As her relationship with Billy grows ever more intimate, Carrie asks her boyfriend to take an AIDS test, but while the results come back negative for HIV, they also reveal that Billy may have leukemia. Original.
A popular novelist, playwright, and newspaper columnist, Cherie moves effortlessly from genre to genre, writing powerful and entertaining work, whether in literary hardcover teen fiction, mass market paperback fiction, for the stage, film and television, and for her nationally-syndicated teen advice column.
I fell in love with these books in High School. I have read every one of them. I would absolutely read them over and over. Being out of Print makes it hard as life was lived and books are gone. I wish they would reprint them into digital. I would be all over that! Definitely an Awesome series, that I would Absolutely read again!
The Sunset book where they acknowledge the late 90s AIDS epidemic, and the extra layer of panic that deciding to have sex entailed during that era of life. 2 stars.
Interesting book. I felt a little like I was being preached at. I wish the author had allowed other viewpoints to be discussed equally. Outfit descriptions for a night at the Play Cafe Sam - Antique navy-blue slip she'd found at a thrift store, topped with a jean jacket, and of course her trademark red cowboy boots. Carrie - Baggy jeans, a t-shirt, and a flannel shirt. Emma - White jeans and a sleeveless white lace t-shirt under a long embroidered white vest.
This was my SVH when I was a younger. It allowed me to bond with my cousins in a way only a young book club could, and it helped with my dyslexia. Loved this book series when I was younger I think it’s a great buy for any teenager looking for a fun read.
