I received an advance copy from the author in exchange for a review, and I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Gabby has a gift for capturing the nostalgia and bittersweet emotions of looking back on past relationships (both romantic and platonic) during your formative teenage and young adult years in a beautiful and relatable way. I often found myself resonating with her words on many occasions. Gabby's poems remind us that it is okay to look back and feel what we have felt and that it is important to acknowledge and allow ourselves to experience our emotions fully to move on and heal. I highly recommend Emerald Pools to anyone who has ever experienced the joys and heartbreaks of love!
I gladly received an advance copy from the author in exchange for a review, I throughly enjoyed the read. We share a love for a masochistic view of the reflection of our emotions, looking back at your first love and finding beauty in the damage. Emerald Pools evokes the nostalgia of looking back at your formative teenage and young adult years. I resonated with many of the poems, it spoke to the troubles I have navigated in figuring out the despondency of life. I would compare the authors pages to Olivia Rodrigos Sour album. A must read for poetry enthusiasts and young adults alike.
I’m a sucker for poem books as it is and this one continued to solidify my love for them. The poems, emotions, and stories in this pulled on all my heart strings. I found myself getting lost while reading, and also empathizing & relating. Truly a beautiful book that will continue to encapsulate you!
While I did receive an advanced copy of this book from the author in an exchange for a review, the above is my complete and honest opinion.
