Days later, he is all I can think about, and I start to see him everywhere. When he shows up at my clinic with a huge donation, I think it’s a fluke. When he appears outside my apartment, I know I should be afraid. But the famous Mason Langston doesn’t scare me. He’s not the monster who haunts my dreams. First Impressions Sing for Me is the second book in this duology that we have here and I have to say that this one was way harder and more challenging to read than "Breathe For Me" ever was. There is so much emotional turmoil and drama that happens int his one that it gets really difficult to read at times. I really stuck with it because I was so hooked into the story and didn't care what this author would put me through but boy it was intense, but I had to see it through for the reunion between the brothers and I just knew once our couple worked through their issues, that their romance would sing and it definitely was worth it but know that this is a emotionally challenging in how the author writes it and will probably put you through a mental war before you get to the HEA.
First Line "Where's your fiancee tonight, Langston?"
The Main Protagonists The Hero: Mason Is a professional bull rider, full of demons and hate, has a temper at times but is protective of women.
The Heroine: Harmony Harmony is on the run from an abusive ex, she is still tormented by her past and being betrayed by her family who should have protected her. She still suffers elements of PTSD from past abuse.
Summary Mason was abused throughout his childhood by his father and felt abandoned by his brother and was determined to find his own path in life and what called to him and gave him peace was those 8 seconds that he found upon riding the bull. He is now one of the best professionals of bull riding and then he finds the one woman he never thought he would find. Harmony never had a loving family. Her father sold her to her husband and she was abused for years until she found the courage to run and find her own life. She has two best friends she considers family. She still battles the affects of the abuse that she suffered and is slowly working through it. When Mason, infamous bull rider, saves her from an abusive security guard, an instant connection forms between them. But the past is bound to come to the surface and connect Mason and Harmony in ways that neither of them expected...
What I Loved Sing For Me was such a powerful read! There is so much to unpack here but to be frank this one put me through such a roller coaster but what makes it all worth it are these characters and wanting them to find their HEA that both of them deserve. Each of them have suffered in their own way and they have to work through their abuse while also not letting themself lose each other to the torments of the past. The connection that is between Mason and Harmony was so captivating. I just wanted to cheer these on through their successes and in the small intimate moments that they share in building each other up. They have so many demons, but together, they are able to find the capability and drive to continue to fight their demons and carve their own path together.
The plot of the story was the most fascinating to me and in seeing how the villain of this duet that wants to destroy the ranch is actually connected closely with Harmony. It really builds slowly thoughout the story and really captures you attention so quickly. And you see the moments where Mason has to return home and the almost painful reunion where the truth between the brothers comes fully revealed and what reveals these two learn about each other. I really loved Harmony's influence on Mason though especially in the later half of the story. This is where we see how true their connection is to each other and how she is able to help Mason keep centered in certain ways while in other ways each of them need to fight their own battles. I loved the balance of character growth and relationship building that we see implemented throughout this whole story.
What I Struggled With I really struggled with some of the more emotional and mental struggles that our main characters have. It gets too stretched out at times. And this might be too much for some readers. I was completely invested in this book though and wanted to see it through to the end, but if I hadn't been in the right mood for emotional turmoil, I might have DNF'd this one. So my best advice, make sure you know what you are getting into with this one and be willing to take it on. It won't be for everyone especially. But I did feel like the emotional battles these two work through are the most realistic. Its not easy to read, but its probably the most relatable especially if you have suffered any type of mental illness like anxiety or depression or abuse. Recovery and healing take time and it doesn't happen overnight.
Overall View Sing For Me is a captivating and heart wrenching romance that will bring your deepest emotions to the surface, its a romance you won't want to let go of and will delivers all the feels to see it through to the end...
Favorite Quote(s) He was the first ray of sunlight that peaked through the clouds after a storm. He was a beautiful chord in a song that sent goosebumps across my skin. He was every note in the music I’d been writing for the last two months.
Newsflash: this cowboy wasn’t going away. Even if he was fighting for his life, he wasn’t going away.

