This book is a collection of five short stories that are interconnected to a homestay in Lansdowne, a beautiful small village in India. Each story has a deeper message conveyed through witty banter, emotional scenes, and anecdotes. It's great that the book explores diverse perspectives and experiences, allowing characters to find solace and healing within its pages. The first story, which is about coping with loss and second chances, is told from Paki's perspective and sounds like a great start to the book.

It's great when a book can keep readers on their toes and offer unexpected twists.
one of the stories in the book has a supernatural element that I didn't anticipate.

While I eagerly anticipated the unfolding of Bhaskar and Bella's love story, it didn't captivate me as much as I had hoped. In my opinion, the ending could have been crafted with greater impact and satisfaction.

Some of my favourite stories out of them are:-
💘Can love and Grief be friends?
💘is it ever too late to start over?
💘Why do some places feel like home?

Despite its brevity, this book possesses a profound ability to leave a lasting impression.

Overall, it seems like a great choice for anyone who wants to read something that's both entertaining and meaningful.

Love in Lansdowne by Swagata Dam features a diverse cast of characters.
Once they arrive at a cosy vacation home amid the hills, each visitor finds a new version of oneself in the picturesque Indian mountain hamlet of Lansdowne after experiencing a sequence of transformative epiphanies. They each find something to take home after arriving at the villa at key points in their individual journeys. These five touching tales have delicious food, amusing conversation, unending sobs, a tonne of laughter, and love. I love how the author has sketched the beautiful characters. Strong Meher, vintage Roma, Surekha and Gurpreet, Supportive Ramya, Sid, Vivan and ofcourse Vir and Pakhi, all are characterised so skillfully that readers relate to them. This book has a warm vibe that can lift your low mood instantly. Dam uses simple language but she surely knows how to touch strings of emotions. I just read few pages a day to fully cherish each and every bit of this book. I highly recommend this book.

Love in Lansdowne made my heart happy and left me with an intense urge of visiting a hill station. 🥹🤌🏻

This short collection of heart warming feel good interrelated short stories on love is all you need to cuddle with this rainy season.

Each story celebrates a different kind of love like marriage, friendship, platonic, love in old age, love with nature and life and leaves the reader in awe.

While the stories and the simple narrative made me happy what made me happier was finding names of Murakami, Ruskin Bond and Kishore Kumar in the book. It made me like the book a lot more and gave the vibe of a cozy library in the attic where old songs play in the background.

Love in Lansdowne does not have life altering themes or deep quotes and that’s not even important because sometimes or rather most times pleasure is found in the simplest of things.

The stories are contemporary but the love is old school. A perfect book that can be devoured in a single sitting.
