Clover Pack #2

Midnight Magic

Rate this book
I probably shouldn’t have followed the strange Fae man through the mysterious portal.

Scratch that. I definitely shouldn’t have, but when the choice was to either get my friends killed or jump…

I jumped.

Now I’m stuck in the faerie lands, where enemies lurk around every corner, waiting to strike. The Fae Queen will rest at nothing until she gets her hands on me. I have something she wants, something she needs.

Something I stole from her.

The catch? I can’t remember where I put it. I can’t remember anything from my former life, having erased my memories to hide from my past in the human realm.

Now I’m on a mission to recover what I’ve lost, arm myself with the knowledge of what I’ve hidden, and save my friends – including the hunky panther shifter I can’t seem to get out of my head.

If I don’t die trying first.

First off, thank you so much, Savannah Lee ,Sunny Babe PR, and Book Sirens for the Arc Copy🌸

Omw!!! I devoured Midnight Magic , just like i did Midnight Mated.Book two starts of exactly where the cliffhanger in book 1 ended.I absolutely loved how Rowen's character grew in book two and the relationshipbetween her and Callan🔥.I am so invested in this story and the characters. I can not wait for Book 3😁

Midnight Magic is a sequel of Midnight Mate, and sadly I did not enjoy this one nearly as much as the first. While the first book was a classic shifter paranormal mystery romance(ish), in the second we are thrown into a more classic fantasy universe. The world building just wasn't there for me, and the details seemed a bit rushed and vague. It was too far a leap for me, too many genre concepts in too short of a book. Besides this, the MC lacked character growth and was also unlikeable without much redemption. In the writing, there was a lot of repetition in the dialogue or in explanations of things. Sometimes on literally the same page! Perhaps another round of editing is needed. Not sure I will continue this as I don't feel sufficiently intrigued.

RATING
Overall: 4.5/5⭐️
Spice: 3.5/5🌶️

If you’re looking for a thrilling adventure into the dangerous & mystic Fae world, add this to your TBR now. As soon as I saw @sunnybabepr promoting this ARC opportunity with all of my favorite tropes, I jumped! This is the 2nd book in the Clover Pack series. Initially, there was a decent amount of character & world building in the beginning. But once that becomes established, hold on to your Kindles friends! I read through the second half of this book in one evening. I. Need. The. 3rd. Book. I’ll just be impatiently hanging onto my cliff until the release.

Following a strange Fae man through a mysterious portal is never a good idea. Or is it? Life presents you with choices. & you must always try to choose the lesser evil. Rowan finds herself stuck in the Faerie lands with enemies around every corner. What’s worse? She has no memories of her former life. All the while, Rowan possesses something the heartless Fae Queen will stop at nothing to reclaim…reclaim, because it was stolen ~ by “Rowan”? Unfortunately, she can’t remember where she put it due to trading her memories to hide from her past in the human realm. Can Rowan recover what she lost, remember her past life, & save her friends? Oh, & a sexy panther shifter always adds another layer to making staying alive high on the priority list.

Rowan has the best sense of humor! I love how good of a person she is intrinsically & that nothing will stop her from doing what’s right…even her family. Plus, she’s a bada$$.

Callan is the ultimate alpha hole ~ protective, a little grumpy, & oh so hot & strong. The tension between these two is on the brink of explosion. Gimme that slow burn.

“I want you, Rowan. More than I even want to breathe. If that means one day, you’re going to trample all over my heart when you find your mate, then so be it.”

🔥Forced Proximity
🔥Found Family
🔥Fated Mates
🔥Alphahole
🔥Shifter/Fae
🔥Portal Fantasy

Thank you to BookSirens, Sunny Babe PR, & Savannah Lee for an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Yall, Savannah Lee does it again! The first book ends on a major cliff hanger just to pick right up in this book. We follow Rowan on the other side of that portal where she meets Nia and Finn. They all work together towards one common goal and that is to attack the Queen and her little minions.

I do not want to give anything away cause that is a disservice to all the amazing twists and turns of the story.