Steam/Spice Explanations
Steamin' up the room -the sexual content is more explicit in the language and tone, heavier amount of sexual scenes.
Brittany Ann has done it again 👏 The Langston Brothers are back and this time we get to meet Mason 🤠
He’s a badass, sexy, bull rider and man oh man does he love Harmony.
After a chance encounter at one of this competitions, Mason and Harmony can’t get each other off their minds. Quite practically obsessed with her, Mason does everything he can to make Harmony is.
While Harmony is battling her own inner demons, Mason’s got quite a few of his own. As the two get to know each other more and more, their pasts come to light and a mutual acquaintances are discovered (unfortunately).
Sing for Me is a dark cowboy romance that’s got the romance and suspense! It hooks you from the first page and engages you all the way to the end.
I loved that we got to see Denver and Valerie again 🫶 I loved them so much in Breathe for Me. ALSO, the long awaited Denver and Mason reunion? So worth the wait 🙌
Sing for Me really had it all and more - spice, suspense, Easter eggs, paid, found family, and love.
Thank you Brittany Ann for an eARC in exchange for my honest review 🤠

✨️ Dark Cowboy Romance (Book 2) ✨️ Mental Health Rep ✨️ Found Family ✨️ Touch her and die ✨️ Multiple POVs ✨️ Spice 🌶🌶🌶
This book doesn't start off where book one ended. Instead, it's back in time to give the story of Mase and Harm. I was a little thrown since I read the books straight through, but once over the time change, it was a great read!
I wish the ending was longer or even another book. I might be greedy saying that because I want more of the characters and would love to see more of the brothers working together and coming together to take down the common enemy - which I know would probably no longer be romance genre and possibly take a different direction then the author planned... I think this should have been the first book with the mysterious "him" and we find out "him" with Den and Val to add to the mystery and a third book with all of them coming together. Like mentioned, I want more of them! The characters are well developed, and their love is undeniable!
Overall, as it stands, I would recommend this book to others. I look forward to reading more books by this author.
Thank you to the author for an eARC copy of this book. These are my honest thoughts and opinions.
1 star rating – whilst I finished this book it was only to see how the author tied up this shit show.
Mason (MMC) is a hot headed, short fused and damaged cowboy who after a chance encounter with the FMC – Harmony, becomes OBSESSED with her. To the point he gathers information on her and shows up at her home, work and even followed her to the farmers markets. Once they actually start talking to each other Mason tells Harmony she is "safe with him" and that makes it all ok. Harmony is a survivor of domestic violence and damaged herself. Used as a commodity by her father she was raised to be the perfect bride for a wealthy businessman - the misogynistic POS from the first novel in the series who is trying to strong arm his way into acquiring Mason's family ranch.
There was a lot to unpack from this novel and I am not going to dig into it. I am going to say that my 1 star is for a multitude of reasons, some being the: - Stalking of the FMC by the MMC - Limited vocabulary of the MMC - The FMC being called a whore and slut during sex. Again the FMC was a victim of domestic violence. How the author thought readers could relate and get into the MMC then calling her degrading names is beyond me. - The black hole which is their deciding to marry and then going ahead with it.
Ok I feel I have wasted enough of my time reviewing this book. I am definitely in the minority in terms of my views on this novel which encouraged me leave this review!

I realize that authors probably hate the word "potential" but this is the first word I can think of when talking about this duet. It had potential. It was basically "Yellowstone" in a book form so what's not to like, right? Wrong. It had great setting, awesome basic premise and characters that could be exceptional. What we got instead is ridiculous plot with OTT main characters and a villain who apparently can be eliminated in 5 min (even though he terrorized everybody for two books). But that I could overlook. I was telling myself that it is not so bad, but...
Even though there are so many characters that could have compeling stories in the future, I'm affraid that this over-the-top craziness is not for me.
listen, so I read the first book because someone posted about "when the curvy female lead gets saved by the cowboy who hates her after being caught in the rain" or what ever I was like... ok im sold.
