I'm always in pursuit of new organic body care recipes. This, along with Organic Body Care Recipes: 175 Homemade Herbal Formulas for Glowing Skin & a Vibrant Self, has me all aflutter at the varieties, the medicinal uses of herbs, flowers and roots at my very doorstep. Every lady deserves the best, and making anything with your hands will enhance the simplest things that you can share with family and friends. I would definitely recommend this book to those interested in organic means of homemade cosmetic/body care. The recipes, all in all-- require common materials. I would suggest 75% of them can be gathered in your region, grown, found at local nurseries or pharmacy. I found pure Jojoba Oil at Walgreens for $7.89, when online stores/shops would cost you nearly twice as much as that. It's also Cruelty Free, No animal testing, No alcohol, artificial detergents color or synthetic perfumes. This is a steal. Jojoba is in nearly every recipe I make with body butters, hand lotions, facial cleansers, etc. I only wish I was capable of growing my own flowers for distilling, but it requires ungodly amounts of any herb for such a process. You know, I see people all of the time - who are into healthier living and whatnot, and that's definitely something to be proud of because it's back to basics. As for me, I'm more prone to growing and harvesting my own materials for those recipes, instead of simply buying the products to make at home. It's far more rewarding to me! I'm still using the Lavender, Rose petals, Peppermint, Spearmint, and other herbs I could grow from a window box or by my front porch. In my opinion, I'm trying to cut back on the expense of EXPENSIVE products, too - not just the unnaturalness of it all. Eating/creating homemade products without at least some form of gardening aid is a nightmare in expenses. I believe that's a reason 'healthy' living is scorned in some circles, because it's unrealistic in terms of people who aren't able to afford organic living, whereas I wish everyone, everywhere, were capable of chopping out their own backyard for a garden for homelife. I was raised in the country and I'm quite fond of getting my hands in the dirt, every chance I can! :)

I was given this book years ago but didn't pick it up until this past week when I was looking into natural recipes for body care products online and remembered I had it. It is a beautiful book with really helpful information for someone interested in starting to experiment with natural beauty products. There are helpful hints, straight-forward directions and detailed explanations on ingredients. I'm excited to get started.
