This story has lost its grip on me, I was not a fan of the "final boss" character and I found the story line blah. This story's appeal has slowly declined for me. The first couple of volumes were great, I loved the charm and humor of the story and the story line involving Anos's parents and all of Anos's friends at Demon King academy made the Misfit of Demon King Academy one of my favorite light novels. However, once the story line moved away from the students and focused mostly on spirits and gods I lost interest. So I highly recommend the first two volumes and perhaps the third, but honestly volume 4 parts 1 and 2 are not worth it in my opinion. Some story elements get wrapped up nicely, but it is hard sledding to get there.
