way the scenes and secrets were written was really well done, it kept you on the edge of your seat, and I was trying to figure out what secret the sins were keeping right alongside Deacon.

I cannot wait to see what else is to come in this series full of Sins, and if the other books are anything like this one then we will all be held captive by these Sins.

The only problem with this book is that it ends. I could read five books about these two and it still wouldn’t be enough. The chemistry, the steam, the tension. I’m swooning over here. 🔝

There are not enough stars to rate the awesomeness of this book. The Sins have been around since the beginning of time and are the leaders of the world. Deacon is a police officer and he went to get answers from Lust regarding his brother. When they met, Deacon thought that Lust was manipulating him with his magic to desire him. As we later found out, it wasn’t the case. The story starts from there as Lust and Deacon figure out their relationship with secrets between them. There is lots of action, chemistry, high heat and love. I cannot wait to read the next book as they figure out what to do next. I recommend this book; you will not be disappointed.

This is my first read by this author. She's been on my TBR for some time but for whatever reason I haven't gotten around to picking up any of her books…until now. I have an opportunity to read Gluttony and thought I'd better dive in here first.

So, the premise - I love this. How could the seven deadly sins not be a great basis for a not merely morally grey but downright bad boy family of brothers? It works so well for me, in the understanding that these characters are capable of and (off page) do some really horrible things to people they're supposed to rule over without regret or any twinge of conscience. And it is all of them…although the MC here is Lust, we're given decent introductions to the majority and the rest are at least referenced so we know who we're dealing with here. The backdrop for this is some very good world building of a Denver that's home to the Sins but also has a history that most can't remember, which brings other dangers into play. There are threats lurking and Lust and his brothers are convinced that Deacon St James is one of them.

What follows is a kind of psychological cat and mouse game where both Deacon and Lust almost immediately after their first encounter are looking for answers to unlock a mystery - Deacon to find his missing brother and Lust to understand who and what are behind Deacon’s appearance in his life. There's questioning and mistrust along the way as well as a healthy dose of heat…of course, how else is this going to play out?!

So far so good, so why don't I love this as much as I thought I would? I think it's because Deacon is portrayed as a bit of a white knight going into Lust’s lair from the outset. He has a pure-hearted mission in finding his missing brother and, although he's used unusual methods to get closer to the truth, there's no feeling that he's compromised his morals. But almost as soon as he's around Lust for the smallest amount of time he seems to totally forget who he is - there's a passage just before the big reveal at the end where he talks about being a cop and honouring the badge and I was all ‘where’s that been all this time?’, especially with some of the doubts that he and Lust have about each other. There was one event especially that felt glossed over when Lust and Deacon resolved their issues. It all came down to me just not being sold on the character completely ignoring who he is when his lover has no redemption arc - like I said, unashamedly bad…not really morally grey - which felt like a missed connection between the two MCs.

For all of that, there is a really intriguing cliffhanger (plotline, not relationship), so I'm looking forward to seeing how things develop in book two.

An e-copy was provided by GRR. This is my honest review.

Lust by Sienna Moreau is exactly why I suck at starting a new series. This book is soooooo good and I'm gagging now for the rest of the brothers and of course she hasn't written them yet 🥺

Lust is of course one of the seven deadly sins. He is the embodiment of desire and all that is s ex appeal. But, after living a gazillion years he has come to realize that he doesn't want to participate anymore. He needs it to fill his "magic reserves" but the actual act is leaving him wanting and very unfulfilled. So, he has galas and they are very exclusive so of course all the humans want the invite. Deacon is able to secure an invite.

Deacon is a human, a cop, and a younger brother to a man that has been missing for four years. His brother is his only family left and he is determined to find him. Deacon is given some inside information and an invite to the gala. He confronts Lust and things get all kinds of wonky from there. Lust is extremely drawn to Deacon, which is unheard of. Deacon cannot resist Lust even though his brain is telling him he should. His body knows what he wants, though. Their push and pull is downright 🔥🥵

This is a first for me for Sienna Moreau and I'm definitely hooked. The depth given to each character is perfect. In a first book of a series the groundwork can sometimes be too much. Lust is just right. You know a little bit about each brother, you get to know their demons, and there will be a war that is in the very beginning stages in this book. So, each book will have an hea but will also have a continuing arc line.

