"Their true colors are hidden until one woman turns everything upside down. "
"Speed, Book 2"

He s everything Seth wants in a partner, but even after five years of perfectly explosive sex, Luke refuses to commit.

She s not sure what, but if she doesn t do something quick, the two men she s quickly come to adore will wind up without the happily ever after they both deserve.
Warning: One man + one man + one woman = a whole lot of steamy two-way and three-way M/M & M/M/F sex, a hero or two to drool over, and a heroine who recognizes true love when she sees it. "
Jess Dee lives in beautiful Sydney, Australia, with her husband, their two sons and their insane dog - a ridiculously overweight puggle named Luigi.
An avid romance reader since her early teens, Jess knew one day, when she grew up, she’d have to write her own love stories. It might have taken a while, but in December of 2005, she finally got “the call.” Her first book, Photo Opportunity had been contracted. Now you can’t hold her down. She’s completed a whole host of books, and is finally doing the work she loves most— writing romance.
Kaz was like any young, twenty-something woman out there who appreciated fashion, food, and good music. How could she pass up the opportunity to see one of the hottest male bands out there, especially when she was going with two of her best friends? A night that started out exciting and full of anticipation ended up in a realm all of its own with rapturous delights that could only be conceived in someone's deepest fantasies. Not only did Kaz get to see a performance that rated a definite 10, but she and her friends were somehow lucky enough to land front row seats and backstage access to the men themselves. The three brothers who make up the band are insanely hot! And Kaz couldn't ignore the "off-the-charts" steamy manager either. So, where does that leave Kaz and her fantasy night? Well, getting close-up and personal with not just one of these hunky males, but two. Yes, two! Of course, Kaz is not so greatly experienced in the sensual arts, but soon finds her passion inspired by the sensuality of seeing the love and lust that exists between the two beautiful men who have chosen her for their vessel of pleasure this night. However, Kaz has a special ability that enables her to see the auras of living creatures, and this ability warns her that something is afoot. The affection that exists between these two men, who have quickly become more than one night of exotic pleasure to her, is obvious. Yet, there is something that is holding the two back and Kaz is determined to find out what and help these two special people have the happily everafter they deserve. I don't even know how to begin to describe my reaction to this steamy story of the interactions, physical and otherwise, between the three characters. The sex is heavy and hot! Although it's probably not what mainstream heterosexuals are used to. It was still vastly stimulating. However, I would offer a warning that there is definite homosexuality involved. So if this is troubling to you and not your thing, I would advise avoiding this specific romance. If you have an open mind, and are one not afraid to experiment and experience something new, try this story because it is a very good erotic romance. Although I did enjoy it, it was a new experience for me. I can now say that I tend to lean more towards the emotional involvement between a male and female character versus a male-male or female-female. The sex between all/any was great, but give me hetero romance anytime. I really enjoyed this author, and notwithstanding the negatives I just mentioned, I would not hesitate to read another of her works.
I absolutely devoured this book, and would not put it down until I was finished. I totally fell in love with Seth & Luke!
Seth Pace, otherwise known as guitarist Jordan Speed for the band Speed, wants nothing more than a full committed relationship with band manager Luke Struthers. Luke feels he cannot commit to Seth because he is hiding in the past that he feels will destroy their relationship. For fear that he will hurt Seth, Luke realizes that the only way he can make Seth move on is to find him someone else. Luke is instantly attracted to Sophie's friend Kaz when he shows the girls to their new seats at the concert. (love how Dee wove that part from the previous book into this one) Kaz realizes through her ability to read auras, that Seth & Luke are madly in love with one another. She is undeniably attracted to both of them of course, but she feels that they share a deep passionate love for one another and really should just be together. Through her abilities, she helps them breach the void that has been tearing them apart. Kaz is also able to find her path along the way.
Overall... I loved this story. This book was full of the emotion and steamy sex that I have come to always love about all of Dee's books. She is really able to capture the deep emotions her characters are going through, and that is why she will always be an author I will auto buy. I have to say she put a twist in this one and made this a true m/m book with a HEA for the guys that I found a refreshing change of pace. I'm eagerly awaiting for comes next in this series!