And don’t worry, grumpy Callan is back and the tension between him and Rowan is 🤌🏻🤌🏻.

Book 2 provides more discovery and character growth for Rowan, battle scenes, sexual tension, steam off the charts & emotional turbulence!

The author does a great job continuing the story and leaving the reader (once again) wanting more.

I honestly cannot wait to find out what happens with Rowan and the pack. Better hurry and read books 1 & 2 so you too can find out!

I enjoyed the second instalment of Rowan's journey! Rowan's character development was big in this one, going from someone has run for centuries to someone who sticks around and fights for her found family! There's still so many things that need answers, I can't wait to see what happens next!

Oh hell, Savannah has done it again! I am one of the lucky ones who received an ARC copy of this book and started reading it right when it got delivered (which, you guessed it - was at MIDNIGHT)

Why did I have it in my mind that this was going to be a duology?! It was around the 85% mark that I thought to myself... Hmmmm this has a lot of unresolved stuff to be finishing in the next handful of pages. I brought up goodreads and low and behold it is NOT a duology haha. I could not be more pleased!!! I am not ready to let go of Rowan and Callan's story :)

Midnight Magic picks up right where Midnight Mated ended off, with Rowan having just passed through the portal into the Fae realm.

Savannah introduces us to fierce creatures from this new land and Rowan makes some unexpected alliances right off the bat. There is a good balance in this book between new characters and those the reader became accustomed to from book 1.

There is a lot more fantasy in this installment, loads of magic and I loved it. A lot of action and some super steamy sexy times. What more can a reader ask for? Before I was even half way done I was already recommending my friends add it to their TBR's.

I would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys fantasy romance.

I’m not gonna lie I did not read the first book before going into this one because I didn’t even know there was a book before this but I still really enjoyed this one and wasn’t confused at all with what was going on because I felt that there was enough background info on what happened before to where I had an idea of what went down in the first book.

Overall I think this book was really good and I really loved meeting Rowan and seeing the way her relationship with Callan developed and this book had so many unexpected twists that It made me enjoy the story even more! There was a lot of action and plot and I felt that it did a really good job expanding on the world and the story from what I gathered happened in the first book.

I also found myself loving other characters such as Finn and Nia and Nia and lily especially! I just cannot wait to see where the story goes from here in the third book after that ending and Im definitely checking the first one out!

I was sucked into this world in the first book, Midnight Mated, and knew I’d be itching for the second book right away.

Rowan finds herself on the other side of a portal in the faerie lands. Rowan has something the queen wants, but Rowan can’t remember where she put it. Rowan finds herself uncovering she has a whole past that she doesn’t remember. Rowan must try to uncover her past and also keep her friends safe.

This book had more fantasy and magic than the first. This new fae realm was so easy to dive into. We get to meet new creatures and characters. The twists and turns with Rowan, her family, and her past is so intriguing. We get to see more of Rowan and Callan together and yes, there is some spice!

I really wish this book was longer and I need to get my hands on book three, like, yesterday.

Thank you Savannah Lee for providing me with an ARC of Midnight Magic.

I loved that the second book in this series picked up right where we left off of because THAT CLIFFHANGER!! I really enjoyed the bits of exploring that we got to do in the other realm. I can’t wait to (hopefully) discover more of that!

It was pretty stressful to go along with Rowan through this book, but I loved to see her bonds of friendship and family grow and mature. I’ll share some favorite relatable (to me) quotes.

“I was a pack-three-pairs-of-underwear-for-every-day kind of traveler, but thankfully she only gave me a slightly strange look when I asked for more.”

“Tomorrow I would be social, but today I would be me.”

“Blind feminine rage was a great motivator.”

Thank you so much for letting me be a part of this ARC read!

What a great second installment! We pick up right where the 1st one left off. I enjoyed how much of the fae realm we got to explore, and I felt like this one flowed a lot better. Not that the first one didn’t, but the set rhythm was much more apparent in this one. Also all the shockers! There were a few since she can’t remember her past. But also the plot twist at the end! I can’t wait to see what this continues to mean for Callan and Rowan.

