Facing her own execution, Kasey bargained for a favor with her guardian angel. Only treating with the Summer Queen is more like dealing with the devil.
To free her love, from Summer’s grip, Kasey broke into the Terminus; a Congress black site holding their darkest secrets.
Among them a being that threatens to destroy the fragile balance between the Sidhe courts.
Summer is on the warpath and Winter wants Kasey dead.
If she can’t find a way to restore the natural order, humanity is going to be in hot water.

OMG This was such an adrenaline rush once again. All action and adventure once again from Kasey. You can’t help but fall in love with her character. Very exciting and at times intense adventure. I love it and can’t wait for the next episode. Well, I suppose I’ll have to. But such a great read. 20 out of 10.
Once again I would like to thankS.C.Stokes for the ability to read and review his continuation of the Kacey files. Conjuring A Coroner series. In Natural Selection Kasey finds her life once again up in the air. Lost is her love Samuel, her job and having to start all over again, OH and she meets Nora from Magical Midlife Crisis. Not that it was a great intro to Nora, but it will also continue. Enough spoilers. Kasey finds herself once again battling the establishments of most supernatural and real world entities as she tries to keep things whole in all worlds. It had the the undertones of a future of possible Armageddon that may come in the future. Of course she was blamed yet vindicated of past offenses yet knew she was a bit guilty at the same time. Such heavy weight on her shoulders she will not get a break however at least she can see a bit better on what she may have to do which helps. The book has a lot of action and battle scenes but in the end Kasey's earth spirit ability helps to win the battle for now even though there is a hint of future Armageddon to come. Can't come soon enough and maybe Nora will be a bit nicer next time they meet. It was really a fun read and great for teens and above so gave this one the 5 stars I thought it deserved. Great for the lulls during the holiday frenzy going on this time of year and is a quick read. There is a bit of violence but not as graphic as some of Samuel's other books (such as the blood filled arena that was caused by the vampires) but most of the minions got away to fight another day. Looking forward to Kasey's next adventure.

Hello, Book Lovers. I'm so excited to share with you my latest read from one of my favorite authors in the Urban Fantasy genre, SC Stokes.
This is a thrilling, emotional roller coaster, the 12th book in the Conjuring a Coroner Series, "Natural Selection."
In this book, Kasey faces the consequences of her deal with the Summer Queen, who saved her from a false trial. But the price she pays is more than she bargained for. Kasey has to question everything she thought she had and everything she stands to lose. But she can't afford to wallow in self-pity because the world's fate is at stake. The Earth Spirit has warned her that a cataclysmic event is looming if Kasey can't restore the balance between the Sidhe courts. But before she can act, she is captured by the Winter King, who wants her dead.
Will Kasey be able to escape and save the world? You'll have to read and find out! "Natural Selection" is out now; you don't want to miss this fantastic book. It's full of action, drama, and surprises. Join me, and let's dive into this fantastic story!
I believe Sam Stokes is one of the better Urban Fantasy writers out there and the Kasey Chase books, Conjuring A Coroner series are proof. They are funny, packed full of action, characters I can relate to and supernatural beings galore. I also love the fact that Sam has two other series, the Magical Mid-Life Crises series whom Nora is a major player in and Urban Arcanology, that cross over into this crazy New York setting.
In Natural Selection it looks like the Summer Fae Court and the Winter Fae Court may be going head-to-head. The Arcane Council was holding a congress with all delegates and diplomates from every supernatural community, Olympus Gods, Gnomes, Goblins, Druids, you get the point, to determine what was to be done about the break in at the Terminus, who was responsible and stop a war.
Book 12 is exciting, crazy, sad, hopeful, exhilarating, maddening, I could go on but I'll leave it at, dang this was good.
