Betrayal was the last thing they wanted . . . and the one thing they needed.
Ostracized by high-profile people in her hometown and presuming she’ll never regain lost trust, Kennedy Kerner writes off her lifelong dream of turning her family’s Colorado horse ranch into an outreach for hurting children. Until the day a young girl in need lands in Kennedy’s pasture, along with the girl’s handsome uncle.
Independent computer networker Garrett Dagwood, a.k.a. Dag, is content with his loner lifestyle, distancing himself from his family and the disappointment of failing to carry on a military legacy. When his mom dies suddenly, he’s unable to ignore a request to have his niece, Lucy, live with him temporarily. It doesn’t take long, though, for Dag to rethink his decision and ability to handle Lucy’s unique needs.
Unwilling to fail, Dag enlists the help of Kennedy and her herd of rescued horses. As the two work together to support Lucy, Dag dares to trust in someone other than himself, and Kennedy learns to trust her heart again. But will an unthinkable turn of events trigger their past wounds, destroying a future they’ve just begun to hope for?
Amy Lynn Taylor enjoys a simple, yet rich life nestled in the Collegiate Peaks of Colorado. She taught elementary students for eleven years until her husband drew up a contract at their kitchen table, offering her one-and-a-half years of guaranteed, paid employment to exceed her current wages if she would begin a quest to write. From that time forward, Amy dared to dream a new dream of writing romances with depth of faith and emotion. When she’s not writing, you’ll find her outdoors, on her Peloton, reading several books at once, or spending time with those she loves.
Believable and relatable characters in a well designed story. I appreciate a story of faith that deals honestly with doubts and disappointments and that no one believes they have all the answers. Experienced multiple times where I ended up thinking about my own faith and journey with God. My favorite line, “How do you escape a prison where you’re both the prisoner and the jailer?” Well done you! I look forward to your next offering.
Oh my goodness. This book! Once I started reading I simply couldn't put it down! I was over the moon excited that this story is set in Buena Vista, Colorado because I have so many fond memories from living there. The characters are so well developed and I was surprised a few times at the twists and turns the make up this beautiful story. Kennedy and Dag are two very broken people but that is what makes this book so great. I love how neither of them has it all together and how much they both grow as you flip the pages. This story has real life perspective and hardship and doesn't hesitate in digging into the hard messy things that fill up our world. I was encouraged while reading because it is written in such a way that shows how God is truly the One in control. He has such great plans far above what we can comprehend and sometimes we get stuck and caught up in our own minds that we can't see that. I laughed and I got pretty teary eyed a few times. This story is an excellent debut novel and I can't wait to read more from this author. If you enjoy contemporary romance this book is for you!
It’s not often that I read a book within the same week, let alone finish it at all. This book, as soon as it hit my hands, seemed impossible to put down. The romance is REAL in this book, which is often hard to find in fiction. Super well done and I can’t recommend it enough! Can’t wait to share this with my fellow readers!
What happens when you mix together a young woman struggling with a sense of shame, a kid with unique needs, the gift of horse therapy, two people whose hearts belong together but who struggle to trust, . . . ? You get a sweet, sweet, SWEET love story that explores many facets of redemption. Amy's writing is fun to read. She aims straight for the heart and hits the bull's-eye again and again.
This was a great read! If you're looking for a clean romance with some unexpected twist and turns. Definitely one that will keep the pages turning. A little confusing at first getting to know each character and their stories. But well worth the my time!
The character arcs in Unbridled Trust are nelievable and inspiring. The dream is delightful. And the hope is fulfilling. A little sappy in places, but it's a romance, after all.
I’m a voracious reader. I will have several books I’m reading at a time because I get bored and switch back and forth. Not with this book! I only stopped to sleep and other necessary things. Read it straight through in 24 hours. Characters have so much depth and the wisdom I received was unmatched. I can’t wait for her next book.
