I LOVED this origin story!! S.C. Winters took us under the sea and gave us the back story behind one of fairy tales most hated characters ~ Ursula the sea witch.

I have to say that after reading S.C. Winters' story, I look at the character differently and have a new sense of understanding of why she did the things that she did. I also loved the way that S.C. made me humanized such an iconic character!!

This is the first S.C. Winters book that I have read and will definitely not be the last!!

A great retelling.

Oh my gosh! I LOVED this book. If I could give Depth of Deception more than five stars, I would. Ursula has long been my favorite villain. I love the lore and fan cannons surrounding her. I’ve always felt there had to be more to her story than what we see in the Little Mermaid.

Depth of Deception explores Ursula’s past, how she became the sea witch, and how Triton came to sit upon the throne of Atlantica. This retelling of the Little Mermaid is perfection. I cannot wait for the second book. I will devour it the moment I get my hands on it.

This was was an interesting story, I've not read anything similar.
Ursula is to be the next Queen of the Seas but there is evil lurking nearby. She grows up learning to fight with her best friend Helena but then it all goes wrong.
I found some of the world building confusing, but that might be me as I've not read a story based under the seas before.
It ends on a bit of a cliffhanger, but the next book should be even more interesting, especially Kia.

Loved this Story and the backstory of how Ursula became the sea hag.
Ursula is set to become the next Queen of the Seven Seas. Training alongside her best friend Helena she ends up showing a side of herself that even the Rebels end up fearing.
This was a brilliant story and i cannot wait for more.

This is a very interesting and unique take in Ursula's story. It is well written with great characters that are very likable. The story held me captive from the beginning and didn't let up. The pacing is great and smooth throughout the story
