Mystery from the Klooz series. This is a fantastic beginning chapter book for children looking for a mystery. Klooz is the name of this young boy who calls himself a detective. He takes cases and is paid in chewing gum. The Snarling Suspect is a case he takes. Someone is out to get Bill the Mask's dog, Odin. Odin is a beautiful German Shepherd who has never hurt anyone. He is being framed as a danger to the community. Klooz discovers the culprit is a man who is trying to sabotage Odin because his dog is also entered in a dog show. This book also includes a helpful glossary for bigger words, discussion questions for a book discussion group, writing prompts to be used for extensions of learning, as well as an internet sites page. This is a fabulous choice for students in grades 3 through 5.
