ANGELIC FACT NUMBER 100: Having wings doesn’t make one noble; it simply makes one fly.

Naya and Adam have nothing in common. Besides black wings. The same birthday. And fathers who are as close as brothers.

But nothing else.

Sweet, diligent Naya has always abided by the rules. Arrogant, uncivil Adam has made it his life’s mission to break each one.

She is the beloved daughter of an archangel. He is the guilds’ resident bad boy . . . well, bad fletching.

When Naya thrusts herself in Adam’s life to request a place on his clandestine team of guardians, he turns her away. The last thing his unsanctioned squad needs is an archangel’s attention, and the last thing he needs is a bubbly, blonde distraction with a sinful voice and soulful eyes.

Problem is, Naya suddenly, and inexplicably, becomes the only thing he wants.

Fans of steamy supernatural romance will want to scroll up and one-click to start reading the enemies-to-lovers trilogy finale today.

reincarnated soulmates finding each other again is a trope that immediately needs to get more attention because i seriously cant get enough. <3

i wasnt the biggest fan of the second book in this series, but i will admit it set this final installment up perfectly and got me back to the characters i loved in the first book. this conclusion is everything i wanted for them. i do wish there was a little more romance, because the plot is definitely the priority in this one, but its still very satisfying.

so if you enjoy books about fallen angels with souls and guardian angels who go on missions, then this series is something you need to pick up!

Disclaimer >> Starlight takes places 18 years after Feather. I’ve taken the historical liberty to transform a presidential republic into a kingdom for story purposes. Please remember that this remains a work of fiction, and although not dystopian, it is paranormal.

RTC… i need to think about this one

————————
Ok but I need someone to tell me that this book has a scene where Naya is horrified to discover that in her past life, her dad was technically interested in her💀

—————————-
I’ve never been jealous of anyone in my entire life. I think jealousy is one of the worst possible traits you could ever have. That said, as I see people receiving ARCs of this book I’m feeling…. something. I’m definitely feeling something 😜
—————————-

I just read a teaser on the author’s instagram page and in it, Adam calls Naya “feather”. MRS WILDENSTEINN?!?!?! YOU CANNOT JUST LEAVE IT AT THAT I—
—————————-

Ummm first of all, I’m literally so excited about this?!? I mean this is gonna be a second chance romance but with a premise that I’ve never read before and I.cannot.wait.

5 Feather stars

28/12/2021

If you have not yet read this series do yourselves a favour and go and read book 1! It is currently FREE on Amazon! https://smile.amazon.co.uk/Feather-An... And then binge read it all, as this one is NOW LIVE!! Also this book contains spoilers from book 1 and 2.

description

I have been dying to read this since I finished book 1, Feather! While reading this, I'm not ashamed to admit, I was so scared! I wanted this to work out so badly and every twist had my heart pounding and shouting at the book. I highlighted so much and I rooted for them so hard that I cried. Every interaction, every move, every thought had me nearly squealing with glee and dread. The feelings were so intermingled, I didn't know if I was happy or apprehensive. And my instincts did not fail me.

description

Naya's and Adam's parents are the best of friends and yet their children have never met each other until now. For eighteen years they constantly hear about each other. They have the same birthday and their wings are black. They both think they were born from extra-conjugal affairs. That's where any common ground they have ends. Naya is sweet and listens to her parents and follows the rules. Adam is the troublemaker, the bad boy angel, fletching really here as he has not earned his permanent wings yet.

description

And like all good troublemakers, he has to break the rules. He and his friends form a team of guardians, Shorhim to help humans instead of reforming them after they sin. Naya finds out and decides to insert herself and get a spot on the team. She agrees that angels and fletchings should be helping humans more. Adam is downright hostile to her but soon other feelings start make themselves felt and strongly.

Going from reforming sinners to socialising with Triples (extremely dangerous sinners) in order to find out their nefarious plans, the team constantly put themselves in danger and none more so than Naya. Just because they are practically immortal doesn't mean they can't get hurt. Their plans to rescue innocents and prove the need for Guardians/Shorhims are in jeopardy. Humans can always get worse than what they seem and no matter how well intentioned Naya and Adam are, they are still only eighteen. With strong emotions riding both of them, they try again and again to help while trying to sort out what they mean to each other.