Thank you to Sunny Babe PR and the author for the arc!

The Clover Pack Series is legitimately the definition of a 5 star read for me, I’m Infatuated, I was day dreaming about these books when I wasn’t reading them I am soooo excited for book 3 Midnight Mayhem.
I haven’t read many fantasies & this was my first shifter series I’ve read and I just loved how the author wrote these, they’re so descriptive but you don’t get lost in the world building.
I was caught of guard BIG time at the end & I really love when a book can keep me on my toes, keep me guessing then smack me into place.😮‍💨🤣

This was a fantastic sequal to Midnight Mated! I laughed so much throughout this book and the world building was fascinating. We finally get answers to Rowan's background, she's still the feisty and sassy shifter that we know and love and the end made me squeal with happiness 💜 I cannot wait for the next one!!

I have been waiting for this book to be released since I finished the first one. I received this book as an arc reader. I loved how this book picked up right where the first one finished. It was a super quick read which I can appreciate. My only negative was that I wish the book was longer because I didn't want the story to stop. Great read and series so far.

This is the second book in the Clover Pack series and it starts right off where the first book ended.

In the first half of this book we get to know a whole new group of characters and in the second half we get to see how the two worlds meet. I love the old friendships and the new friendships/ relationships forming in this book.

And my favourite part of the book is the slow burn romance finally coming the an end!!!

The book is already out and I can’t wait to read the third book!

Thank you so much Sunny Babe Pr and Savannah Lee for sending me this ARc for an honest review.

I thought this was a good follow-up for midnight magic. Learning more about Rowan's past was really great as well. I think the story had a slow burn where the beginning was kind of slow, and the ending of the book definitely picked up and really took off. Loved reading about the faerie realm but just wished there was more of it!

I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author for my honest and unbiased opinion

The most anticipated book 2, that i have been waiting for, is finally mine! As an ARC.
I loved the first book and i couldn't wait for book 2.
We get to know the next stage of Rowan's journey and getting to know more about her, as she learns about herself.
There is so much going on in this story. There is never a dull moment with all the action and magic. We are introduced to new characters and creatures. This book is very well written with the right amount of spice.
I loved everything about book 2 and I could not put it down. I definitely recommend this book series.

Thank you to the Author for writing book 2.

UM. I don’t have words!
I am completely obsessed with this trilogy. I was a bit nervous going into this second book because of how much I loved the first. I put so many expectations into it and guess what? IT LIVED UP TO THEM AND THEN SOME.
Callan. Fucking panther-shifting, protective alpha Callan. Ho-ly 🥵
I love him. He’s so multi faceted. He has all these different sides to him and I love them alllll. He builds up his walls but his emotions are deep. I was a fan in the first book, and I’m a bigger one now. And that Scottish brogue…
Roman is already one of my favourite heroins. Strong, powerful and a badass bitch.
They are exactly what each other needs.
I’ve never wished for a couple to get together as much as I did these two.
And their chemistry is actually electric.
There’s so many barriers in their way so the slow burn just continues to build.
This book was non stop action and wonderful chaos.
It never stops.
Quest after quest, battle after battle.
Bad guys that just won’t die.
It was wonderful.
And a new realm I could picture so clearly.
I devoured this and died a little when I read the last page.
Not because I didn’t love the last page, but because I loved it so much I wanted more.
I am beyond excited for the final book to come out now.
If you are looking for a unique, romantasy story… look no further!
Coming 15th December 👏🏼👀

I had such difficulty putting this book down, just like Midnight Mated! I loved that it picks up immediately where the previous one ends.

Rowan took a portal away from the fight but also away from her pack. She has to learn to fight, keep her friends safe, but also remember where she supposedly hid this item her crazy fae family is killing for.

I don't want to say too much because, spoilers, but I so badly want to talk about Callan and Rowan and new magic and mates and the new characters! Savannah does amazing with this story, the relationships, twists and turns, and new characters with interesting magic! Thankfully this one doesn't end on a bad cliffhanger, I'm okay with having to wait a little for the 3rd book but I still want it ASAP!

