Sam contemplates flying to California for a weekend to meet her birth mother, Carrie embarks on yet another photo stint, and Emma falls for Sam's new-found brother Adam
A popular novelist, playwright, and newspaper columnist, Cherie moves effortlessly from genre to genre, writing powerful and entertaining work, whether in literary hardcover teen fiction, mass market paperback fiction, for the stage, film and television, and for her nationally-syndicated teen advice column.
I fell in love with these books in High School. I have read every one of them. I would absolutely read them over and over. Being out of Print makes it hard as life was lived and books are gone. I wish they would reprint them into digital. I would be all over that! Definitely an Awesome series, that I would Absolutely read again!
The girls go off on various Deus ex Machina, bit are together when Sam gets to know her bio mom. Emma falls for Sam's brother and has to decide what's really important, as does Carrie, who finally chooses between Josh and Billy
I'm not sure the hippie mother and straight laced father was a little heavy handed as to which the author wanted us to sympathize. Emma and Carrie fully jump into Liz Wakefield-cheating-doesn't-count-if-you-are-out-of-town camp. To meet Sam's birth mother for the first time, here are the outfit descriptions. Let's hope she's casual. Sam - faded blue denim workshirt that she'd tacked leopard print cuffs onto, blue jeans, tucked into her red cowboy boots Carrie - baggy white cotton pants with an oversized red and white rugby shirt. (MC Hammer pants?) Emma - (not wearing all white for a change!) raspberry short pleated skirt with a sleeveless pink t-shirt under her lace and denim jean jacket.
This was my SVH when I was a younger. It allowed me to bond with my cousins in a way only a young book club could, and it helped with my dyslexia. Loved this book series when I was younger I think it’s a great buy for any teenager looking for a fun read.
