Priscilla senses trouble. Quickly, she jumps into the water and swims toward a drowning boy, pulling him to safety. Priscilla's act of heroism is commendable—especially since she's a pig! Yet Priscilla is not alone among quick-thinking pigs. In Pigs, young readers will meet many smart porkers like Priscilla that are demonstrating their learning acumen and problem-solving skills, such as saving a drowning boy, navigating a maze, or winning a video game.
I completed this informational text in Jan 16th, 2018. Pigs is great book for grades 1-3! I personally chose this book because pigs are my favorite animal! I could see myself using this text in the classroom. This book would be great to read aloud and to show students how to use a graphic organizer to remember information. One thing that surprised me is how smart pigs are! I never knew how easily pigs can be trained.