I could not recommend the series enough! It really worked for me. Olivia Wildenstein created the angel world with thought and a touch to details. Reading the story of these two really soothed the ache I had from the first book even if I read it while hiding behind my fingers at points. If you love the angel genre you should not miss out. And if you just love paranormal/supernatural reads this is an excellent addition to your shelves.

4 - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I'll probably come back to this review after its release and add more but for now I'll keep it short.

First of all, I want to thank Olivia Wildenstein for providing me with an eArc of Starlight and for creating this rich and imaginative world of angels and she does an amazing job with blending a fantastical setting into a modern one.

I want to quote one of my fellow reviewers who described Starlight as the soothing balm you rub over a scar. The scar is there as proof of what we, as the readers, had experienced, but we are rewarded with a fantastic ending to the trilogy.

It's action-packed and filled with emotional moments. Trust me when I say your heart strings will be pulled every now and then.

We follow Naya and Adam whom are all grown up now and this book serves grumpy/sunshine trope so expect a lot of that sweet pull-and-push between them.

This book was entertaining from start to finish because we join the characters on these dangerous missions and the heartpounding moments of when a secret or some small truth is about to reveal itself kept me at the edge of my seat.

One of my favorite elements about Olivia's world-building is the Angelic system. The characters have to abide by some rules lest they lose their feathers and never ascend to Elysium. I really like it when an author sets limits and consequences for the characters and that makes for a well-structured world that keeps everything balanced.

I'll be back soon to write more after the book is out and so I can share some quotes.

I always have a hard time saying good bye to characters and a world I grew fond of. It almost put me in slump.

i’d like to thank the author, olivia wildenstein, for providing me with an arc in exchange for an honest review! i loved starlight and it was the perfect conclusion to this series. 5 stars! 🌟

starlight follows naya and adam, two new characters with many similarities to old ones, as they try to help protect humans in danger and earn their remaining feathers. i really enjoyed learning more about them and seeing their relationship unfold. i also really enjoyed seeing celeste and asher again and learning more about them as parents!

naya was a very strong character, which is one of the things i love about this series, because there are so many strong female characters. i loved her just as much as leigh and celeste and i also loved the side characters in this one! the “visions” in this book almost brought me to tears each time and i couldn’t wait for the characters to realize who they truly were. i also loved when adam referred to naya as feather :)

i loved this story so much and it was everything i could have asked for and more. it served leigh and jarod justice and i loved seeing their love story progress over two lifetimes. i highly recommend this series, it’s one of my favorites and is truly unique. wildenstein has an amazing writing style that engages you the entire time and the characters are realistic and charming. i’m so thankful to have received an arc for this one and i know i’ll be picking up a physical book to complete my set when it comes out!

overall, READ THESE BOOKS! you won’t be disappointed

I don't think I've ever loved a series so much. I remember when I first read Feather, how attached I was, and how much I loved every moment of it...even the ending. And back when I was still a small BookToker, Celestial was coming out, and I messaged Olivia to see if I could get an ARC. She sent it to me, and I literally cried with joy. I was so ecstatic to see what she was going to do and where the story was going to go.

Fast forward to now when I have been lucky enough to receive Starlight as an ARC.

Let me start off by saying I've never looked forward to a release as much as I have for Starlight. I've put this entire series on a pedestal and I've ordered paperbacks of each, signed hardcovers of each, AND the paperbacks in other languages. I'm not kidding when I say I love this series.

And Starlight was the freaking cherry on top. I can't say a lot seeing as this is the third installment and I don't want to give anything away for the other two books but...Starlight was everything I wanted it to be and more. The love we see between Adam and Naya rivals that of all the classic love stories. It is pure enemies to lovers, steamy, paranormal perfection that I will never stop thinking about.

If you haven't started this series yet...what are you doing? I know you've heard me talk about it on my lives! Go get it. Go. Right now. Go get Feather and come message me when you've finished.

