Asked to do a Sunset Island photoessay, budding shutterbug Carrie begins her assignment but is torn between submitting beautiful photos or photos that reveal the grittier side of Sunset Island. Original.
A popular novelist, playwright, and newspaper columnist, Cherie moves effortlessly from genre to genre, writing powerful and entertaining work, whether in literary hardcover teen fiction, mass market paperback fiction, for the stage, film and television, and for her nationally-syndicated teen advice column.
Carrie is offered the chance to publish her photos of Sunset Island in a coffee-table book. The only problem is that she isn't allowed to show the more poverty stricken side of the island, and she's faced with a moral dilemma. When a hurricane hits the Island, Carrie and her friends need to work together and put their differences aside (She is also struggling to decide between her high-school boyfriend Josh, and glamorous musician Billy!)
I fell in love with these books in High School. I have read every one of them. I would absolutely read them over and over. Being out of Print makes it hard as life was lived and books are gone. I wish they would reprint them into digital. I would be all over that! Definitely an Awesome series, that I would Absolutely read again!
Does Carrie decide to let a publisher edit her work? I would have liked this as an idealistic teen. As an adult, I think Carrie is nuts if she thinks a coffee-table book about the island would have included photos of the poverty stricken parts of the island. Outfit Descriptions for fishing Pres - orange U of Tennessees t-shirt with black lycra bike shorts and a backwards white baseball hat. Billy - blue denim workshirt with ripped white Levis Carrie - jeans & a red & blue long sleeved rugby shirt. Emma - similar except from a real British football team and had "Tottenham Hotspur" written on the front. Sam - blue halter top, blue leggings, blue hightops and a blue denim jacket.

This was my SVH when I was a younger. It allowed me to bond with my cousins in a way only a young book club could, and it helped with my dyslexia. Loved this book series when I was younger I think it’s a great buy for any teenager looking for a fun read.