I will read anything with a plus size FMC, I am a simple gal. I finished it in a couple of days and saw this one released Friday and so here we are.
the first book was.... uhhhh.... it was ok. a solid 2 stars. But this one, I liked. I thought that Mason was wayyyyy better than his brother. I also liked Harmony more than Val, she called mason out on his ish. their story also had a better plot? like I know it was dumb as hell how he *cough* STALKED her, but I am willing to let that go bc he really folded for her at every turn. they had a more natural falling in love sequence and I think the trauma bonding worked idk.
any way, now to be a hater. WTF IS LITTLE SONG LOL ????? like that a horrible nick name???? I was sitting there like ...... naw dog 💀 its just as bad as "enchantress" if not worse. should have been song-bird or sumn and home girl calling the male lead SWEETIE took me out, like bestie this man is like 31??? tf you mean sweetie. like they would be doing some crazy ish and she'd be like "oh, sweetie" like girl wut?
Also????? the story's big bad getting defeated in the last 5% of this book after terrorizing everyone for combined 800+ pages was such a cop out but what ever. it was pretty anti climactic, but the cringe dream sequences where the respective book's FMC has to meet the DEAD MOM???? is more important ofc. Also just to go off of that why the hell are they meeting a dead woman's ghost and I'm supposed to sit here and take it like it's this magical ethereal romantic thing like no that ish was weird lol? 😭😭😭😭 like the dead mom is literally giving the male leads pep talks in their heads or when the female leads are either dying or passed out she's visiting them in their dreams it was so crazy to me
anyway, this was better than book 1, 3 stars. I want a Mags spin off bc I KNOW she can fix him.
*ARC REVIEW* I was given an ARC in exchange for my honest review - thanks Brittany! Overall rating: 3.25/5 Spice rating: 2.5/5
Okay, so I'm quite torn because I've got a lot of feelings about this book but I also definitely did not read Breathe For Me which is the first book in the duet. So, that one's on me. Additionally, this is the first of Brittany's books I've read - I know she's got another series published, but I haven't read that either. But besides that: this book was a roller coaster. At first blush, it should've been a slam dunk for me: dark cowboy romance, high angst, schminks and schmexy fun? What's not to love?
Because I'm in my make-a-list-villain era, here's the rundown: -The FMC has severe PTSD from a traumatic event (past mentioned on-page in flashbacks), has panic attacks, maintains meticulous routines to keep her safe, and has a clear comfort object (metal water bottle) that can never be out of her sight or out of her hands. -The MMC (bad boy bull rider who only feels peace when he's on the back of a bull) stalks her after their meet-cute for several months. Like...comes to her work, donates money to effectively become a benefactor to the clinic she's an employee at, and then watches her apartment at night. And somehow this comforts her instead of makes her more paranoid. -The MMC's nickname for FMC is "little song", with little to no context. I know she has a music room in her apartment, she plays the guitar and there's many mentions about how the traumatic event altered her voice to be raspy, but other than that, it just feels out of place. -The MMC has daddy issues, which isn't necessarily a complaint, it just feeds into the larger narrative of "men should go to therapy, but instead they just get kinky and angry." -There are aspects of not only ranch life, bull riding, and dark cowboys....but ALSO street racers and mafiosos? Too many tropes - best to distill and concentrate. -They get married seemingly out of nowhere after only being together for several weeks. Was this due to the whole having to go back to the ranch aspect, or trying to keep her safe by changing her name, or what? I wasn't able to figure that part out, and it felt very disjointed. -During the climactic "taking care of business" scene, the MMC unalives the FMC's tormentor/abuser/kidnapper WITH HER OWN COMFORT OBJECT (metal water bottle). Like...I get the significance of using that, but I can't imagine how that would go over with the FMC. Like "oh those dents? don't worry about those little song, nothing to see there." -From a structure standpoint, the dual POVs made sense, but then towards the middle to the end of the book, it sprinkled in different time periods and flashbacks, with seemingly confusing breaks in the chapters - NOW: I fully anticipate and understand that some of these structural breaks and formatting notes were issues that naturally arise in the ARC process and were smoothed out during the publishing process, so I don't hold it against anything. However the whiplash from the POV and timeline changes left me dizzy. -*EDITED TO ADD* The fact that made me pause, fact-check it, roll my eyes, and nearly put it down at 85%: according to American Bucking Bull dot com, a bull weighs weighs on average 1,700-1,800 pounds - let's be generous and round that up to one ton (2,000 pounds), not SIX tons (12,000 pounds) like she mentions in the book. Now, I've been around horses most of my life and I'll be the first to admit it's difficult to guess a weight of livestock off of a glance if you're not seasoned at it, but this was a glaring factual error that could have easily been fact-checked and fixed during alpha or beta reading.