Finally finished this trilogy, and let me tell you, it felt super stretched out at times

The first book hit me the hardest emotionally, while the third one had a more action-packed plot, which I really liked

I’m a fan of angel stories, but honestly, I haven’t read that many

This trilogy has found a special place in my heart

If you’re into slow-burn, steamy reads with some edge about angels and how they save the damned, I totally recommend it!

Trilogy is 18+

I returned once again to the world of Elysium and angels. It was a very long wait for Adam and Naya’s story but I enjoyed finally getting to read it.

Adam and Naya are fletchings who are working towards earning their feathers in order to ascend to Elysium. Adam is the “bad” boy angel, trying to get the seraphim to bring back the order of guardian angels. He saves souls and earns feathers - a little at a time and mostly through flirting and seductions. Naya is the perfect angel - perfect at getting feathers (she’s almost at the required 1000), perfect to look at, perfect soul and her father is a perfect seraph. She definitely doesn’t belong in Adam’s world, his life, his thoughts and definitely not on his clandestine team of angels who are trying to prove that they can be guardian angels. Naya isn’t giving Adam a choice. The perfect angel wants to get her hands dirty because she believes she was meant to save humans. She’s good. He’s kinda good. Together, they spark.

After I read Celestial, I really wanted to see how the star-crossed soul-halves were going to have a happily-ever-after. Leigh and Jerod in Feather had such a sad ending and Asher and Celeste had such a great story that I was really hoping for some angel magic for Adam and Naya. Their story is pretty good. Lots of banter, heat and smoldering. 😉 There was an interesting background plot…or I should say plots. A lot happens in this book. I’m not sure both major side plots were necessary. I think Wildenstein could have focused on one subplot. I probably would have preferred the Chicago plot over the Venezuelan one. It was more realistic and layered. The Venezuelan plot was over the top and unbelievable. I didn’t love it. Although, Wildenstein can write good detailed scenes so it wasn’t terrible - just not my preference.

I loved the characters, especially Adam and Naya. While they were similar to Leigh and Jerod, they weren’t replicas. I love Celeste and Asher and Tobias and Gabriel. Noah and Galina were great new additions. The characters definitely made this a fun read. I’m so glad that I get the happy ending I was hoping for, even if it did surprise me in some ways. Interesting surprises!

I think I have to say that Celestial may have been my favorite but all three books were pretty closely ranked. They are fun, imaginative, interesting and romantic. Good way to spend a day at home while quarantined and waiting on a negative Covid test.

4/4.5⭐️ conclusion to my favorite PNR series this year.

It’s over. This series has fully captivated me from start to finish…and now it’s over. I needed this closure, but I also didn’t want it. My heart wants more (I especially want more of Adam and Naya), but it no longer needs it. I got the ending that I desired, yet I don’t know if I’ll ever be satisfied.

Adam and Naya…..two fated lovers who were going to find each other no matter what. No matter who tried to keep them apart. There were so many times reading when the words hit me so hard that I had to pause and gather myself…..Olivia is a masterful story teller. The way she tied in all the characters throughout the series into this last book was just perfection.

Final thoughts on the series:
Asher will forever be my favorite angel. I am still not over the ending of Feather. The way Olivia threw in that plot twist as the basis for the third book…..it’s like she repaired my shattered heart in a way that I could have never seen coming.

Thank you so much to Olivia for this ARC and for writing this beautiful series!!

Guys I cannot tell you how much it hurts me to give this book 2 stars, you know considering I gave the first two 5 stars each.
This book was way too long, I just couldn't, it was way boring with that mission, aahhh. It felt like instead of a trilogy it could be a duology, I don't know or if this book was shorter than maybe yeah. Except for that, it was nice to get a happy ending although, I came to appreciate sad endings in books. So far I only wanted happy endings since it is not a given in real life I wanted for my fictional friends to have a happy ending always but yeah I think I grow up to them.

This series has been a true delight!!! I adore that I discovered Olivia in 2021. I simply adore her writing and the fact that she created this beautiful world full of angels (which happen to be my favorite creatures) is simply amazing. I love how unique the universe is and this was the perfect conclusion!
Adam and Naya. I adored this slow burn. I have been craving to read their story since the end of Celestial.
If you want something well written, with lovable characters and amazing world building, then read this. I am in love with this world.

