I read this book when I was probably too young to be reading this kind of thing (I think I was 11 years old) and it has stuck with me ever since.
A great crime novel with a beginning that genuinely terrified me, that I can still recall nearly 20 years later. I go back and re-read this one once every few years.
The plot is a fairly straightforward murder mystery, and I think the book is carried by the character of Darcy and her drive to find the main villain, who is incredibly ghoulish, like season 6 of Criminal Minds levels of fucked in the head.

Very engaging and quick read. I like how you got perspectives from everyone in the story, even though it made it incredibly more disturbing. Although I had a suspicion of who was behind it all, the ending was still very good.