All in all, it wasn't as bad of a read as I might have made it seem. I still read it, I still enjoyed reading it for the most part, and I've become quite skilled in glossing over things like the above for the sake of just enjoying the book. And like I said at the top: I did NOT read the first book in the duet, so I was missing a good chunk of the background of Mason's brother Denver and what all went down at the ranch pre-Sing For Me. I'd like to read her other books to see what else she can do - she's got the writing chops for it, but I think a few bits and pieces could've been reworked for a better, smoother delivery.
The second instalment in the Langston brothers duet follows younger brother Mason as he maintains his spot as the world's best professional bull rider. He's unaware of the events of book 1 and what older brother Denver has been facing at Hallow Ranch due to the dramatic events of a decade ago. But Mason has been keeping a secret; the real reason he hasn't returned home is far worse than anyone knows.
Chasing peace 8 seconds at a time, he has no other focus until he sees her: terrified behind a bouncer at a PBR event, all red curls and big, blue eyes. From that moment, he's a man obsessed. There's no logic to his feelings but he can't control himself... he has to know she's safe.
It seems fate has a funny way of intervening as he learns that his new beauty Harmony also has a dark past with Tim Moonie; the man trying to destroy Hallow Ranch. As their two worlds collide, will they find the peace they're each desperately seeking?
Thank you to @authorbrittanyann_ for the ARC of this book 😍 Ever since reading Breathe For Me I've been counting down the days and this finale was absolutely brilliant! Our MCs are both beautifully broken, but the Author shows such an authentic healing process for Harmony and how she's working through her trauma. This book doesn't hold back, so ensure you read the trigger warnings from the Author as there are significant dark elements within. The characters in this book have all experienced trauma, but this is probably the reason I loved them so much. They're real in a way many characters aren't in popular works today.
I loved the way that the two brothers stories intertwined, leading to an incredible finale 🔥 Mason & Harmony are electric together and as you know, Brittany writes amazing spicy scenes! She's recently announced her next series, and from the cameo the characters made in this book I'm already excited!
La trama y la escritura parecían una historia de Wattpad muy predecible y pobremente estructurada. Los protagonistas no tenían sustancia y les faltó química.
Im so disappointed..I was really looking forward to this book. I really liked the first one and I was extremely curious about Mason but this book felt forced..everything about it felt forced. I usually don’t mind an insta love but this one felt off. I wasn’t invested in the characters and what they had going on so I had to move on from this book.
Sing for Me (The Langston Brothers Duet #2) by Brittany Ann
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 stars
⭐Top read for 2023⭐
This book was just wow! Im so happy I stumbled upon this hot, sweaty cowboy, small-town romance, it was an incredible duet. Just like book one, this story was a total page-turner and had my heart in a vice for most of this book. But rest assured, there is a HEA that is just beautiful leaving you wanting so much more.
There is quite a lot of trauma in this book so if you are comfortable with the warnings, you're good to go. Love, pain, slow burn, hero falls first, revenge, hot cowboys and more are what you have in store with this story. It was a different storyline from book one and for 70% of this book, it runs parallel to what's happening with Denver and Valerie. Then it meets up where the ending of book one leaves you and all characters are gelled together towards the end.