“I’m already yours. Always have been and forever will be. In every lifetime, Adam.”
“How about we stop at this one, Feather?”

this was such a heartwarming conclusion to the trilogy, the reincarnated soulhalves found each other again and had a second chance.
but, being honestly, this book was the weakest of the trilogy, for me, i just wish I could feel the love both had for each other in book one, it lacked a little here. anyway, it is still good tho and i loved seeing celeste and asher.

"Naya,"--I brushed my thumb over her cheekbone, the callused pad of my finger skidding across her dewy skin--"what can I do?"
I didn't expect an answer.
And yet, I got one. She opened her eyes and fixed me with that obsidian stare of hers that reached straight into my soul. "Don't leave me this time."

Starlight is the third and final book in the Angels of Elysium series and the happy ending here wraps up the entire trilogy fairly well. Especially that epilogue featuring Asher and Celeste (from book 2, Celestial). *heart eyes*

Since this series is all about being kind and doing good, the main storyline in Starlight is no exception. The protagonists, Adam and Naya, are both fletchings, a.k.a. young angels awaiting ascending to Elysium once they finish getting 1,000 feathers by reforming their designated sinners. I have to admit that their experiences during those missions show some of the darkest sides of humanity and I definitely do not wish whatever they encounter happen to anyone in this world.

To be honest, even though it's enjoyable for me to read this book, it's my least favorite instalment in the whole trilogy. I mean, the first book, Feather, totally shatters my heart into thousands of pieces because of that ending--100% Romeo and Juliet style--but the sequel, Celestial, pieces said broken heart back and makes it full once again...all thanks to the amazing Archangel Asher and his one and only neshahadza. I guess it's because there's nothing extraordinary about Adam and Naya, at least not as outstanding as that of the main characters like Jarod, Leigh, Asher, and Celeste; thus, for some reason, I find it hard to immerse myself in this book.

Despite the fact that I don't like this book as much as I hope, I'd still recommend this series to all of you! Angels of Elysium is still an incredible masterpiece by Olivia Wildenstein, and I'm sure you'll have an unforgettable journey with these beloved angels. Besides, do you know that there are special COVER ARTS for pretty much all of Olivia's hardcovers? You can snag a signed (and if you're lucky, a personalized) copy in her Etsy Shop!! Don't forget to treat yourself to some exclusive swags as well. Trust me, Olivia's bookish goodies are THE BEST!!

“To me, nothing is more important than a person’s soul. Everything else fades, only the soul remains”

STARLIGHT by Olivia Wildenstein

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This book was the perfect ending to an already perfect series. This world and characters that Olivia has created has literally embedded itself onto my heart.

Even though Adam and Naya were two completely new characters, I loved the small similarities shared with Jared and Leigh from Feather. Every reference to “visions” brought me to tears. Naya and Adam’s dynamic was so beautiful, with her pure kindness reflecting Leigh and Adam’s hothead and potential to be bad, Jared.

The side characters were absolutely mint, I’m a sucker for close friendships in stories.

I wish there were more ways I could say how much I loved this book!

These books break you and then put you back together in the best way imaginable. Read them!

Olivia Wildenstein somehow made it feel like this was a reincarnated Leigh and Jarod (tries to not sob about book 1) without making it feel like the same two characters. I applaud how well she made them feel like fresh characters, and yet still familiar.

I loved this series and was so excited to get an ARC of Starlight! Olivia is a genius with her plot lines, and she’s made me fall in love with Leigh and Jarod.

Adam and Naya also stole my heart here. Seeing the little hints of their past lives was so special and I screamed each time. And seeing Daddy Asher and Mama Celeste!! *heart eyes*

The only thing I wanted more of was seeing Naya and Adam really soak in what happened to their past lives and that they were soul-halves. I want to see everything with these two so I was sad we got to miss that part!