Not even the best laid plans can withstand the force of love. Abused as a child, Luke Struthers is determined not to let his love for Seth Pace keep him from doing the right thing. In Luke’s mind, the right thing is to walk out of Seth’s life before he hurts him, not thinking how that will affect Seth. Singer and songwriter Seth Pace a.k.a. Jordan Speed is trying to convince Luke they are meant to be together, but sometimes it feels like he's fighting a losing battle. When Luke brings Kaz backstage after a concert, she's stunned but excited to meet Jordan Speed in the flesh. Before long, she's seeing a lot of both men, but Kaz has a secret: she can see auras, and what she sees around Jordan and Luke is love. She also sees that Luke is struggling with something, and makes it her mission to bring these two men together. Can Kaz and Seth convince Luke he deserves the love Seth offers so freely? Can Luke open up about the past and finally let it go? Will these two find their way to a life together, or will Luke’s fears win out?
Colors of Love is the second book in Jess Dee’s Speed series, and it's a well written and engaging look at the lives behind the scenes of a music star. I enjoyed Ms. Dee’s take on the world of music, and the passions that run beneath the surface of these people. The locations used for this were well thought out, and chosen with care by Ms. Dee to provide familiarity as well as providing a new venue for the band to conquer. The characters are well defined and attractive, and I was drawn to them quickly.
Luke Struthers is strong, handsome, and tortured by his past. Abused as a child by his father, he eventually fought back, but believes he's a danger to those around him. His love for Seth/Jordan tears him apart, wanting him yet fearing he will destroy the very person he loves most. I found Luke to be the most compassionate man, deserving of so much more than he expected. Watching him become the man he was meant to be was a delight.
Karen ‘Kaz’ Flaherty is smart, sassy and ready for the change she sees coming. She has just made major changes in her personal life by quitting her boring job, and getting out of a dead end relationship. Her instant attraction to Luke, and then later to Seth as well, shows her a new side to herself, a side ready to experience more from life than she ever has. I like Kaz, with her adventurous spirit and her strange ability to see colors and auras around her. I appreciated that she goes into the situation knowing that this is just a temporary thing for her, and that she is looking for a way to help Luke find happiness and love with Seth, while she decides her own future. I like Kaz’s sense of adventure and romanticism, and her well grounded practicality in spite of her abilities.
Seth ‘Jordan Speed’ Pace is the guitar genius and lyricist behind the bands success, and he is determined, talented and smart. He knows what he wants, and refuses to be sidetracked from his pursuit of Luke. I liked seeing Seth and Kaz work together to help Luke see that his love will not ever hurt Seth, and I was caught up in the dynamics between the three main characters of this relationship.
Jess Dee has a way of bringing the reader into the story, and I experienced this from each perspective. The secondary characters, Kaz’s friends and the brothers, are as well defined as the main trio, and would be an asset to any story. I look forward to more from this world, and recommend this to those who like a hard won happy ever after for all concerned.
I’m still trying to come to terms with the ending of Jess Dee’s Colors Of Love, it is unexpected, it is beautiful, and it brought tears to my eyes. Funny thing is I suspected the couple in this book during See You In My Dreams, the first book in this series. I never, ever expected what develops during this story and I’ll be honest I can almost always guess the direction a book will take but Jess caught me completely off guard with this amazing story of love, pain, and giving.
Seth Pace (aka Jordan Speed) is the main lyricist and guitarist of the band Speed. Although he’s known as the dreamer in the family, he has a way of making his dreams true. The one thing he wants more than anything is a solid and committed relationship with the band’s manager and friend, Lucas (Luke) Struthers. They’ve had a sexual relationship for a few years but it’s not enough anymore. Luke has some pretty big demons in his closet and although he loves Seth, he refuses to commit. Over the years they’ve enjoyed adding a third person into their bed and Luke hatches a plan to find someone who Seth will fall in love with and make a life with. Enter Karen (Kaz) Flaherty friend of Sophie (from book 1) and a newly unemployed, unattached, and highly likeable woman. Kaz has the unusual ability to read people’s auras and as soon as she meets Luke she knows he’s conflicted.
