A woman on fire with desire. A man with the right equipment to fan the flames.

Whispering Cove, Book 6

Josie Wells’s libido is in an uproar. Her psychic promised she’d meet Mr. Right—two months ago. Her good-girl image is wearing thin, and when she gets the chance to have a little fun with town bad boy Adam Collins, she decides to go for it. The notorious playboy will be perfect for some no-strings play time until the real thing comes along.

Knowing he goes for the brazen type, Josie pours on the heat to seduce him at the town’s Festival. The kiss they share touches off an explosion of passion she never saw coming.

Adam’s always been crazy about Josie, but he’s never been willing to expose such a nice girl to the Collins Curse. She deserves the big house with the white picket fence—with a man who doesn’t have failed relationships written all over his family tree.

As their brief affair starts to become something more—and the town psychic predicts that Josie is destined to be his—Adam dares to hope there’s a chance. But then he learns a secret that makes him question what’s real…and what isn’t.

Contains hot sex against a fire truck, a sexy firefighter who’s willing to do what it takes, and enough orgasmic explosions to rock your world!

Josie and Adam were an adorable couple.

I love this trope. I love the good girl who wants to be a little naughty and the "bad" boy that you know is actually a great man trope.

Adam is a man who thinks he's cursed and thinks that he can't do long term, however, there is one woman in the world that could make him want to change.

Josie is a woman who wants the storybook ending but she can't stop thinking about Adam and all his bad-boy ways.

I’m sad that this is the last book in this series (so far) because I have really enjoyed visiting Whispering Cove. Brazen by Cathryn Fox is an enjoyable, audacious, and sexy romp between a seemingly mild mannered school teacher and the town’s bad boy firefighter.

Josie Wells (okay I have to admit that I snickered when I read our heroine’s name) is a kindergarten teacher looking for her Mr. Right. She was told months ago by a psychic that she’d be meeting him soon and was even given his initials. But, so far she’s had no luck. She’s challenged by her friends Vic and Tabby (from books 4&5) to have a little fun with Mr. Right Now while waiting for Mr. Right to come along.

Adam Collins is a playboy firefighter who is convinced that the men in his family are cursed, that they are unable to commit to just one woman. Adam’s been attracted to Josie for a long time but because of her job and his reputation, he’s never acted on it. When Josie confronts him at the kissing booth during the town’s fall festival, he realizes that he might have misjudged her.

These two are a delicious couple, they seemed so mismatched but in reality they are perfectly matched. Adam immediately understands Josie’s sexual wants and needs. Josie makes Adam understand he’s more than his reputation. Together they are spontaneous, combustible, and fascinating.

I absolutely loved Josie and Adam’s story. Cathryn did a fantastic job of telling their story and showing us all sides of their personalities. I personally love that even though Josie is a teacher, she’s portrayed as a woman with fantasies and needs like anyone else. Throughout these books, the “grandpa matchmakers” have been featured prominently and I thoroughly enjoyed these three characters. I really liked that Adam gave Errol a taste of his own medicine in this book. Brazen is the perfect ending to this set of novellas in the Whispering Cove series. All three authors did a terrific job and I’m seriously hoping there will be another round of books in this series.

Give me a hot firefighter that knows how to ignite and put out fires and I'm a happy camper. Adam Collins is just that. One sexy firefighter. He has this crazy notion that because his dad and his grandfather were playboys and were not the marrying kind. So because of that he's stayed away from the one woman in town that makes his blood boil with want. Josie Wells. Pre-school teacher, sweet girl, the type of girl that wants a husband, a white picked fence, and kids. All things he can't give her, or so he thinks.

Josie is waiting for Mr. Right to come along, but it's been so long since she's been with a man that her friends make her go for a night of hot sexy with the town's playboy, Adam. Knowing his reputation it was just meant to be a scratching an itch kind of thing. But after one HOT time against the back of his firetruck in the middle of Towns Square during the festival, and they both want more.

I think this was the one story that required the least amount of meddling from our designated matchmaker. And it was kind of cute to see Trent from book 1 having a bit of a role in this story being that he's Adam's best friend and they work together.

I loved Adam because, well, he's just the type of hero everyone wants to drool for. But Josie was a great heroine. Sweet on the inside but very naughty on the inside. Being that it was a short story I think there was plenty she was left without exploring, I would've read a lot more of these two. ;)

Yummy story!! I really loved Adam in the first set of books and was eager for him to get a HEA. This is another classic romance theme, kindergarten teacher meets playboy fireman. Still a delicious read and Ms Fox manages to toss in a few unexpected twists.

Josie is super sweet and fun to read, Adam is, as always, smexy!! I loved their story and delightful dynamic. They may seem like opposites but the more they are together the more you see they are a perfect match. This might be my favorite couple in the series to date.

Oh Hell Yeah, smexy scenes are scorchers!! Good thing he is a fireman!! Girl, you are going to need a change of panties for this read!!! I love the steamed up stories!!

The scheming matchmaking grandpas are at work again in this book, watch out though cause they might get the tables turned!! I love them and all their naughty plans!!

Catching up on my TBR list I picked this Hot little number.
A short read, can easily be done in an evening with some pretty hot scenes!
Adam and Josie are opposites, but when a meddling old timer fixes it so they see what they have in common, the flames ignite.
Though the romance isn't well described, the physical chemistry is undeniable and you get a well rounded story for a short read.
This series does not need read in order, though it might help to get the characters straight but I read book 4 first. 2 more to go, more mischievous old men!
