Interesting history book through the eyes of an accomplished leader. The "secrets" fell significantly short of my expectations - basically a regurgitated mishmash of advice for leaders - the author tries to structure this advice through a "based on" biography of Attila's life, but it is still jumbled and redundant. Most significant was a list of "leadership qualities", which are all valuable, but the author fails to note which of this are true "talents" that are innate vs. things that can be developed. Also useful was the insight that most of Attila's success is based on his ability to absorb knowledge through the challenging environment of being a foreigner in the Roman empire, and never losing site of the fact that he is a Hun.
