It gave the basics, but after having already long ago read his whole life story told by Omer Englebert, it really doesn't compare. It does its best as far as comics go in telling what it can, but in my opinion it lacked the depth of the spirit of St. Francis, and just gave the shell of him. In places it seemed a little embarrassed to be Catholic, and it's style was a times too 40's/50's America.

I wonder if they'd have done more justice in doing a full series rather than just the one comic.
