Priest Vi’Aerdan wants nothing more than for his mate to be safe, but nightmares plague him with images of her being torn to shreds. Despite consulting Meryn, his anxiety persists. He remembers the helplessness associated with his failure to help his unit brothers when they were trapped in the caves of Noctem Falls. As ice forms on the palace walls, Priest needs his animal more than ever, even if it means asking for help from the people who turned their backs on him.

Cassandra Vi’Illiya has been living amongst humans since she came of age, and her parents began to fade from their world. Having lost so much at a young age, she strives to help those crippled by grief. After returning to Éire Danu and seeing the devastating effects of losing so many of their people at once, she knows she is exactly where she belongs.

As the city sinks into mourning, will they find enough of their own light and happiness to keep their loved ones safe?

SOOOOOO GOOD

I hope and pray that we are blessed enough to be enjoying new books in the “Bewitched and Bewildered” universe for many more years to come. The world is magical and her characters just burrow into your soul and steal your heart. My only complaint is I want more and am now eagerly awaiting the next adventure with our friends and family. Thank you Alanea for sharing this magnificent world with us. May you be blessed with good health and plenty of time to share all their tales…so mote it be. 🩵🥰💜

I’m going to give up

Sadly, I’m tired of this formulaic storyline. Meryn is my favourite all time character but these books are essentially the same and lack movement in the main thread. I was hoping that awakening Keelan would become a feature and that Meryn would have her baby causing Aiden untold grief, but this is just being strung out with no purpose in sight. I’m so saddened as I loved the initial books - I thought it would have a thread in each of the main cities but it’s just each book that’s piling on more characters with nothing to add. I’ve had enough.

These books now have a very large cast of characters that it's hard to keep things straight, that is my one complaint about this series. Yet, if I were to choose who to leave out, I don't know that I could who, which also drives me nuts.

It was nice to see this couple realize they were mates right at the start and be like ok, lets start building our lives and get to know each other. Both had very interesting backgrounds with different family issues, all of which were dealt with in the book. Cassie's were just plain sad, but with her mating she gained so much family and by coming home realized she had family she didn't even think of. Priest's issues were more complicated. I loved how his parents so cared for him, that they broke certain laws so that he could thrive. Yet, I also was glad that things were cleared up with his biological family, even if it was all due to panicking about Cassie laying an egg.

In the larger story line there was some movement. I really liked how during one of the crazy group diners it was brought about to see what the "regular" fae had that could help with the issues facing them all. The sort of bazaar at the end was fun, right up until it wasn't. Things for a bit crazy for a bit, our beloved characters in danger and it didn't look good, but the bad guys were dealt with and after some quick medical care our people all good. And as a bonus to all the drama, people realized that previous drama didn't matter, all that mattered was that people were loved and cared for.

Sadly I think this is likely to be the last book in the Bewitched and Bewildered series that I read. The storyline seems to be dimming right along with Eire Danu. Or maybe the problem is me and I just don’t care about the warriors living in Eire Danu and their mates.

I would love reading about Ben or Sasha’s fated romances.

I don't usually give below 3stars but to be honest, this one was my least favorite of them all, I read it in a few hour, it had a ton of spelling and grammar errors, it seemed to be published without being read before submitting. The story boring and uneventful, but like always the comedy was great, leave it to Meryn to lighten the mood but still she is seen as way too overly smart and everyone seems dumbed down when around her I do not like it. Like come on these people are supposed to have lived for hundreds, even thousands of years yet cannot outsmart her. I am glad we got to see a bit more into Meryn's past in this one but most of the story was boring, and repetitive, only the parts that included Meryn had any sort of emotional fluctuation for me. But anyways, I'm hoping the next one is better and doesn't take as long for release as this on.

Great story, but this book needs a serious proofread and editor

I've read Alanea's books from the get go. I absolutely love the Warriors and how fate finds a way to bring them their mates. Cas and Priest were an amazing couple, and I loved the twist about the egg bits and the doritos with diet coke. And Alanea never ceases to pull at your heart strings - good and bad.

But my biggest issue is the amount of errors I found reading the book. Cas being called a him when she is a her, Priest being called a her when he is a him. Extra words that don't belong, the wrong words used, etc.

I would love to give this 5 stars, but I can't. I truly love her as an author, but this was rough.

