I normally don't enjoy horror, but I enjoyed most of the stories in this anthology. They were all so different and brought their own unique voices to this book.
The first issue of The Deeps hit me like a shotgun blast--I don't think I've ever read a literary magazine so surprising and powerful. Each author's work that was featured deserves to be read by everyone, two or three times over. It's magazines like this that keep me glued to small press releases like Spindle House. I've already lent out my copy to multiple friends who've loved it just as much as I have.
Quite well-selected, these stories and poems comprise a slice of the horror genre, very well-told. The first selection is my favorite, exceptionally written, and a great way to begin a collection of horror stories.