I can’t even begin to express how amazing this story is. Seth who most people think is aloof, is focused on making Luke his for life. He knows they belong together and refuses to accept anything less. When Luke introduces him to Kaz, he’s interested but that doesn’t diminish his love or feelings for Luke in the least. Kaz meanwhile thinks she’s hit the hot guy jackpot and is more than willing to enjoy them both. Luke thinks he’s the master manipulator because he sees how Seth likes Kaz. Thing is Kaz can “see” the feelings between the two men and while she’s happy to indulge in some hot sex, she knows that’s all it’s going to be.
While there is no doubt Kaz enjoys herself immensely with these two men, she is so giving and unselfish and I admire her so very much. I love how she helps Seth understand Luke and convinces him to confront him. Seth’s strength and absolute love for Luke is admirable. Luke trying to do the right thing (although misguided) shows us how deep his feelings for Seth really are. Let’s not forget the off the charts, out of this world, too hot to touch sex scenes. OMG, Jess Dee is the goddess of writing scenes that have you jumping your partner the minute they walk in the door!
Colors of Love is an absolute must read for anyone who believes that you will sacrifice anything to make your partner happy. All three of the main characters in this story were so loving and giving which made it all the more touching when the book comes to a close. Jess Dee is an amazing author who can write a novella with a complex plot, characters who are larger than life yet believable, and makes you wonder how the heck she’ll top this book with the next one. I am already anxiously awaiting Jonah’s story, write fast Jess!
While reading this erotic, oh boy was it erotic, story I kept fanning and thinking to myself is it hot in here or is it just me? I will say this is the best m/m/f story I've read. No joke. I went up in flames with the sex scenes. Awesome writing in sensuality that morphs into off-the-scale fucking. Yep, I said fucking. The ending was not what I expected but I am happy the way it left off. Nice change though I do hope we get a story on the other character. Beautiful story with the visuals of colors(and of course THE scenes)that I absolutely loved.
2.5 stars. The story was ok. But got to say that this is one of my least favorite MMF story so far (I have read MMF stories more than the numbers of my fingers and toes but it hasn't reach three digit yet. Somehow, it's still a mystery to me, I got into these genres since the last couple of months). But then again the whole rock-star stuffs and fan/groupies, rarely works for me.
******* SPOILER *******
This is my first MMF book where the trio doesn't end up together in the end. So it might color my judgement of the book. Have to say that I'm not into MM story; I've read them but mostly it's due to the storyline. I'm broad minded and have nothing against MM relationship. It's just not my cup of tea because I can't insert myself into that fantasy land and imagine myself as one of the character when I want to for obvious reason, I can't imagine the sensation of having my c**k inflated and..... Right, let's move on.
The story is not my favorite because it didn't go the way I thought it would be. Usually I don't mind about it especially if the author make a nice surprising twist that make the story way more special and better than what I envision. I am disappointed that Kaz is not part of them despite all the lust and connection and how Luke knew she is the ideal woman for Seth. Kaz is only there as an instrument to help Luke and Seth relationship. In my defense, the story did start with Kaz and how she just broke up from a three-year-long relationship and feels there's upheaval and change is coming. I just never saw that it's a business venture....... Yup, never saw that one coming.
Throughout the story I kinda feels like I'm reading YA romance (probably due to the rock-band stuff) where instead of the couple that has not been able to move forward with their five year relationship went for therapy, they have menage a trois with supernatural fan. Because it's cheaper and more fun that way. ;)
What I found disturbing about Luke in this book is not his past emotional baggage but how he could just passed Seth, who he has been in love and involved for five years to someone they just met for a few days. Seriously... After all the trouble he went through to "protect" Seth. Did he even bother to run a background check on her?
I guess I'm more into MMF where all three characters are vastly involved in the relationship and works hard to become permanent triad.
It is a MM story, there are many MMF scenes but it isn't a MMF romance as I was expecting from the review. That is why I gave the 1 star. I wouldn't have read it of I knew. Very disappointing.

I LOVED THIS BOOK! Sorry for 'yelling', but I so appreciated that the author made clear from the very beginning that the main relationship, the most important relationship, was between Seth and Luke. I truly love menage stories that are m/m/f, because quite frankly, strickly m/f/m make no sense to me - how can you be so intimate with one partner, and not have any non-sexual contact with the other? But I digress.
