The abandoned son of Gwendolyn Meyers and Thomas Simpson. The borrowed heir of Henry Spencer. The brainwashed, browbeaten nephew of Cora Spencer. The unwanted husband of Gretchen Wilson. My true nature honed to suit their aim.
The dragon seated upon a hoard of wealth stolen from a dead bloodline, cleaning dirty money to aid both legal and illegal monsters, while lording over an empty mansion not truly my own.
The prosperity of our people rests heavily on my unworthy shoulders, the one behind the scenes guiding their every decision.
A thief born and bred by Dominion’s founders.
I’ve done my creators proud– my sacrifice destroying the very essence of myself.
A lifetime of ill deeds cleansed by fire– who am I once all that I’ve stolen has been razed to the ground?
Erica Chilson does not write in the 3rd person, wanting her readers to be her characters. Therefore, writing a bio about herself, is uncomfortable in the extreme.
Born, raised, and here to stay, the Wicked Writer is a stump-jumper, a ridge-runner. Hailing from North Central Pennsylvania, directly on the New York State border; she loves the changes in seasons, the humid air, all the mountainous forest, and the gloomy atmosphere.
Introverted, but not socially awkward, Erica prides herself on thinking first and filtering her speech. There are days she doesn’t speak at all. If it wasn’t for the fact that she lives with her parents, giving her a sense of reality, she would be a hermit, where the delivery man finds her months after expiration.
Reading was an escape, a way to leave a not-so pleasant reality behind. Reading lent Erica the courage she gathered from the characters between the pages to long for a different life. Writing was an instrument of change, evolving Erica into the woman she is today- a better, more mature, more at peace thinker.
Erica has a wicked mind, one she pours out into her creations. Her filter doesn’t allow all of it to erupt, much to her relief. Sarcastic, with a very dark, perverse sense of humor, Erica puts a bit of herself into every character she writes.
All apologies to Erica Chilson for thinking that she would actually insult us with a bait and switch “back from the dead” trope. I was so angry thinking I knew what was going to happen, thinking oh, I see you coming a mile away and now I can’t get comfortable seeing this thing popping up and ruining the story. Yeah, it doesn’t happen. The story wasn’t ruined by back from the dead tropes. So, yay!
If you have started the series and decided to not progress past one of the earlier books because you didn't think you would be interested in the POV of the character this is the time to push forward. Just crack open the next one, give it a chapter or two and then you are hooked into a better lusher more brain twisting, WTF is going on here, who/what? OMG are they really going to do this? Erica pushes the boundaries and gives no fucks. She will write what she wants and you will gobble it up and be filled for a good while.
If you haven’t been to Dominion in a while, well, you might need to go refresh yourself. If you are on the fence about this one thinking it’s just another POV of what you already know, with the same situations just told over again. Nope. This a back and forth with the past mixed with the present and it is NOT going over the same old events. You have no clue. Seriously.
M&M is a multi-generational LGBTQ saga about the founding families in a fiction New York city “Dominion”. It is NOT a generic BDSM Dark Romance. Don't let any of the tags fool you. These books are not to be taken lightly. These books are not for the timid, the faint of heart, and the people looking for an “easy read”. These books are for seasoned readers. This saga is a total mindfuck. It’s got ALL the feels. You get the angst, the ugly cries, the happy cries, the Squee’s, the fan yourself and hope no one notices, the WTF did I just read and yes, the urge to rip out your hair and go kiss your loved ones at night. Proceed with extreme caution. You only think you know what is going to happen, but this author has AGAIN made me feel foolish for even thinking that I thought I knew what was going to happen. This is the entire series.
First, this isn’t going to be an emotional torture porn book, but it will have you gutted, but along with gutted you will feel so many other wonderful feelings.
In Thief we get Boyd’s POV. Boyd who has been the guy who lived his entire life just trying to keep Dominion safe. Never allowed to live for himself. He is the misdirection to the misdirection’s. Oh, and he turns out to be a really interesting person. You will cry ugly tears for him, pray for him, hold your breath and just wish it all away for him, then you will cheer for him and everyone around him. Dominion has finally grown up.
I won’t get into it but if you can push past the first couple of chapters where you want to grab a pen and start writing out the genealogy chart of Dominion you will find yourself not putting it down. I mainlined this series over the past week just so I could sit in my home and read this book in ONE SITTING. Yup. Bathroom and kitchen breaks only. My kindle said it would take over 24 hours to read it, and if you look at my reading progress you will see that it took that long.
Please, this author needs to be recognized she needs to be celebrated and she needs to be on your list of books that you buy instead of just Kindle Unlimited read.
Oh, yeah, it's got some XXX spicy M/M and M/F light F/F in scenes but the sex is the least thing about it. Its not a "Mommy Porn" book. It's not BDSM in the current way it's been written but it is about the not putting a lable on the various shades on the sexual spectrum.
This book was right out of left field for me. It took this series in a brand new and extra intriguing direction that I can not wait to see play out! Boyd Spencer has always been a main character, but we have been left in the shadows... until now. He is brilliant. His story is much more complex than I ever imagined, and I've been deeply invested in this series since the beginning. Now, this book IS a TOME! But don't let the page number intimidate you. I and a few friends flew through it and didn't feel at all like it was long. I was hooked and didn't want to put it down! In true Erica Chilson fashion, I laughed, I cried, and I got my hackles up over these characters. The series is so deep, and everyone is so connected with different perspectives, I can read the same parts from different points of view and be left rethinking everything. This book had many prime examples of it. Overall, I was left feeling like Ms.Chilson more than delivered for us readers this time, and we have a lot more to look forward to in the future!

Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆☆ This is the fourteenth book in this amazing series – and be very clear, you absolutely need to read these books in order. That is quite a challenge, but wow, one definitely worthwhile. In this book you will get some further answers to questions which have long taxed us, and some wonderful tying up of links and twists. Don't expect not to be dragged through the ringer to get there... but SO worthwhile!
If it has been a while since you read the last installment, then you will find that the early chapters do help to fix in time where we are, and how we got there – I was intensely grateful for this connecting of past events with current complications. The pace is fabulous, with pauses to give one time to take it all in and then speeding up as things get tense, and the game is in play.
I defy you not to be amazed at how much you remember from previous books, but had no idea how they could all be tied together – well, one should always have confidence in the very talented (and possibly inhabited by a crazy muse) Erica Chilson!
