The brothers won the castle in a dubious bet – but unfortunately for the old castle, none of them are remotely serious about becoming its custodians.
Hackles are raising and feathers are ruffling all over the island. But none of that is going to stop Elspeth McGillicuddy from embarking on a match-making frenzy.
Because if Elspeth McGillicuddy can find each of these bachelor brothers a romantic match on Primrose Island? Well, they might very well decide to stick around… mightn’t they?

Perfect for fans of Scottish Highland romantic comedies from Jenny Colgan, Rachael Lucas, Lisa Hobman and Julie Shackman.
I found Holly Wyld's books in a promotional newsletter I am subscribed to, and since I was already a Kindle Unlimited user, I decided to read all of her books in this series. I don't regret that decision.
I loved the cover design for each. I liked Holly's writing style - the use of italics and full stops in order to express the gravity or the surprise of the situation. It made the reading experience enhanced because I could "hear" the thoughts of the characters. It was immersive in that sense.
This particular story is about three Norwegian brothers who inherit a historic castle on the Primrose Island, and want to dispose it off pronto, stopped in their tracks by the incorrigible matchmaker of the series Elspeth McGillicuddy. And also by Magnus' effort to rekindle the fraternal bonds and bring his family together.
The story felt believable by a stretch, cute and not overdramatic. The chapters are short and fly fast. The characters are likeable too and keep appearing across the series.
The story was enjoyable because of the siblings chemistry. I do wish that more had been written on Jakob and Jenny's thread, though.
I love the locales mentioned and have now added Scotland to my travel wishlist. Apart from that, the small community feel, the overcoming of personal obstacles in order to be open to a romantic interest and the non-romantic relationships that support the characters were all heartwarming.
I loked it and would read it again. Three brothers getting reacquainted as family and 2 finding love. What's not to like? Elspeth is a genius matchmaker...