Thank you Olivia for my ARC in exchange for my honest review <3

A brilliant final to Olivia’s angel series, loved meeting all the characters again as well as getting Adam & Naya’s happy ending. Naya was an enjoyable strong female lead to read similar to Leigh. I also loved that Adam still embodied a lot of Jarod’s traits. The book is a slow burn romance with a lot of action and a great twist at the end.

Olivia!!!!!!! How could you do this to me??? I'm an emotional disaster, and for once it's because of a happy ending not a gut punch? I don't know what to do with myself anymore.

I was originally going to try and sum up Starlight in a few words, and then I realized it is impossible. It's so agnsty, so antagonistic, so hilarious, so adorable, such a hopeless romantic's dream come true. Basically, Adam and Naya are 18, living their best lives, trying to finish their wings, you know the vibe. These two knucleheads, however, decide to go full true crime mode and try to take down a whole-ass Venezuelan crime ring. Well, actually, Adam and his street gang of vigilante angels are going to take down the ring. Naya forced her way onto the case like the badass she is, no matter how many times Adam tried to kick her out. Yet, as much as these two lock horns, there's also an undeniable pull, an attraction that had me squealing like a child all throughout my read.

Let's get this out of the way. Starlight? A new permanent member on my favorites shelf. Which is totally ironic since this was the book I was the most wary of.

** Spoilers if you haven't read Feather yet (although I assume you have) **
When I found out that Jared and Leigh were essentially going to get a reincarnated love story, it scared me a little bit. I didn't know if Olivia was just going to turn Adam and Naya into copy and paste Leigh and Jared, or if I would even be able to see Naya and Adam as new characters. There were a lot of question marks going into this read for me, but I think Olivia freaking nailed it.

Naya and Adam are undeniably their own people, even as traces of Jared and Leigh come through. Naya is stubborn, focused, delightfully quippy and knows how to take care of herself. She has a lot more grit than Leigh, and I think more maturity as well. Yet, the two share the same love of sweets. They both had perfect feather-keeping records. They both loved flashy shoe-wear. It's like the little quirks that defined Leigh have clung to Naya, but the rest of her is someone completely new. The same can be said for Adam.

Adam might just be one of the grumpiest, most temperamental control freaks I have ever met. Yet, he's not an asshole. Well, most of the time. He still has Jared's thirst for justice, and where I think Jared's bite was worse than his bark, Adam is the reverse. My poor sweet Adam also got Jared's goodness complex when he found out he was a tripple, but where Jared cleaned up his act, Adam was already good and decent. He just had to realize that he was.

IN regards to the romance, OH. MY. GOD. This was by far the slowest burn, the hottest burn, the most antagonistic enemies to lovers in the series. Where in the prior books the couples have tiny encounters before going all in at the midpoint, these idiots DRAG their feet, have a spicy encounter, then a misunderstanding that has everything falling apart once me. It was so suspenseful, so gripping, so infuriatingly amazing because we all know they are meant to be together but Adam won't get his head out of his ass and Naya won't start talking. Ugh it's glorious. The only thing more scream worthy was how little memories from Jared or Leigh would flash in, like Naya remembering Jared's smell or Adam remembering Jared's nickname for Leigh. I especially appreciated the little details from Jared and Leigh's romance arc finding their way into Adam and Naya's (I see you, Olivia).

As for the plot, wow. Olivia obviously loves true crime, and I had a true crime phase when I was a teenager, so I can confirm this is incredibly well-done and thought out. We have an angel crime story. Amazing. And the action and suspense was done so well, too! Ugh, I'm just dying. And we haven't even reached Noah yet!

Noah is my new book boyfriend. Just in case you were wondering. Adam's bestie, Noah is a straight man that can rock his metallic pink feathers. He is an excellent cook, a loyal friend, and knows exactly how to antagonize Adam and reel him back in at the same time. He's adorable and hilarious and how do I get me a Noah? Can I order him on Olivia's web site? Lol.

Overall, if it wasn't obvious enough, I loved literally everything about Starlight. The romance is impeccable, the reincarnated lovers storyline is perfection, the crime was handled magnificently, and I need to go scream about this book to someone in real life now.