I love this author's The Four Horsemen series (highly recommend) so was really excited to check out her new series, Seven Deadly Sins.
Lust is the first book and yes!! I'm already hooked. It caught my attention since the beginning, the suspenseful mystery of Deacon's arrival to The Sins' house. And kept it until the last page. So many secrets to uncover (and many more left to uncover due to an overarching storyline), the twists and turns kept me glued to the book, biting my nails, not knowing what or whom's secret will be discovered. Cause Deacon wasn't the only one with secrets, Lust had many, including the one Deacon desperately wanted to uncover. They both knew each was withholding/hiding information but they could not fight the chemistry that sizzled between them. They were two strong magnets forced to together against their better judgement. And boy did they steam up my kindle!! Their relationship was full of desire, passion, possessiveness, heartbreak, betrayal, and true love.
The world building was phenomenal, the storyline very intriguing, and all of the characters fully developed. Deacon may not be a demigod but he was no pushover. He held his own against Lust, Lust's brothers, and Lust's overprotective demons. Each brother and demon had their own powers, personality, and quirks. And some of their interactions were hilarious, just a bunch of sibling ribbing, showing the love they had for each other. I cannot wait to get my hands on Gluttony (already pre-ordered).

Lust is the first book in the new Seven Deadly Sins series. What a great way to start a new series. I was pulled in from the start. This is the story of Lust and Deacon. The connection and steam between these two is off the charts. I love the world building that went into this book and will continue in the series. The characters are amazing and both of them are hiding things. There is an overarching storyline so we will have more questions and answers as the series progresses. I can't wait for the next book in the series. I would definitely recommend this book.

Completely new author to me, so no experience of her other works. I went into this with an open mind.

I going to openly start with saying I was disappointed with this book. I know the title is ‘Lust’ so I did expect quite a bit of sex, but this was ridiculous. I mean pretty much every single interaction between Lust and Deacon involved sex. Have lunch = sex on the dining table. Go to the tailor = have sex on the sofa. I was just skimming these scenes as it just got boring. I wanted some plot, sigh.

Also, sex was used as a way to simply avoid any form of communication. Deacon wants info on his missing brother so agrees to do shady shit in order to get said info. Lust has said info, knows Deacon is basically a spy, yet does fuck all about it. I’ll admit I find miscommunication books irritating but this felt like lazy writing. Like an attempt to build up the tension as both parties are hiding stuff, but instead I’m just like you’ve had so many opportunities to talk to each other, why can you not be bothered?! It was just eye rolling at this point.

Deacon is meant to be this morally superior person who just wants to find his brother, yet he’s happily humping Lust at every opportunity and barely asks him for info on his brother. Lust’s mojo doesn’t work on him, so it’s his own desires causing this. I was like, really?! What is wrong with you. It was a literal Body Betrayal Syndrome situation- oh he’s so hot and sexy but so mean, yet I just can’t help myself….

I found myself not caring by 50% in, like yes I wanted to know what happened to the brother, for my own curiosity. However, as to our MCs, frankly, they were boring - Lust is one dimensional with no depth. Plus nothing worse than a character who is meant to have a backbone but just becomes a mindless sex fiend.

Then we get a scene that utterly disgusted me. Finally Lust tells Deacon what happened to his brother, but does it whilst he’s fucking him. All as payback for Deacon hiding his spying from him. And Deacon forgave him, no grovel from Lust, we had a paragraph of him apologising and Deacon is like ‘oh I should be apologising to you’. Just nope. It was like WTF am I reading? It just reinforced that Deacon had the spine of a jellyfish….

I’m not going to continue reading this series.

I got this as an ARC from gayromancereviews.com and I think you can tell from the above that my views are 100% my own.

Lust is the first book in Sienna Moreau’s Seven Deadly Sins series, and it instantly grabbed my attention. As someone who loves stories based around the demonology, I was eager to dive into the story. Unfortunately, it was one where my feelings changed as the story progressed.

The story started strong, instantly pulling me in. I was eager to see how things would play out between the characters, how things would develop, and was exciting to see how things would change. Sadly, for me, the change happened far too quickly – and it did not happen in a believable way. In fact, it felt like the characters quickly changed from the way they were introduced at the onset. I was able to overlook this as the overall story was interesting, but little things continued to not work for me to the degree I had hoped. While there is a lot of potential for the world, I felt like the way some aspects were introduced was not done properly. There were too many references made that were not explained until much later, which made it difficult to understand some aspects (in some cases, full explanations were never given, which made it feel like I was missing something even though I knew I had not missed anything while reading). Which was disappointing considering how easily I worked out the twist. It felt like the two aspects were the wrong way around – the world should have had the level of clarity that the twist had. Add in that everything happened extremely quickly toward the end, and my feelings were very mixed. In fact, it started with me thinking this could be a four-star rating and ended with a part of me considering a two-star rating. In the end, I opted for a three-star rating because it did leave me curious about the bigger picture.

