I discovered this book by accident in a clearance section of a bookstore. I'm always very happy to find a new YA series. This one is British, set in Paris and Monte Carlo sometime between 1901 and 1910, since "King Edward" is mentioned and I believe that is the years he reigned on England's throne. Despite being bound by the conventions of the time, 14 year-old Lady Violet and her American friend Garth investigate the thefts of diamonds from peers of her parents' realm in glamorous Monte Carlo.
