Hey there - would you like to watch a funny YouTube video where the real life characters reenact the catalyst for the book - see my facebook page at http:/facebook.com/textmelovemom
Text Me, Love Mom;Two Girls, Two Boys, One Empty Nest is about all the different ways Candace Allan's four kids left home, and how she's valiantly had to counsel, assist, ignore, find, and love them from afar. She was forlorn over Zoë, her eldest leaving for a university with no residence at just eighteen. Soon after Zoe's brother, Cole, flew the coop to reside with strangers in cramped quarters while working as a liftie at Whistler ski resort. Son number two, Hudson, started university at only seventeen and hated it. Her baby Lily, particular about her environment in a zillion ways, surprised everyone by applying to do a foreign exchange in freak’n Rome – Italy! Lily struck out from her host family to mingle with strangers while her mother pounded out emails trying to prohibit her lasez faire attitude. In this age of helicoptering, bubble wrapping moms and dads it was a challenge to ‘parent’ kids from afar. Candace Allan takes a deep breath, and satisfies her need to iparent by tapping a quick message into her phone, “Text Me, Love Mom.”
