Review: Sky is Falling by Stephanie Kirsche
I picked up Sky is Falling expecting a cute, sweet romance. What I got was a beautiful story about taking risks, falling in love, and rediscovering ourselves.
We meet Skylar, heartbroken and lost, as she arrives in Paris—desperate to escape New York City and the life she left behind. Her trip is intended to be a brief spark of inspiration for her next book; however, the lessons she learns will have an enduring impact on her relationships, career, and identity.
How does a romance writer tell stories of love and passion when she’s no longer sure she believes in them? How can Skylar write the story her agents and fans are demanding? Just as she begins to spiral into doubt and defeat, she meets Jack—a charming, mysterious gardener in the park she drunkenly stumbles into.
I’m not one for spoilers, but I’ll say this: Jack quickly became my favorite character. I found myself rooting for Skylar to open up to him. Their easy, unexpected connection pulled me in, and I couldn’t put the story down. Would Skylar meet her deadline? Move to Paris? Find something real with Jack? Or would their secrets keep them apart?
Stephanie Kirsche delivers an ending I didn’t expect, but one I truly needed. Sky is Falling is a story about reclaiming your identity, loving yourself, and accepting every part of who you are. I’ll definitely be reading more from Kirsche.