I love Alanea. I’ve loved this series since I found it and re read it multiple times. That said this book was cute in its own way. However, I need the juiciness back! Eagerly awaiting the rest of the series with more of the main plot. I know she’s building up to it. The last two books have me going- that’s great but what about xyz? It’s a little slow moving right now, I need the- “oh. shit! what!?” back!

A welcome return to.form.

While there are still a lot.of.characters in this.book thankfully there are not.too many new ones so you(as the reader) are able to.just concentrate on the story and its.a.good one. There's not as.much action happening in this chapter but.it's a fun read. Cassandra (Cas) is another amazing female character. One of the things I love about this series is that the women are just as strong and capable as the.men, in fact the men have a sweet innocence about them when it.comes to the modern world. I loved in the first few books when the Alpha team used to.make.today's to the.human store, treating the outing.like a military operation, and one.e of those outings was for feminine.hygiene products. Priest is also a likeable character the first bird shifter we have met and he's also badly eagle. There's a lot of.fun had over the prospect of Cassandra giving "birth" to an egg instead of.a.baby. Good times. And Kendrick looks to be next..................

I've loved these books for a while now and it's for sure a feel-good series for me. That being said, it's definitely getting repetitive and there are a lot of editing errors for it being a final draft. I'm also ready for Meryn to have her baby already. Hopefully the action picks up again in the next book 🤞

I'm not a massive fan of Meryn's defence of a demon. I understand that she's humanising him and relates to him, but she still seems to have forgotten that he's the leading person behind slaughtering babies and basically genocide, even if he isn't specifically doing it himself. Understanding his why shouldn't mean justifying his actions and I felt like Meryn crossed that line in this book.
We finally discover what's been happening to the lights, I wasn't prepared for it at all. It makes me feel for Cassandra. We see more about the bird shifters and their society, the freak out about potentially having an egg was funny. The end mission was interesting- we were on the side of the warriors because we've read their books. If we were on the side of the committee, this would very much look like a coup. I have a lot of respect for Cassandra, especially at the end.

If the pattern of the series continues, the next book is Kincaid's and it's the last book in Eiru Danu and sets up Meryn going to Storm Keep. I'm just waiting for someone to bloody heal Keelan.

The best one Alanea has released among the last several books in this series. It is as if she is refocused on the overarching story. The last few felt like the story was drifting and stagnant.

However, My Salvation is everything we have come to love with Alanea and this series. This story has all the feels. You're gonna need some tissues. Both happy and sad tears. The action really ratchets up in this one as well.

My only criticism is it seems that Alanea doesn't use an editor or ever a proof reader. The first sentence of the book made my brain hurt trying to read it. Please at least use a proof reader. I understand more than most how much professional editing costs.

this series continues to intensify!

14 books in and I cannot wait for more development of the main plot. The queens predicament was a surprise, but I loved Cas’ involvement with Priest, and the resolution of his familial ties. Wonder if we’ll meet Aiden and Meryns baby at some point. Excited to see what’s in store for Kincaid next.

I really liked this book, more towards the end.

Cas is finally going back to Eire Danu as per the queen’s orders. She meets Priest and I liked seeing their interactions.

There was something revealed when it comes to the queen. The ferals attack once again, but they aren’t closer to discovering more about that problem. There is a problem with the Committee, and I loved how that was handled –

There were lots of new characters and I liked most of them. I don’t know what it is, but I’m not fully convinced when it comes to the Vanguard – there’s something that stops me from liking them. At the beginning you see the family Guardians and I really liked them, but then they completely disappear. I liked seeing Gilheim, and I thought that that scene was funny, but I’m hoping that the goblins and other creatures in the forest will be shown more. I liked Cas’ and Priest’s families, but I really wanted to see more about .

I really liked this book, and I’m so curious about Kincaid’s book. I can’t wait to see how the plot progresses and seeing more of these characters.

Good addition to the series

I have been a huge fan of this series for years. I have been on the fence about the Eire Danu units storylines though. I mean I enjoy them but they were spiraling into darker and darker places. I missed the fun, light hearted soul of the characters. It had a!so seemed a bit redundant at times but this brought back the fun and originality that draws me to Meryn and the gang. Not detracting from the rest of Eire Danu tales, but I definitely look to these for their humor and light, as well as excellent world building. This one delivers.

i adore this series. even though it has some gruesome plot in it, it’s so kind and lighthearted.

me too so i did one.
“Cas shook her head. “There’s so many names.”
“This is just one city. Try memorizing like two others,” Meryn said groaning. “I need a spreadsheet to keep everyone straight.”

the sex scene was disappointing idk. it was postponed so many times and when it eventually happened it was short and not exciting.

