For as long as Maia can remember, she has been tormented by the same person. It started off small, pinching, poking, pushing, hitting and more of the sort, but then it got worse. He pushed her down a flight of stairs, slammed her head into the floor, punched her, locked her in a closet, and much more that she tries not to think about. Of course she tried to tell people when it first started happening, but for some reason they didn’t believe her. Why would a little boy push her down the stairs? She was just a clumsy child. So she stopped trying to tattle, because he punished her when she did.
When it’s almost too late, she finds people who actually believe her. Should she tell them about all the horrors that have happened to her in the last fourteen years? Can she? Should she just stick it out a little longer? Can she?