You meet Harmony and she is so strong. I feel while Mason had lots of things going on, this is very much her story. She endures some rough things and what she goes through just to get to the other side, I take my hat off to her. Her chance meeting with Mason sends them both into a tizzy with sparks flying and awesome stuff oozing off the pages for the reader to enjoy.
If I could choose a cowboy to fall in love with, it would be Mason! He was all bull and had so much heart. The hot AF cowboy with a 'touch her and die' attitude and I loved it! He falls hard and fast for the woman with the fiery red hair and he doesn't know why or how to turn it off. He becomes her shadow, her protector, and then her everything in between. In return, he becomes 'free' and loves with an unconditional heart. A true cowboy and a gentleman, I loved his gentle side but when he has permission to enter, boy does this cowboy turn hot and dirty! Sign me up because I was down for this man! Phew!
A remarkable story with passion, pain, sorrow, hurt and love...so much love! Dual POV and ends in a gorgeous HEA that leaves your mind open for their future.
I'm relatively new to the dark romance scene (I honestly prefer contemporary romance) BUT I'm a sucker for cowboys....and rodeos....and Hallow Ranch. And Langstons.
Most of the time when you're reading about cowboys, they're not bull riders, which makes this so refreshing to read. We know from Breathe for Me that Mason is a bull rider, and a darn good one at that. When he and Melody have a chance encounter, they can't get each other off their minds, which is only fair since I can't get them off MY mind.
I'm also a big fan of authors giving us little Easter eggs when they've written multiple books, and although I haven't gotten to read all of Brittany Ann's backlist yet, I know for a fact that we get some of these Easter eggs throughout it. In Sing for Me, we get to see Denver and Valerie again, which makes my heart so happy. I think I could read pretty much anything revolving around these characters and never be tired of it.
Please never make me leave Hallow Ranch! Please!!!
If you're looking for something to hook you quick, keep you engaged and satisfy your Yellowstone cravings...look no further than the Langston Brothers Duet.
Thank you Brittany Ann for the eARC in exchange for my honest review.
While I liked this one.. it did drag out for a while. I just wanted the bad guy to ve caught and dealt with .
This lines up well with Breathe for Me.
Harmony was such a sad character who grew in this book. and how she found her true family was so sweet. She represents the importance of speaking your horrors by going to her therapist.
and with Mason.. Not everything is as it seems when he's only talked about in the 1st book. He is just as broken as Harm. Together, they heal each, and it's beautiful.
(spoilers below) . . . . . but there was something about this one that I didn't like compared to the 1st one.
❌️over use ofnthe word cowboys (again) ❌️constant mention of the blue (her eyes) ❌️I don't mind a possessive MMC, but this was ott ❌️I won't lie, disappointed with the resolution of the plot (getting the bad guy)..I used to strong FMCs getting their revenge and they literally had.no part in it...they just stayed behind ❌️not a fan of insta love
⚠️TWs! dark themes of thinking of suicide, rape, domestic abuse ⚠️
Mason is the younger Langston brother who has major demons. He’s an angry bull rider, who left the Hallow Ranch and his brother 10 yrs ago. After one of his riding events, he hears a cry for help, and this is where he sees Harmony fighting off a janitor. Harmony has extreme anxiety/PTSD, and Mason feels drawn to protect her.
I love how the grumpy cowboy, who doesn’t like anybody, fell for the sweet red-head who feels broken. Mason was patient with her, but also challenged her. I love how she was able to let some of her walls down with him. Also, the significance of the water bottle😥 The Langston brothers are👌🏼
The ending of this seemed to resolve too fast for me, but most of the questions I had did get answered. I wish there was more explanation into how “Navy Blue” was captured.
This can be very triggering so I highly recommend reading trigger warnings.also there are a ton of typos in this book, yikes.
Two brothers. Two brothers with an unbreakable bond… That was kicker, though, because that bond could be broken. It would take a lot to break it, but it could break. In fact, that bond could be destroyed in an instant.