Wish for more than one book a year

I really enjoyed Priest and Cas (Cassie). They were likeable characters and their life story was interesting. The guardians in the trees is so whimsy and cool. Meryn and the Demon guy are at it again. There's a scene in Lyconia that was a little hard to follow but some of those characters were like old friends catching up. I've been wishing for the same thing for years, two books a year would be wonderful.

Rainbows in her eyes

I absolutely had to read this book twice before I could comment about how amazing it was. The author shared so many revelations and brought so many amazing characters out of the woodwork. Meryn and her merry band wreaked some havoc and mayhem throughout the book, as to be expected, plus we were able to see her machinations at work. There were moments of absolute devastation, but also those of profound joy and happiness. She shared some moving reconnections and of course gave us a hint of what is to come. The beginning of the story was all about the romance, but she finished it with the biggest bang. This book was everything I hoped for and a fantastic addition to the series. I can’t wait to see what happens next!

When I first started reading Alana Alder books they were so good I couldn’t buy them down. As time went on the books had a lot of unresolved questions issues. With MY Salvation I was disappointed. The book still hasn’t resolved my sues from 4 books before and it just seems that her books are getting repetitive. Think it’s time to find a paranormal author.

More Adventures in Eire Danu

This is probably one of my most re-read series in my library, and I always love when a new book comes out because I do a full series reread, and this time was no different. Being in the fae realm has been really interesting compared to the first two cities we visit in the series. We also get a lot of background information in the fae city then we did before, the overarching plot is really starting to be filled in more than ever.
This book is about Priest, who we meet in the first book in Eire Danu, he’s an eagle shifter but was adopted by a fae family. I think Priest has one of the more complex backgrounds compared to the other supernaturals we have met so far. Priest really kind of feels like the odd man out, like he doesn’t really belong, and he really carries those feeling deep inside him and it really impacts his view of himself and his place, whether he really belongs. Honestly, his story is very kind of heartbreaking. The eagles seem to act more like their animal counterparts compared to the other shifters we have met throughout the series, and it is a very real reminder of how cruel the animal world can be.
Cassandra is our heroine and I really liked her. She’s sweet, kind, helps people for a living, but she also has a strong backbone and doesn’t back down. I love how fierce she is when it comes to Priest. I think part of why I enjoyed Cassandra’s backstory so much is because throughout the book series we hear a lot about how fae are immortal and how its difficult for them to make relationships with humans because they will outlive them all and the loss they endure from losing other around them is profound. But in this book we finally find out what happens to fae we they get tired from their long lives. Cassandra’s absence from Eire Danu is because her parents chose to fade after thousands of years of living and it was too hard for her to stay in the place where her parents last were.
I really like Priest and Cassandra together, they were both a little broken and really needed each other to put the pieces back together. There were also some really funny moments between these two. I love their family interactions, seeing the family guardians, and just leaning more about the fae. Meryn as always kept things interesting and I really like learning more about the demon and the scheme at work, as well as all the other past characters that make an appearance.

Such an amazing read!!

I know I’ve said this before but, for me Alanea Alder comes out with a book? It’s an automatic purchase for me. Every single time. I loved this book so freaking much, my only complaint? I wish it was longer (I’m greedy I know) but, I soaked up every line, every page wanting more only because I love this world so so much. I know Alanea has been going through so many up and downs in her personal life, with not only her health but, her family’s as well so I’m incredibly thankful we get to return to this world every year. I can’t imagine how hard it must be to write such a beautiful HEA while dealing with so much struggle in real life, I’m continuously impressed by her and I’m in awe of her, truly.

I’ve read a couple reviews stating how people think these stories are getting too drawn out because we’re not actually that much closer to figuring out where the feral problem has started but, I will say I don’t actually mind at all and I don’t actually agree. We got to witness another couple fall in love and one more warrior find their mate, and we know every time this happens we’re one step closer to taking out the bad evil, am I right? Each mated pair brings something so unique to the table, I love it! Finding out how much they can kick ass together is so much fun to read! I swear I laugh so much reading these books, they bring so much light and happiness to my life. The amount of love the author is able to fill in these pages? It’s so incredibly beautiful, I was bawling my eyes out by page 42 lol.

