No Dragons on My Quilt

Rate this book
A delightful storybook about a little boy who believes in dragons. His grandmother makes him a special quilt so he can finally sleep. Whimsical watercolor drawings and quilt instructions with full size applique patterns are included. A reader from Frederick, MD says, "I read 'No Dragons On My Quilt' to my daughter about 12 years ago after borrowing it from a library. Of course we ordered our very own copy. Back then we got it in hardback. Our whole family loves the book so much that we tried to order an extra copy for my son a few years ago. We wanted copies for each child to be passed down to their own kids when they were grown. (It's that kind of book.)"

My own grandmother got me this book back in 1992! I still have that copy, my mom used to read it to me and now I read it to my kids. Fabulous story, with some great repetition and things my kids do too! My grandma used to make quilts, she made them for my kids as well, it definitely is an awesome book!

My daughter picked this book out solely because it had a dragon on the cover. It isn't a bad book, but it isn't a particularly great book either. The story involves a grandmother making a special quilt for her grandson and it even includes patterns in the back (I am not a quilter so I cannot speak to the quality of the patterns) and was published by an American quilting society (located in Paducah, KY!). It did inspire my daughter to take a closer look at her quilt that was made for her by my sister (somewhat ironically her quilt DOES have a dragon on it) and snuggle with it on the couch the rest of the day.