I instantly fell in love with Seth. Luke, I just wanted to smack upside the head, and then hug him really hard! I also didn't think his reasoning was too crazy, like some stories of this nature can be, except for the length of time the relationship had been ongoing - that was the only wrinkle where I thought "why didn't this come up sooner?", but it didn't detract from my enjoyment of the story.
I would recommend this author to anyone who loves menage and gay romance.

This book was aptly named but could have also been named Colors of Lust! Author Jess Dee knows how to bring a reader from zero to burning hot in a few well written sentences. The heat in this tale had me fanning myself, looking around to see if anyone noticed my flushed skin, wide eyes, and the obsessive need I had to cross and re-cross my legs. Colors of Love is the second book in the Speed series centered around the Pace brothers. This story is quite different from the others in the way that it’s focused on the relationship of two men. What do you do when two men who love each other can’t get it right? You throw in a hot new age chick!
Australian Kaz enters the rigid (pun intended) relationship of Luke and Nathan at exactly the right moment. Her character was so lovely to read. The authors use of Australian colloquialisms such as “mate” or “bloke” give her writing a unique charm that added an alluring layer to Kaz’s character. As a matter of fact, I’d love to see a fourth Speed book about Kaz! She is an interesting character with a lot to offer the reader. I fell in love with her and found myself rooting for her to find her happily ever after along with the dynamic duo.
Some of my favorite bits from the novel:
“She saw everyone in terms of color, Every single person. So why did this guy grab her attention? What was it about him that made her want to understand just what it was he thought and felt that made his colors glow so enticingly?”
“When practiced, Chang Quan should look like raging waves on a great river that follow one another endlessly, allowing for no weak points. Show no weakness, Luke Struthers. Show only determination. Flow like the river.”
If you want a book that will literally leave your heart pounding, your desire bursting this is a must read. As an added bonus you’ll learn a great deal about the art of reading auras which I found fascinating!
Colors of Love is going to soar to the top of the charts!
Okay, so that was cliche but there is nothing cliche about Jess' new story. It is about 3 people who are at an emotional turning point in their lives. Seth Pace (Jordan Speed) is in love with a man who is not emotionally available to him. Luke Struthers is the bands manager and long time friend of the Pace brothers. Luke is the object of Seth's love but because of Luke's past he thinks he will never be good enough for Seth. Luke schemes to give Seth someone he deems worthy of Seth's love. In comes Kaz (Karen) she is at a crossroads in her life not knowing what path to choose. Kaz attends the Speed concert with her two friends and meets Luke & Seth (Jordan). I don't want to give too much away because I was really surprised with the ending and don't want to ruin it for others. It was a excellent story and in my opinion even better than the first book in the series, which I loved.
Two and three quarters stars. The writing is OK but there were just too many corny elements. The whole rock-star stuff, rarely works for me and in this one it really is beside the point. I'm not opposed to super-natural elements as I read a ton of paranormal but the new age seeing the aura just came across as hooky. It was just a way to give the female in the relationship relevancy and make it seem less awkward when she is ushered off-stage.
The plot itself was tiresome. I got so sick of reading scenes in which Luke and Seth have exactly the same circular conversations regarding their relationship which I quickly started skimming. There wasn't even any tension for the reader as we are told right from the beginning about Luke's past and yet it is supposed to be a big moment when he finely shares it with his lover. It was clear from the start how this would end and it just took way too long to get there even though this is a short read. At least the sex scenes were reasonably hot.
ok.. now i read two of jess dee books, i think i know the pattern of hers.
always with amazing analytical emotion in between the making love. and i love how thia story includes natthan-sophie as well. like seeing their story in different light.
and the whole aura reading. love it so much. kinda gimme a new info to learn and fascinate about. then, the whole lyric making things. and edna's lullaby. i almost believe myself that the writer also has her own poetry book. really beautiful those words.
now im craving for jonah a.k.a zachary story! and a bit edna. maybe the get together of the whole pace brother with their respected mate.
if office affairs and speed #1 made me want to read other jess dee work, now speed #2 made me crave to read all of her books. :)
It sounds strange but the thing I love most about this book
Well done indeed. I really enjoyed this book. It was relatively short but it didn't feel inappropriately fast-tracked. Not quite a four star book but a solid 3.5 I'd say.
