Everybody wants to win the lottery. A million pounds, perhaps five million, even ten million. How wonderful! Emma Carter buys a ticket for the lottery every week, and puts the ticket carefully in her bag. She is seventy-three years old and does not have much money. She would like to visit her son in Australia, but aeroplane tickets are very expensive. Jason Williams buys lottery tickets every week too. But he is not a very nice young man. He steals things. The character in this book is an old woman called Emman Carter. she was seventy- three years old and didn't have much money. The one day, After she bought shoes and went to her house, suddnely the men hit her head and she fell down, he stole the bag and run away. She went to near her house and found people to help her to call police, but a policeman hard to found him. The man who stole an Emma's bag called Jason Williams. he went home and look at the bag and there were lottery ticket and nothing inside. Emma watched at the television to look at the winning lottery numbers, and Jason too. Then Emma called policeman again and told Jason that he stole the bag and winning lottery numbers. After Jason get 5 million dollars of the winning lottery ticket, he have a big party. Suddenly, police opened the door and caught Jason to go to the policestation. In the policestation, Jaspn told everything to a policeman, but he told the lottery ticket was his not Emma's. after a hour, Jason's wife came police station to get half of 5 million dollars. These three people called the lawyers and went to court. In the court, the lawyer were talking. Finally, Colin ask,"so who's going to get 5 million dollars, Sally?" Sally answered,"Of course, lawyers!" because the lawyer very expensive. So the winner is lawyer.

The story of the book have crazy endding, and I don't like this crazy endding. In the drama or movie, the endding is always the oldwoman Emma get the lottery ticket, but here is not so I very supprise.

I gave three stars on this book, because the endding was very short and not very interesting to me.

A compelling story in which a young thief snatched a bag of a old woman, containing the lottery ticket that later won a big prize. The old woman pointed out that the thief took her bag and also the winning lottery ticket of hers, so the prize money must belong to her, not the thief. Each of them hired a lawyer to argue the case in court.

While the thief is advised by his lawyer to tell the truth about the lottery ticket and admit his guilt because no one will believe him when the case is taken to court, considering his background and the fact that he is arrested by the police, the thief thought of the way to make him look more trustworthy and decent by donating his not-yet-owned prize money to charity.

The story reflects the way justice system works, how a case could be viewed by the public and the court, with many actions that can possibly alter the public's opinion and judge's decision. It's a process of looking at the evident and, base on that, arguing where the truth lies and who should win the case. Because only those who commit crime know exactly what happened. And in the end, no matter who wins the case, the lawyers are always the ones who gain the money first, the money that pays for their service.

With all that meaning, sadly the book fell short a little bit due to its open ending. We never get to the trial where the case is debated. We also don't know at the end who the prize money will belong to, or whether or not the thief is put to jail for good (he had committed many petty thefts before). I hate endings like this when we have no sense of what will happen after that, and oftentimes the things that we don't know are the important ones, the answers to the dilemmas presented at the beginning of the books. Ugh! Where is justice in this case, huh?

The story is set in a small town. An elderly woman, Emma Carter is attacked and her bag is snatched by a young man, Jason Williams, who had sticky fingers. Inside the bag, there is a lottery ticket with the numbers 5, 12, 23, 24, 38, 41 which are the six winning numbers in that week’s lottery. Emma always uses the same numbers as these are important to her. She was born on 5th December, 1923 and lived at number 24 Sandwich Road for 38 years. Her son, Simon is 41 years old. Jason goes to claim the prize so he gets a cheque for five million pounds and Emma saw him on the presentation that is show on TV. Arrested by the police, Jason appears in court defended by a lawyer, Sally Cash. His parents, wife and lawyer want his money. He is in hot water now. So who is going to get the money?Who is telling the truth? Read the story and find out the answers on your own.

Indeed, what the director wants to convey in the story is that honesty is the best policy. In the story, Jason makes a bid for the winning lottery ticket which is worth five million pounds that is not belongs to him. He then arrested by police and have to go to court. As you can see,
Being dishonest will get into trouble and be punished as a bad penny always comes back. Therefore, it is better to tell the truth than to lie even it is hard to do.

To conclude, The Lottery Winner is worth reading because it is both absorbing and thought-provoking. Having entertaining content and meaningful message which is why I strongly recommend this book to all of you. Reading The Lottery Winner will definitely lift your spirits.

I have made consistent efforts trying to hit the jackpot, it all seems like a dream that might never come through, this could’ve been the case if i had continue making attempts without getting help from a spell caster called “Dr Amend”. An African wizard who’ve become prominent through his spell works. I was fortunate to come across a testimony on how ( Dr Amend ) cast a lottery spell to help a lady win the jackpot, seeing this i knew my dream has come through, immediately i contacted him and he did an amazing work for me by casting a lottery spell that revealed the exact wining numbers which helped me win the jackpot– I just want the world to know that such powers still exist. Thanks “Dr Amend” for this great help. This is to those who’re tired of the many failed attempts in trying to win the “lottery, connect with Dr Amend via website below.

4. What would you do if you won the lottery? Why?
I will buy a house in Spain because I would like to watch the game of Barcelona.
5. I heard Saki’s book report then I decided to read this book because I thought this story is fun. In fact, this story is very interesting for me. People all over the world want a lot of money. It is a natural thinking. The people who are attached to money are written in this book. I don’t want to become like these people but I think that if I won the lottery and got a lot of money, I would become like them. This book made me think more about what most important thing of my life is.

4)Have you ever been to the lottery winner? If you can get a lot of money by the lottery, what will you do?
-No, I haven't bought the lottery ticket. If I could get it, I want to do something for my family.

5)This ending is made by reader's imagination. Many people have a dream which wins the lottery, so this story is easy to understand. "I really want money"-human nature is written in this book. I think that the people can't win own desires.

Have you ever bought lottery? If you win the lottery, what do you want to do?
I've never bought it. If I win the lottery, I want to donate the money for people in poverty.
Honestry, I don't like the story, because the end of this story was vague. A old woman bought the lottery, but she couldn't get the money. Everybody in the story want her money. I thought that money sometimes makes people mad.

5. This book was very interesting for me. People behave badly when it comes to a large amount of money. They tell a lie to get it. Of course I think every people wants to get a large amount of money. Such a desire made people a bad person in this story.

Q: Have you ever bought lottery? If you win the lottery, what do you want to do?
A: yes, I have. I bought it two times but I didn't win. One of the reasons is I bought just one ticket each time. To enjoy exciting feelings.

I wonder if I could win the lottery, but I don't really get too much money because my family and I don't want to get in trouble of money.

Nice and simple for all who are learning English as their second language in school. The plot is ok and it is a very short book that can be finished and discussed quickly in class.
I recommend to all who want to take a one hour break for a book about "winning" a lottery and its interesting consequences.
