Camille Anna Paglia is an American social critic, author and teacher. Her book, Sexual Personae: Art and Decadence from Nefertiti to Emily Dickinson, published in 1990, became a bestseller. She is a professor of humanities and media studies at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
She has been variously called the "feminist that other feminists love to hate," a "post-feminist feminist," one of the world's top 100 intellectuals by the UK's Prospect Magazine, and by her own description "a feminist bisexual egomaniac."
2015 Update: It is a pity that like so many PR genius, they DATE! So with her poor taste in "art" and "artists"....too bad, she sunk herself from PR genius to.....PR POPTART! I'm sorry. I blame that on Feminist Backlash and her lack of fine art education and critical ability to know the difference between "Art" and "Self-pimping". :)
c'est la vie...even Ceasar got stabbed to death when he cited the wrong "artist"! She got off easy by being yanked off stage by "the true Art force"......Easi-peasy! This will teach you to play PR catchword bingo and forget where you came from....
Bet You "Jenni from the Bloc" didn't! lol.
From 2011
That Madonna is a PR genius! Guru does not even describe what she does, so it is only right that Camille devotes an entire book to her! It takes intelligence to do the "spin" and there is nothing wrong with a bit of pointy bras and postmodern feminist "sex" books....though I must say I think Camille should not dress in the same Gaultier pin-stripe as Madge because she does not have the same vertical structure for it...I think a softer Nicole Farhi would do the job better for the kind of Alpha female power dressing Camille Paglia wanted to get into a la Madge.
