This book is often introduced as one of the greatest romantic novels in Malayalam literature. However, I am disappointed. Even though there was a strong romantic story, its flow is often disturbed by the author himself by quoting the actual works of Dostoevsky (I think). So, unless you are a fan of Fyodor Dostoevsky or his literal works, you will find no enjoyment from this book.

I don't know what genre it can be considered. Story of Doestovsky and Anna his second wife, the rendezvous, the romance, and the union all told from an imaginative perspective. Told with uncanny precision and nitty gritty. If the author has not copied from any russian biography , then this is a great job. That could be the reason the book is into its 100th edition and has garnered so many awards.

പുസ്തകത്തിന്റെ പ്രധാന കഥാപാത്രം ദസ്തയേവ്‌സ്‌കിയാണ് – റഷ്യൻ സാഹിത്യത്തിലെ സൂപ്പര്‍താരം. അദ്ദേഹം അനുഭവിച്ച മാനസിക സമ്മർദ്ദങ്ങളും ആത്മഭാരം നിറഞ്ഞ ജീവിതവും, അതിന്റെ ആഴത്തിലുള്ള വികാരങ്ങളും പുസ്തകത്തില്‍ നാം കാണുന്നു. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ആത്മീയാന്വേഷണം, വിശ്വാസം, സംശയം എന്നിവയ്‌ക്കിടയില്‍ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന ആന്തരിക സംഘര്‍ഷം വളരെ വ്യത്യസ്തമായ ഭാഷയില്‍ അവതരിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