Kills me to not give 5 stars although I was thinking 3 for a while. Stokes writes really well and imagines a universe quite well. Through book 6 I'd been binging, buying the next. Here's the thing though. We went from the local Arcane Council to later in the series the Congress now to the international, inter dimension, inter myth systems. There's Hades and Fae Courts mentioned earlier, and vampires and werewolves. With this book the pantheons are expanding. Odin? The stage has gone now to primal chaos, and mention of a Prime Mover. Maybe time for the author's excellent skills to take on a new universe?
Anyone else read S C Stokes Natural Selection yet??? I am in love with this series! The twist ohhh I tell you. I loved it. And a few minor ones as well. Winter and Summer courts and magic ousted into the mortal world, a council conglomerate style trying to keep it all from exploding, and an assassin who keeps off sidhe. And! My favourite, an exert from the bounty hunter down under. No spoilers, but a solidly good fantasy read with a very light dash of romance foreshadowed in the next book. S C Stokes has me turning pages until 3am
"I love this book"! Kasey Chase is in really hot water this time! Can she survive it all? I adore Kasey she is smart and courageous. You won't find many like her. This story is so well written, I couldn't put it down! A great plot, fast paced non-stop tension, lots of action, survival and courage all in this edge of your seat captivating read! I always enjoy reading about Kasey's exploits!!!
Well another fast paced loaded story from SC Stokes. I have loved reading these stories and seeing the growth and development of Kasey, her life, her friends, and her magic. There are some great twists in this jnstallment and certainly not where you may have thought the story would go from the previous book. I have to say though Samuel.... I really do hope that we will see a lot more of Hades and with Kasey!
We had a pretty epic jailbreak from the last Kasey Chase story and where on earth (or alternate realm) we were going to go for this book I couldn't possibly know.
Well it turned out some more epic chaos ensued, a normal life is not for our Kasey.
There were some heartwarming moments with previous characters from this series along with a few cameos from the Bounty Hunter Down Under series.
I found it like the other books a fast paced, easy to read, supernatural delight!
Kasey’s books are always fast paced and she rarely gets a break. Luckily, although her love life pretty well sucks, she has some good friends. One of the things that Stokes provides is characters who aren’t one dimensional. Hades is a bad guy but is he unredeemable? Is Nora good or going to the dark side of her father? So much fun!
Ok, another riveting fast paced story. Kasey is dealing from the fallout of the last book. Winter is upset with her and Summer isn't all too happy either. This one ties in the other two Arcanoverse series and you get some surprise cameos. The plot twist was totally unexpected and thrilling. This is definitely a must read and highly recommended.
Kasey is back and must deal with consequences once again. A wild yet fun ride that was a blast to read. Had to see what she would face and overcome this time. Just another crazy time for poor Kasey with a fun story and fun characters as always. Made me laugh and groan but read to the end. Loved it.
Ooh this is good! Kasey decides that what she thinks might be love is not as important as saving her beloved New York City. This great story involves everyone in the Congress, from the Arcane Council, the Summer and Winter Courts to the gods and minor deities and the least of the supernatural community. What happens makes a very exciting story.
Wonderful wild adventure! A supernatural suspense with everyone, Greek gods, Sidhe courts and everything in between, powers back to the beginning of time. There is plotting and scheming on a level never seen. What did Kasey get herself into?
Action-packed and full of twists and turns I never saw coming! I loved it. With new dangers around every corner and betrayals haunting Kasey’s every step it hard to tell who’s friend and foe.
The ending left me highly anticipating the next book!
Kasey reunites with her troop, to stop the congress imploding in on itself.the book was well written with twists and turns and occasional blood lust. Looking forward to the final instalment of Kasey’s journey.
What a ride! Kasey and Sanders have fulfilled their debts to the Summer Court. What could possibly go wrong? But trouble seems to be drawn to Kasey … Note that there is swearing (damn, hell, ass). I received a free copy of this book, with no obligation.
This episode was full of action, danger and secrets. Once again Casey is part of solving the problem. Will she be able to stay safe as well. Love every minute of this book.
