"Don't I know you?" It was the oldest line in the book, but when Lucas McKay said it to Karin, it held the ring of truth and the promise of tomorrow. The lonely rich girl she had once been faded away when she was in his arms. Alive and unafraid, she matched him touch for touch, promise for promise, and soared with him to the land of paradise, the edge of ecstasy.

This is a Silhouette Special Edition from 1982.

The H is a very stubborn, besotted alpha male in pursuit. Very determined to get the h to marry him. Maybe for other readers the H may come across as a stalker because he wouldn’t give up on his wish to marry her.

The story takes about half a year. He is courting her all the time. He is not cruel, he is nice to her and her dad. He doesn’t blackmail her into doing what he wants.

He just tries to win her over again and again. They are making out without going all the way. She’s a virgin.

His courtship felt quite romantic after reading so many HP’s in which the H and h hop on each other like bunnies the same night they meet or within a few days.

There’s an evil, annoying OW in the story who really needed a huge smack down but unfortunately she didn’t get it. And the way the H and the OW interacted, was suspicious.

I would have given this 4 stars. But after reading the HP ‘His temporary mistress’ (which was like reading some kind of porn) by Cathy Williams the other day, I am relieved to read about love and romance again. So 5 stars.
