Julie Lindsey-Thomas and her husband Greg are making the biggest move of their lives -- into a twenty-eight-room mansion that Julie inherited from her crazy great-aunt, Elizabeth Samuels. They can't wait to turn it into a beautiful bed-and-breakfast. Unbeknownst to Julie, she wasn't the only potential Great-Aunt Elizabeth had an illegitimate son, Jake, who was born mentally handicapped and kept from the family fold. Jake spent his life at the Keeler Institute, where those with marginal abilities were able to thrive...until now. The organization has no more resources for people like Jake, and Jake has no resources at all. Julie's and Jake's lives are about to intersect -- an intersection made even more interesting because Julie and Jake are protected by the same guardian angel. The troubles that finally bring these two together, and the resolution of those troubles, make a fascinating tale.
Angel Shared is one of the most beautiful stories I have ever read. It has the perfect blend of real human emotions with a touch of the supernatural. Every character feels like a real person who you become friends with over the course of the book. Vernon Powell’s voice is very similar to Stephen King’s without the vulgarity. If you’re a fan of Stephen King’s voice but want a story with heart, Angel Shared is perfect. I’m looking forward to more stories by Vernon Powell!