I will read book two due to my curiosity, but my fingers are crossed that the things that did not work fully for me in this book are improved upon in the next. While a part of me wants to go in with a high level of excitement, it is more the fact that I am a sucker for my own curiosity. My fingers are crossed that I am surprised – and the second book works better for me now that the groundwork has been done.

A dystopian future meets a daring interpretation of the myth for the 7 Sins in a dangerously twisted, dark fictional world with a solid splash of fantasy elements thrown into the story for an extra adrenaline rush. The Sins are presented as demigods ruling over the remnants of a nearly destroyed Earth, and what's left of the human population obediently follows the new rules in a new, rather hostile reality. There is no middle ground - you adapt or you die. And when you make plans, you better be sure they're impenetrable and damn good, and the people you're sacrificing for are worth the risk. Deacon didn't seem to get that memo. I give him extra points for being a stubborn and brave little human who didn't give up the search for his brother, following every possible lead for 4 long years. But I also take away a few points for the obviously missed lesson of checking all the facts before acting so recklessly. When Deacon and Lust met, it was an impressive collision, a heart-stopping moment in time, a barely glimmering spark of recognition, because somewhere, somehow, within the thousands of incarnations, it wasn't their first meeting. But it was definitely the timing that mattered. Lust's momentary obsession with Deacon - just an average Joe, working as a homicide detective - was a real mystery to me. For a man who has seen the rise and fall of multiple civilizations, who has always had the immense power to change lives at his fingertips, his infatuation was hard to understand. And the other Sins were there to tell him how dangerous it was to trust in a great Unknown, especially when that supposedly human unknown was connected to devastating events of the near past. Despite the odds and some surprises, the story ends with a HEA for the couple and a general cliffhanger for the plot as a whole.
I definitely enjoyed the world building and the way every Sin had not only his own flavour of magic but wildly different personality and preferences which added a layer of unpredictability to the story.

“I don’t wish to kill you, my dear. I wish to own you.”
“I’m not a thing to own.”
“No? You don’t want to belong to me, Deacon?”
“No.”
“I can hear the waver in your voice.”

This author wrote one of my favorites series last year (The four horseman) so when I heard about this new series I couldn't wait to read it. I love the sass all the characters have and how they complement each other to create an amazing found family dynamic. Clearly, I already have my most anticipated ships. Some are pretty much confirmed in this book and others are some personal wishful thinking. Even though it has some characters with questionable morals, so far it is not as twisted as the previous series was. It might change in future installments but if you are not fond of extremely dark stories you should give it a try.

description

Here’s the thing, as much as I LOVE found family series I always have a problem with the couple from the first installment. I tend to care more about the other members of the family and their potential partners. And unfortunately, this wasn’t the exception. Don’t get me wrong, I like Lust and Deacon’s relationship but they didn't stand out to me as much as other characters did. I cared more about their interactions with others than the ones between them. Though, of course the smut was really good.

Found family, morally gray characters, demons and faes. The perfect formula for a series for me.

An absolutely phenomenal start to the series. I couldn’t put it down. The author gives us a stellar cast of fantastic layered characters. The world building is intricate yet effortless to get into, the plot keeps you on the edge of your seat with swirling danger and intrigue, spectacular spice and heat, all wrapped up in a beautifully paced story.

Lust, an all powerful demigod and Devon’s chemistry and connection is almost instant and intense. I was completely hooked from the first chapter with all these layers of intricate agendas on both sides which end up being sidelined because of the way they are just drawn to each other. As the romantic relationship develops, the intrigue and mystery surrounding them slowly plays out with some amazing plot twists and reveals and the past and present collide into a spectacular climax. While Lust and Deacon get their hard won hfn, the ending left me with even more questions on the developing overarching plot and some hints of what’s to come and I can’t wait for the next book.

Expect:
* Urban fantasy Romance
* Forced proximity
* Opposites attract
* Possessive MCs
* Morally grey characters
* Danger, intrigue and violence

Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫
Swoon: ♥️♥️♥️♥️
Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Angst: ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

So... this was good if you didn't pay much attention to it... OTT as all get out.

