Ok, I think is my favorite book in the series. The mystery was an interesting on it's own, but what really had me was the personal element. Detective Kate Rosetti is supposed to be off the clock, being that it's her sister's wedding week and all, but work doesn't seem to care what her plans are. Not only is her sister, Jane, irritated that Kate is working, but Kate gets Jane somewhat involved with the case, adding fuel to the flames. The best part though, in my opinion, is Kate's relationship with Gem. Or more specifically, how she has grown, emotionally, in regards to it and to love and relationships in general. She's come a long way from the Kate we first met. While you can read and enjoy the book on its own, you will have a greater appreciation for it if you have read the series in order. (You will enjoy this stage in Kate's life more, knowing how she got to this point.) The crime is solved in the book, but all the personal/relationship stuff carries on throughout the series. There is no sexual content, other than kissing, so safe in that area. The characters are all well written and all very real. Even Gem (Kate's 'love' interest and local billionaire) shows a more human/vulnerable side that was fun to see. Kate's character has transformed from a no nonsense workaholic to a slightly less workaholic who is starting to enjoy things that she previously didn't allow herself to enjoy. And it's been a joy to see all this happen. =) As I mentioned earlier, I would suggest reading the series from the beginning, and don't let the fact that there are 9 other books before this one scare you off. They are all fairly quick and easy reads. You'll get through them in no time! :)