I recieved an ARC and this is my honest review.

Midnight Magic is the second book in the Clover Pack series, a fantasy romance with shapeshifters and fae. It picks up where Midnight Mated left off and took me a minute to resituate myself, having forgotten how the previous book ended. This is NOT a standalone book so please read Midnight Mated before picking up Midnight Magic.

Thrust through a portal, Rowan finds herself in the fae realm where nothing is familiar. She finds a space to hide out while awaiting Oliver who said he would join her. While in her perceived safe space she hears what sounds like an animal in pain and ventures out to find some kind of bird that looks like part chicken part eagle (a cheagle). It has an arrow through its leg and is in a lot of pain. She removes it but the pain is so intense it causes the baby bird to pass out. In an effort to protect it, she takes it back to her safe space. When she awakens later she finds they are not alone and there is a very large bird among them and it could easily kill her. Fortunately, it is the baby's mother and has explained that she saved him. The mother, who we later learn is a Pagu called Aura, owes her a debt. This might be the best thing that could have happened to Rowan given that Oliver has not shown up and she is in an unfamiliar land filled with dangers.

Rowan knows that since Queen Tantaii is now free, she will come after her. Rowan wants to protect her new friends, which is why she went through the portal, but how can she do that when she has no idea where to find the one thing the Queen wants.

This was a fun read. As soon as I was able to reorient myself to the story, I was captivated once more, and highly invested in Rowan's journey. We are introduced to some new characters, and revisit many of those we met in the first book. Pieces are slowly coming together to understand who Rowan is, and her mission. She has been running for a long time, and while that is her go to reaction in times of stress, she now finds herself surrounded by a community of individuals who are willing to stand by her and fight alongside her.

I loved Callan, the broody alpha male, in the first book and was thrilled to have him back in the second. He and Rowan have intense chemistry together and I love their push/pull relationship. It was fun to meet Finn, someone she knew in her previous life. I also really like Nia, another strong female character.

While there is some closure at the end of the book, I am by no means sated. I am keen to get my hands on the conclusion of the Clover Pack series however I'll have to practice patience. Midnight Mayhem is only expected 2Q2024 (that's second quarter of 2024). I guess I can occupy myself with that spicy forest scene... ;)

My #NewToMeWord is dunam, which is a measure of land area equating to about 900 square meters.

Don't hate me if you really love this series but this one was more of a 2.5 for me and I wanted to just skim so much of it.

spoilers.

Alright. I dont know why this fell so flat for me but god I found myself tempted so often to skip ahead and get to parts I cared about. I felt like we whipped through so much of this "journey" book and at times it felt like the author had an idea in mind when she started this series then it drastically shifted into this complex world that may be getting away from her story telling abilities.
So much and so little happen in the book. We have the quest book and the whole time she is fighting her brother and the others and we are still completely in the dark and she is fumbling around with her powers. Then she learns she will never get them back and we just need to move on? So we have a ton of people we will never have real connections with and she is just Rowan. Okay I guess? just fell flat with so much build up surrounding the temple and the quest only to really come away with a letter from herself with no information.
There is also a feeling of being in fast forward with this book and just taking huge leaps. She goes from the fae adventure right to training montage and a ton of people dying. She also sprinkles in complicated feelings for Callan who again I think has had 5 conversations with her over the span of 2 books...which I'm down for mates, but I just can't feel it with these two. Even when they eventually get together I'm like okay so they are banging now, are we going to get a real connection I care about because thus far I just don't feel it.

Again, I think my biggest issue is that it seems like this started off as a pretty baseline shifter mystery romance that could have swayed more toward her choosing between the Alpha of the pack and Callan and then the wild ideas kept coming and it's branched into this series. I think the wild ideas are interesting but I think diving into so many different add ones has hurt the connection to the main character and to those in her circle. I want to care about these characters, make us care! Want us to be into her and Callans romance why is every conversation about his mate? I am honestly not sure that a single conversation did not involve Lexi in this entire book and that includes them finally hooking up. Why would we love him when that is the basis of their entire knowing each other.? I want to be shown something not told something and right now I am feeling like I am being told a ton more than I am being shown.

overall, I am not sure I will be moving on. I don't feel close to the characters and I cannot skim the next book.