So, if you want to read about another warrior finding their mate, read this book! And I will say, we are closer to finding things out since we did get some more info about the evil baddies in this book, I won’t spoil it but, I think it’s ramping up for sure. And plus, we got to meet the Vanguard and finally get them in Eire Danu! And the most obvious, we get more time with our favorite gal, Meryn and all of her antics, she pulls a major move towards the end of this book that I can’t give away but, it’s so badass!! I can’t wait to fall in love all over again with the next book, hands down one of my favorite reads this year.

The way Alanea writes makes it easy to dive into this beautiful world and imagine that the found family in this series is part of your own. It was so good to be back with Meryn and her band of misfits causing mayhem and laughter again. The family just keeps getting bigger and better.

Priest and Cas were so wonderful. They complimented each other perfectly and I loved how much they had in common. It was good to see Cas helping Priest through his childhood trauma and we got new family members out of it.

This book wasn’t as spicy as the earlier books but I found myself appreciating how much time was focused on the romance and getting to know each other as mates. While it was clearly Insta-love, they built friendship throughout the story too.

The banter was hilarious as always. I constantly find myself giggling out loud when reading these books and this one was no exception. I think my favourite scene might have been the panic surrounding eggs 😂 but anything with Meryn is always bound to make me laugh as well. We also got to see some old faces from earlier books which was nice. The gang in Lycaonia even had a moment full of craziness.

There were two scenes that turned me into an emotional wreck though so fair warning. Alanea doesn’t usually put tearjerker moments in her books but these scenes just got to me. Utterly beautiful still but definitely had me tearing up.

The big bad final boss scene at the end was epic. I loved how everyone came together and I’m so glad there were no serious casualties. I loved that a certain someone was still cracking jokes even when they were hurting.

This series is so so good and I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves the supernatural, found family, hilarious banter, crazy shenanigans, cinnamon alpharolls, and a heavy dose of sweetness and romance to give it a shot. Now to begin the torturous wait for our sweet, darling Kincaid’s book because his epilogue had me intriiiiiiigued!!

Humorous and packed with romance

“Bad times go away like night facing the dawn. You just have to hold out.”

Alanea Alder’s fourteenth book in her Bewitched and Bewildered series, My Salvation, was another romance packed and humorous read. Focusing on one of the final unit members in Eire Danu, Priest Vi’Aerdan as he finds his mate in Cassandra Vi’Iliya, the unit warriors are still facing the mounting feral problem and doing their best to discover why the lights of Eire Danu are dimming.

Meryn and her merry band of misfits have been one of my favorite parts of the series, and Cass and Meryn have such fun interactions in the book that I was giggling as I read. I’m eagerly awaiting the next book in the series, My Eternal Light, which should focus on Kincaid. He’s such a unique character whose full of power (and completely clueless on how to use it), so I’m hopeful the super witches can help him focus as he finds his own happily ever after.

Can’t We AllJust Get Along?

Ok, this story was the best teacher of love and kindness in the series. Now if all the folk in the US Congress would read it and take heed, the world would be a much better place. And the women in book 14 were so dang awesome. They got along and worked together and were kind yet bad ass (badass) when needed. You just might have to change the series name to Meryn and Her Band of Merry Women. Thank you for writing strong, smart, brave, gifted and kind female characters who work together for good. We all should be so lucky to have a talented bunch of friends. Loved #14 and can hardly wait for #15. So glad that I found your Bewitched and Bewildered series at the end of COVID. It has enriched my life and given me hope for mankind. Joy and Blessings to you!

I have adored this series from the very first book...it is absolutely beautiful and I can see why some people would have complaints, but I love the huge cast in it, the different characters their stories, it makes this series even better. I loved Cas she was wonderful and one of my favourite females in this story, the entire plot of bewitched and bewildered is pretty amazing, I love meryn and the rest solving things and revealing something new to us, which I felt wasn't really done in this book, I loved how homey it felt, the emphasis on family this book had, love and warmth it was truly beautiful but would love to see more about the plot and getting more progress regarding that!
