When one of Madame Clix’s prized blue-blooded Dalmatians gives birth to a Labrador mix, the eccentric breeder nearly has a cow. But after falling head over heels for the lovable half-breed, she discovers a calling more noble than raising champions and converts her kennel into a refuge for homeless dogs. There the adventure begins, as she enlists the aid of the author and his own Vespariding Dalmatian, J.P., to round up every stray in Provence they can get their paws on . . . and a few other creatures as well.