Title: Midnight Magic - Clover Pack: Book 2
Author: Savannah Lee

Review:

Hey fellow book lovers! 📚✨ Just finished "Midnight Magic" by Savannah Lee, and let me tell you, it's a rollercoaster of magic, mystery, and romance! 🌌💖

First off, huge thanks to Booksirens for the ARC! 🙌 Now, let me spill the tea on this explosive enemies-to-lovers shifter romance with a fae-tastic twist! 🧚‍♀️🔥

So, our protagonist, Rowan, takes a leap (literally!) into the faerie lands to protect her friends. She's got a mysterious past, erased memories, and a stolen something that the Fae Queen is itching to get back. Talk about high stakes! 😱

The story takes an unexpected turn in a rundown tavern where Rowan encounters Oliver and hatches a plan to recover her lost memories. But, oh boy, things get wild when they meet a cheagle in need! 🐾 Rowan tries her best to help, but her magical oopsie moment adds a dash of chaos. Props to Nia for patching up the aftermath! 🌪️🤕

Fast forward to a beach encounter with a creature named Pagu, and Rowan's on a mission to find her panther shifter companion, Oliver. The plot thickens as they delve into the politics of different fae royal families and courts. 🏰🤯

Now, here's the fun part! Rowan, the kickass heroine, finds herself facing a buffet of weapons. But guess what? She's hilariously honest about her lack of weapon-wielding expertise. I mean, who wouldn't be lost in a world of magical weapons, right? 🗡️😅

And that's not even the half of it! The book serves up a cocktail of adventure, danger, and that undeniable spark between Rowan and the hunky panther shifter. Will she recover her memories and save her friends? Or will she become a permanent resident of the faerie lands? 🌠🤷‍♀️

Intrigued? You should be! "Midnight Magic" is a captivating read that keeps you hooked from page one. The author, Savannah Lee, weaves magic with words, creating a world you'll want to explore. 🌟📖

So, fellow readers, grab your copy, dive into the faerie lands, and join Rowan on her quest. Trust me; it's a wild ride you won't want to miss! Happy reading, magical souls! 🌙✨

Cheers,
Mysterious Shy 🌸💫

this was another lovely case of this book was not what I was expecting in the best way! Midnight Magic was even more humorous and action packed than Midnight Mated, and I loveddddd that. the author leans heavily into the fantasy aspects, and that’s a big contributing factor as to why I enjoyed it more. the merging of shifters and fae was fun and unique.

the story picks up right where book one ends, with Rowan leaving her pack, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY — CALLAN, behind to seek out her past and fight against the evil that threatens the Faerie realm. things are dire for my favorite sassy and stubborn rabbit-shifter. she’s confused and unsure of her choices. she learns hard truths about her past along the way, with the help of Oliver and the friends she makes along the way. on the run from Rowan’s evil and power hungry family and still searching for the ring that will help her defeat them, she learns to wield her magic and embrace the power that lurks beneath. it’s epic watching her grow and master these skills, while at the same time, trying to connect with her shifter form. I admire her strength and the determination to protect her friends, who she misses her friends. especially the deliciously broody Callan. their bond is strangely strong, despite the circumstances of his past and mate. ugh, I adore the forbidden pull they feel to each other. it’s so hotttt & things only grow more intense as they fail to fight it. I lived for their moments together, and the spice had me blushing!!!

this was fast paced and had me on the edge of my seat. I finished it in one sitting because it was just so bingeable! once I got into the story, I had to finish and see where things went for Rowan. and I was NOT disappointed because holy goddamn, the ending had me screechinggggg.

I will absolutely be tuning in for book 3 to see how things end for Rowan and the Clover pack.

I received an ARC of this book, provided by Savannah Lee and Sunny Babe PR, and have chosen to leave a review of my honest thoughts.
