Schwartz, author of the best selling "Magic of Thinking Big" here brings you the secret success formulas of the wealthy including: - How to build confidence for success - Five sure steps to success through leadership - Motivating people to do what you want - Five never-to-be-forgotten keys to wealth and, above all - Enjoy your work! A step-by-step guide to achieving health, wealth and happiness that simply CANNOT fail.
David Joseph Schwartz PhD (March 23, 1927 – December 6, 1987) was an American motivational writer and coach, best known for authoring The Magic of Thinking Big in 1959.
He was a professor at Georgia State University and also began his own work as a self-help coach and life strategist. Later, he founded his own consultancy firm focusing on leadership development called 'Creative Educational Services Inc'.
He became well known through his motivational publications and self-help books, especially for The Magic of Thinking Big, published in 1959.
This is one of the best books I have ever read. I just wish I had completed this earlier. A lot of wisdom is imparted by Dr Schwartz which is sure to help you in years to come. The book is so resourceful that I wish I had read this instead of my school curriculum.
What does it really mean "success" or to be successful, to you? If you went on fishing and you didn’t have a great catch, but you had a great time does this count as being successful or not? If you haven’t completed a project but you have had considerable progress on it is this still a success? If you help others to resolve their problems for the greater good, would you consider this successful? After reading "The Magic of Thinking Success" by David Swartz I had a much better clarity on all these answers. Although many of the learnings from this book I found in other books as well there are some insights that I found impressive and will share them with you here, today. - Focus on the important. Always give people more than they expect and you will get more in return. Think Quality not Quantity. Quality always pays off in buying merchandise, selecting friends and making more money. - A rule of success is to ask “ What can I do to help my customers make more money?” Whether in Banking, Property, Insurances, Securities or any other business, put the interest of the customer ahead of your immediate interests and you will make far more money. Is the repeat business that makes you the real money. - Show by drawing a map to the location and they will find it. Showing is education in its purest form. - Remember to treat people as you want to be treated. – This is a life rule I’ve been following since I remember myself and I’m very grateful to my parents as they are the ones that taught me this. - Give people Pride and they will give 110%! - Don’t strive for the “Average”, Average is the Best of the Worst and Worst of the Best. - “Actions speak Lowder than the words.” – We do the way we act and react and how we respond to situations teaches children far more than the words we speak. - Speak Simply. – As Confucious said “A great person never loses the simplicity of a child. Ralph Waldo Emmerson observed. “Nothing is more simple than greatness. Indeed, to be simple is to be great. Just as a machine should have no unnecessary parts, what you say should have no unnecessary words. - Want better health? Enjoy your work. - People succeed in direct proportion to their ability to turn on their Enthusiasm. – Enthusiasm is your psychological ignition system. There is more useful information in the book, but I captured the most useful I found for me. Enjoyed reading the book and enjoyed learning from it as well.
Pomaličku a důkladně.
The book is really great. It has resume in every chapter. It made me think a lot about what should I do in my life, for instance surrounding us with positive people and will bring the best of us. Also, i have to be conscious with the usage of money.