Was I a fan of Deacon and Lust's type of push and pull? NO! They fell into insta-lust, Deacon never searched his own feelings but was content to blame Lust for them and Lust was too much going with the flow about anything. Seriously why do any research whatsoever? Search the memory of times long past? Maybe try and figure out that tiny flashback he had about Deacon?

Was I a fan that the two of them couldn't communicate if the sun's rotation was depending on it? NO! Prime example the whole "husks" thing. Deacon pretty much misunderstood the whole thing and Lust instead of explaining concisely, as he did to us through his contemplation, he just halfas*ed the whole explanation never uttering a sentence that made sense.

Could they have an adult conversation? NOPE! Really for most of the story those two just kept having two different conversations that never intersected in any way.

I'm an absolute fan of Pride, Envy and Nero! I'm iffy about Lazarus and even more so about Raven. I'm not sure where I stand with Wrath, Greed and Gluttony and Sloth is a complete Q.

Oooh! And before I forget... too much s*x, like way too much!

Will I continue with the series? HECK YEAH!!! Am I expecting more and better? Yes, so here's to hoping!

I haven't even finished the book, i'm salivating! When other authors write 7 sins books, Lust is usually my least fav but Sienna has flipped the script as usual! This author is my dream! Her character writing and world building is so fun and good. Then i find out she also writes under a different pen name - Aurora Crane - and i'm off to the races, screaming for dear life! I can't wait to read the rest of her story here, and then we get 6 more books i'm hoping (i'm happy to beg and offer cookie bribes)!

----Best part - She write in 3RD PERSON POV! (so refreshing!)----

Deacon and Lust are so good and hot together (wow fanning myself) It's like they complete each other with every atom and i'm alway laughing how deacon will be like "Lust, i don't like you, but also take off your shirt rn" every time he looks at lust for more than 5 seconds lol. And Lust took one look at Deacon and pulled a full "I'm a whore for my wife" heart eyes instantly.

It's an enemies-to-lovers but one sided but also they are bad at being enemies haha i love it!

The other sins are so fun as well, every intro, you just wanna read their stories immediately.
Poor envy....
(Also, she got me so curious about the odd relationship between Envy, Lazarus and Raven.... is it meant to tease a MMM story? I'm not really into those but i'll still read the rest the MINUTE they come out)

Thank you Ms Sienna for making my whole week!

I absolutely loved the ride this took me on. Lust and Deacon are immediately drawn to each other and yet both have cards that they are keeping close to their chest. These guys are fire from the start and this is an extremely high heat read. I was really taken away by the world building and the unique take on the Deadly Sins. Each of the Sins has their own unique personalities and I can't wait to get into the heads of some of these guys *coughEnvycough*. While Lust and Deacon do reach their happy ending, there is a bit of a cliffhanger with the overall plot. I don't want to give much away because I think this may be one of those reads where it's better to go in a bit blind.

Deacon is a detective and doesn't think he's anything special. Lust is the face of the Sins and is actually a super softie while still being a total ruthless demigod. It's fireworks and backstabbing and a whole lot of fun! I can't wait to see what's in store next!!

This book is simply excellent. I love Sienna’s writing and ability to create very very complex worlds with impecable world-building and story-telling. You can tell by reading this book (the first of at least 7, I’d assume) that at least half of not the whole story is already planned out. The way in which new mysteries are uncovered and more and more questions are revealed in each chapter is astounding.

The characters complexities, gray morality and arch’s are more than interesting as well. Overall this is a very complex fantasy history that will cover many books, wrapped in greatly written love stories. The romance is on point, this one is very steamy (s*x scenes every other encounter) but that does not take away from the story and how the mc’s relationship develops. It’s not the same over and over again, every line of dialogue has a reason.

Can’t wait to read the next book.

Lust by Sienna Moreau is book 1 in the Seven Deadly Sins series. I was very intrigued by the world that Sienna created here that is ruled over by the Seven Deadly Sins. Deacon is looking for his missing brother Conor who he knows was last seen with the Seven Deadly Sins. After procuring an invitation to one of their famous parties, Deacon gets in to see Lust. There is a strange connection between the two of them that neither one understands. I appreciated the unique take on Lust (who doesn’t enjoy sex as it leads to bad feelings afterwards). I’m not sure I completely understand how their names connect to their powers (apart from Lust), but there was a lot of worldbuilding. I did enjoy Deacon and Lust together once Lust got over himself- lol. I am really looking forward to book 2.

