Quite an interesting take on the impact of the Meiji Restoration of the 19th century from the lens of the death of samurai culture as emodied in Saigo Takamori. Easy and enjoyable read but some parts toward the end were rather dry or just over-explaining when the point could’ve been made more succintly. Nonetheless, still worth the read.