This is one of the first M/M/F romances I've read where the happily ever after involved the men and the happy-enough after was for the woman. This was a very satisfying little read for me, from the characters to the relationships, to the situations they were in and the resolution of their problems. I really liked the story and the writing, especially when it centered around the emotions of the main characters. I very much enjoyed that the discussion of auras and alternative therapies were given prominence but without sounding "granola crunchy" and cheap or completely unbelievably stupid. I'll most definitely be giving this author's other books a strong look.

I really did like this book. Good writing, lots of humor, hot sex scenes. What took it from a 4 star to a 3 star for me was (spoiler(s) alert!)
1. Our intrepid trio winds up as a happily-in-love duo. It's not HEA in menage books for me if someone's left out or leaves. Even if all the characters are okay with it.
2. Needed to be a little longer. Almost too short for me.
And a clarification... I tagged this as PRN, but the only thing "other" about this story is that the heroine can see auras. When you're used to reading about vampires, aliens, and shifters, it feels strange to call something as mundane as seeing auras PRN, but I think it qualifies, if only just.
I've read several of Jess Dee's menage books now, and let me tell you -- she does know how to write some insanely hot sex scenes. Yeowza.
The plot here is pretty dumb. I'll try not to spoiler anything -- but I don't believe for a second that it would take Luke 5 years to make his decision about Seth, and I just had to keep rolling my eyes at all the aura talk and other New Age mumbo jumbo. But, let's face it -- plot is really not the main consideration here, is it? Dee does write some pretty good emotions for her characters, and IMHO she does great sex. 'Nuff said.
I think the paranormal element of this series just still kind of bothers me, and I don't know why.
Kaz, I didn't really connect with at all. I realize that she was only thrown in there to be a buffer literally between the boys, but I didn't connect with her, nor really want her there. This was Luke and Seth's story right from the start.
Poor Luke, he really had a number done on him in the past.
oh this was HOT *fan self*..holy moly...I usually don't read books with m/m or thresomes in any way but since I read the first book I felt like I had to..
I like it and it was superhot and supersweet at the same time, have to adore Seth..still not my cuppa so to speak...fans of m/m and m/m/f probably likes this a lot more...
Oh, how does Jess Dee so brilliantly tap into my fantasies and her characters deepest fears? Two men who love each other and a woman to bring them together - just perfect. Kaz is an incredible character, invested in pleasure but unwilling to stand in the way of true love. Seth and Lucas are smoking hot. I loved them together, such strong male emotion.
Colors of Love was inspirational. It actually makes me want to go find a Aura Reader to see what he/she might have to say about mine. I loved Kaz's character and how because of her the main characters find their way and even after being so pivotal the paths that have to be taken make so much sense.
It's was a good book. I felt bad for Kaz at the end 'cause it seemed like she was just a pound in their game. But she wasn't look for a man at that moment so I'm not that sad.... and they did belong together.
What a great romance with some amazingly hot sex. Freaking hot man on man action with a little female thrown in. I couldn't for the life of me figure how she was going to be added to their relationship and am so happy with the way it worked out. Really nice read!
Colors of Love is an entertaining story that will pull on the readers’ heartstrings as Luke and Seth try to break the cycle of abuse, fight for their love emotionally while heating up the sheets physically. Read More...
I didn't read the first one, but this one looked interesting and very hot. A twenty something Kaz has the unique ability to see colors and she uses that to help the young brother in the band and the band manager realize their fate to be together.
Ok how can you not love Seth, and his heart break for Lucas ... I just wanted to. Punch Lucas and poor SETH, two hunting hotties!! The sweet Speed brothers show their true colors again, so supportive of one another. Loved it!!
While I liked Luke and Seth's HEA a lot and it was a very sweet (and hot) romance between them, I'm disappointed that Kaz's part of the story is relegated to a plot device to help them get together.
