Raising twins deep in a protected wood sounds like an ideal task, but when the kids are dangerously magical and just learning how to control their abilities, life can get dicey. Michael Talbot prepares for a difficult trial as his wife Azile, the powerful Red Witch, is called away on urgent matters and he is left alone in charge of his challenging offspring. Fortunately, Uncle Mathieu, werewolf and Brew Master, arrives to help out.
It should have been a swell reunion for them, but conspiracy and war are upon them overnight and they become embroiled in diabolical machinations that no spell of protection can hide them from. Lycan, craven flesh-rending beasts and sworn enemies of Man, are once again preparing to enslave the remnants of Humanity, and dark, otherworldly sources are backing their claim to rule the land.
Entities created to extinguish Existence have been loosed from the netherworld, and the multiverse is balanced on a knife's edge. Suddenly, no one is safe, and the Talbot children become targets of inestimable worth. Will Azile's power and Mike's supernatural attributes be sufficient to protect them?
This is the opening if the Talbots manage to hold back the tide of evil, will Heaven and Hell crash upon them and wipe the slate clean?
Thinking this series was ending was crushing so this book was such a welcome reprieve! It details the adventures of Mike, his twins, Mathieux and Squirrel (the skunk) as they go to investigate a weird magical feeling. Finding an entire village murdered with only one survivor who seemed compelled / possessed to go in a certain direction for no known reason other than being altogether unsettling.
Lycans are also in the mix being awful and some dementor like entities are deleting people from existence. Everyone is not a fan of humans and this reads almost like a weird cosy mystery, albeit with gratuitous violence and Tim the absolutely terrifying clown who is on his redemption arc.
I look forward to more books in this series because MJ and Ali (the twins) are a hilarious mix of Mike and Azile, both in skill, potential and power which bodes good or bad.

4.5 I absolutely LOVE the way Mark writes. The characters and world building are absolutely incredible, and I enjoyed every minute of this story. Tim is just LAUGH OUT LOUD RIDICULOUS 😂 Already cannot wait for the next one!
The lycan fallout series is absolutely amazing. Mark always delivers a great story time and time again . Definitely recommend reading this series as well as the zombie fallout series
Another great story by Mr Tufo. Leaving that cliffhanger was just too cruel. Eagerly awaiting next installment and can almost taste the offshoot collection of stories surrounding the children coming....
This story has a lot of scary happenings, fierce battles, and hilarity. This is definitely one of the best in the series. I can't wait for the next one and with that ending there just has to be a next one
This went nowhere fast and I can’t believe that I am saying this but, I think I am about tired of this character. From zombies to aliens to vampires and Lycan I think I’m just ready for Mike Talbot to be put to rest…
The Mike Talbot saga continues. Fast paced, exciting, well developed characters. Evidently Mike is not as human as he thought he was. A must read for Tufo fans.
Waited so long for this story to continue, the wait was worth every minute!! The weirder Tim gets the more I love him! I can't wait to see where this continues!!
