Being the son of a gang leader is dangerous, but I never thought I'd end up being kidnapped by our rivals. Now I'm at the mercy of Toro Castillo, the Toscano family's infamous mad dog.
To taunt my father, Toro starts making ransom videos of me, forcing me to do degrading things on camera.
And to my surprise, I enjoy it.
I might be about to die, but Toro's dominating presence makes me feel alive. Toro is commanding, dangerous — and exciting.
And although he's cruel, he can be kinder to me than my father ever has.
As our twisted relationship deepens, I find myself questioning everything I know about myself.
Am I just a pawn in my captor's dangerous game, or is there something else growing between us?
Not my favorite in this series; this novella is a lot more smut forward, which isn’t completely unusual for Rivers' works but it was more heavy in this one than in the previous books in the series. Ollie also didn’t really catch my interest as character, he lacked a-lot of personality compared to Sebastian or Joey (MCs from previous 2 books). Additionally, while Rivers isn’t an author you go to for super flushed out plot/deep stories — this one felt like there barely had any plot at all.
Also I didn’t care for the group oral scene. Though I'm not docking any points for that as I know that more a me thing. But if group sex/sharing isn't your thing either, this is your heads up. Overall just not my favorite from this author.. but I’ll still be back for other books. Leo always has fun and entertaining novellas. Even in my current slump, I can count on this author to keep me entertained haha
Such a brilliant idea, so poorly executed. As soon as it got to the scene where they hand Ollie back over, it became so unbelievingly unrealistic it was painful. DNF 71%.