Mason, the circuit touring rodeo man and Harmony, the singer without her voice. This book was the second in The Langston Brothers Duet, Mason is scarred from his past relationship and ran from the family, avoiding them ever since. Harmony is in hiding, determined to live her life even though she's constantly looking for the darkness in the shadows. When family issues arise, Mason must return home with Harmony at his side. Determined to get revenge for past misdeeds and the death of their mother, reunited with his brother Denver will they finally be able to put the past behind them? FULL of spice and romance, second chances and found family, what more could a reader want?
I don’t think I’ve ever loved a cowboy story more than I love the Langston brothers duet. Sing For Me I felt was much darker than Breathe For Me, but it was beautiful and I think Brittany Ann handled incredibly sensitive topics delicately and with so much care. The way Mason loved Harmony, so fully and completely, was so beautiful to see coming from such a stereotypical tough guy cowboy.
Harmony and Mason both have so much trauma from their pasts, and it was incredible to see them not only learn to trust each other, but to also learn how to share that hurt with each other so that they could finally start to heal.
Again, I don’t know what Brittany put into these cowboys, but I completely and thoroughly ate this duet up!!! I cannot recommend the Langston brothers enough!!
This is only the second book of Brittany Ann's that I've read but I absolutely love her stories! Her characters are well written and fully developed, her plots are always intriguing, and the spicy scenes are spot on 😜
Harmony, the main female character, is so strong even after everything she endured. She has the biggest heart and loves with every thing she has. Mason is a world famous bull rider, known for his temper and fighting but he is so gentle with Harmony and their relationship is just so pure. He of course has his own demons but always puts Harmony first, and makes sure she's safe even when he puts his life on the line to ride a bull for eight seconds of peace. I loved this book and I can't wait to read her next series!
At first I wasn’t sure if I was going to enjoy this book as much as I did Den and Val’s, but I most definitely did. Harmony and Mason’s story was dark, heartbreaking, angsty, sad, steamy, and beautiful. In the end they both saved each other, Mason was her true hero, her knight in shining armor. The man was a hot head and quick tempered, but he had the patience of a saint when it came to her. Everything from the flow of the book, the storyline, the characters and ending were excellent- and the spice between them was HOT! I especially loved the moment Jane came to Harmony, it was touching and sweet. I had tears in my eyes a little too when Harmony saw Sammy.
Strangers to lovers Curvy nurse FMC Tall, possessive MMC Suspense Mental health rep Domestic violence Multiple pov Bull rider Give each other nicknames
Harmony has a bad and traumatic past and is now living in her own. One night her friend convinced her to go out to the rodeo and she doesn't want to leave her water bottle behind, a guard tries to get her to leave with it or hand it over. She doesn't want to so he basically puts his hands on her to hand the water bottle over here comes Mason stepping in and saving the day.
He finds out who she is and follows her to keep an eye on her.
They wind up realizing they have more in common than they initially thought, can they save the ranch and have harmony "sing" again.
Felt the ending was kinda rushed but overall I really enjoyed the story, didnt want this duet to end. Harmony has a special place in my heart for what she had to go through. Dealing with a traumatic past is never easy but having someone who is understanding and patient by your side makes all the difference.
End of the book sets up for the breakneck series.

Mason blew daddy Denver out of the water. (I still love you smoke)
Obsessive bull rider that loves taking care of his girl 🫠 The dynamic was so sweet, poor Harm had been through so much and was finally in the process of becoming herself again when she met Mason. And Mason was fighting his own demons from his past. They truly helped each other heal
Continuing with book 1’s touch my wife and die vibes I’m here for it. Their stories wrapped up nicely and I could see many Easter eggs in this for spin offs.
Trauma does things to people and I’m glad the characters showed progress and growth throughout their stories. As for the villains, may their ashes never find peace on that mountain.
I thought these lot were SO CUTE. I loved their dynamic and how they grew together. I think their matched dark pasts were written quite beautifully and handled with a nice delicacy that sometimes is not always there.