This was a fun read. The beginning of the book does an excellent job setting a mysterious tone when Deacon enters Lust’s castle. It feels both dangerous and exciting and got my attention right away. The characters were the highlight for me. I especially loved meeting each of Lust’s brothers and getting a peak at their personalities and backstory. The plot is really entertaining and there’s a good sense of suspense around Deacon. Deacon clearly has a reason for tracking down Lust and he seems oddly immune to Lust’s power. I loved the chemistry between these two and their relationship has quite a good evolution. The world building is excellent and I look forward to more stories set in this world.

I really like this new book. I adore Deacon, he’s smart, stubborn and he can stand for himself. Lust is completely different from what I expected but the interpretation of Lust is original and well-written. The pacing is great, with a lot of action, mysterious secrets, spicy moments and well… more spicy moments (of course)! I love the concept of personifying the seven deadly sins. Sienna Moreau is definitely a master at bringing well-known concepts and beliefs to life with her imagination. This first book made me very curious to read all the Sins’s books, just to see her rendering of them. The world-building is already so good, and the power system itself is intriguing. I can’t wait to read Lust’s brothers stories and learn more about this world.

After the Four Horsemen books, I had very high expectations for this series, and the author delivered.
While there is unfinished world building which will likely be handled later, the Seven Sins are unique and are definitely not “misunderstood.” They embrace their power and their superiority.
Lust is the ultimate manipulator, using people’s emotions to power his magic and inspire obedience. Deacon, on the other hand, is snarky, desperate to find his brother, and seemingly immune to Lust. Makes for some intense scenes!
Intriguing story that ends in a hard won HFN, as there is an overarching story to the series. Can’t wait to read the next one and discover more about what’s happening!

enjoyed this book. There is another series before this one that everybody said you should read you don't have to but you should read it first so I'm going to go back and read that one and then I might even read this one again. I enjoyed this book and I loved the characters in this book but I'm also feeling like I'm missing something I don't know if that makes sense or not. So I'm super excited I'm going to go start the other series and then I'm going to come back and do this one but even without reading the other series I still enjoyed this book I loved the characters I love their connection I love this sass in this book.

There was truly something intriguing about Lust, one of the deadly sins, who is used to messing with others' emotions, being drawn to Deacon, a human in need of an assist. Deacon is searching for his brother which leads him to this powerful being. There was a lot going on in this story. Lots of secrets, some really good world building and a happy for now that was good enough for me because I plan to keep reading this series to see where things go. I liked this couple, they were good together, even with the pitfalls of dark romance being a part of their story. Good start to this series.

This dark urban fantasy MM romance had me questioning my 'no-go' on dark romance (at least when it's fantasy, right? 😂). Lust and Deacon, man, their chemistry is next level! 🔥🔥 Had me waving the #TeamLust flag but also kinda feeling #TeamDeacon even when he was being a pain. Love how Sienna doesn't bombard us with world-building info dumps. Deacon's search for his bro Conor leads him to Lust and boy, does he find more than he bargained for!

Can't wait to see where the series goes. Give it a read! It's worth it!

Thank you to Sienna Moreau for the ARC copy.

Deacon is on a quest for answers. Determined and single minded, he refuses to give up and failure is not an option.
His quest leads him to Lust, the god of desire, and one of the brothers of the seven deadly sins.

I love the dynamics and banter between the brothers. And Deacon himself isn’t shy about joining in. The passion and desire between Deacon and Lust is just … chef kiss

This book is hot and heavy from the get go, but then I expect no less from the fabulous Sienna Moreau!

I can’t wait to read the subsequent stories in this series of seven. I hope we will see more of Deacon and Lust

What a wild ride! Deacon's search for his brother led him straight into one of Lust Sin’s infamous parties, and from there, the story took off with nonstop action and mystery. The Sun family have snarky banter and dynamic personalities.  I loved every second of it! This is an HFN story, and I’m already counting down the days until I can dive into Glutton's story. If Book 2 is anything like this one, I know I’m in for another fantastic read!

Gluttony preorder here I come!!! Ok, if you’re new to Sienna Moreaus books I would actually recommend starting at their Four Horsemen series to avoid the book withdraws I’m currently suffering from 😅 If it’s not abundantly clear already, I really enjoyed Lust & Deacons story in addition to meeting the Sins. I’m so excited to dive into the rest of the series & I hope we see the addition of sassy furry companions like the mares & Paul in the future books.
